Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here in Brackley at the present moment but remains dry.
Today , as to watching sport such as cycling is live on Eurosport midmorning today ,and all the week so that will occupy my mind, to watch a real vent taking place although its from the UAE states .
Otherwise , I will have a quiet day , and hopefully see what is said later as to lockdown .
Take care,
Mick

Good morning from Malta where the weather looks good for now.

It is my only granddaughter’s birthday today. Hard to believe it’s ten years since I watched her enter the world. I would usually be in Florida celebrating with her so feel a little bit sad that travel is still nowhere near being a possibility. Thank goodness for FaceTime though.

Marydoll I hope you are feeling better today. Please don’t fall out with me. I promise not to post any more cake photos.?
Take care everyone and special thoughts to all who are struggling.☀️

grandMattie Mon 22-Feb-21 06:40:35

Good morning from a still grey E Kent. Mornings are definitely lighter.
I’ve been told that Iris is doing well and back to shuffling herself up and down stairs. They live in a Georgian terrace on three floors! So stairs play a big part. One loo is on first half landing and the other on the second floor...
Feeling much better myself. I think that tooth abscess must have been poisoning me. Funny I was totally unaware of it.
Cleaning today. I sometimes wish DH didn’t need such rigid routines to stay sane. It drives me mad when “we can’t go shopping, it’s not Tuesday” or whatever?. Poor old stick, he’s a good man. I’ll keep him.
I trust today won’t be too wet for those in the west, kind to those who are sad, unhappy or in pain. Stay safe. ❤️??☀️

Morning Mick, Bellasnana and all who follow. It's 7.5c here on the south coast but dry and forecast to be dull today.

Managed to get a bit of garden tidying done yesterday though there is still more to do. It felt nice to be motivated to do something after a few days of missing mojo syndrome. The tete a tete daffodils are out and look lovely. Really lifts the spirits to know that there is lots going on in the garden that we can't even see yet. Bit like life I suppose.

We have had a call from the hospital colo-rectal nurse to say he has not been forgotten for his next operation but because ICU still has a lot of covid patients, the surgeons are having to prioritise the most urgent cancer patients for the short number of theatre slots they are allowed. She thinks it might be April if the good news on the reducing covid stats continues. DH is very stoic and just takes things day by day. I get more anxious than he does.

Let's hope we all have a good Captain Tom day today and that there is some better news later from Boris.

Look forward to news from down on the farm Cattle!

Keep safe everyone. sunshine

Morning all from lovely north Wales where I’m not sure wot LauraNorder has sent me weatherwise.....but I’ve stopped Ark building as instructed!

I’ve got one like you GrandMattie! But mine is regimented regarding mealtimes, announcing his hunger after looking at his watch! Woe betide me if I’m at all vague about the day’s nourishments?‍♀️ but as you say, too late for swapping now!

Nothing planned for today other than snagging my updated kitchen - I’m sure he thought by doing all that tiling there’d be more food forthcoming......?

grandMattie Mon 22-Feb-21 07:00:21

Oh, pant, mealtimes? Hahaha. Lunch at 1300, dinner @ 1800, morning coffee at 11 not a minute earlier... why am I having a cuppa, it’s only 1020? Etc.

Sheepandcattle Mon 22-Feb-21 07:07:40

Good. Morning ......... we have a lamb!! First out of the starting gate is Ace - one of last years ewe lambs so a first timer, or a teenage mum as I tend to call them! Ace is a half-zwarbble ewe so brown, and she’s had a little white lamb. Happy to report that although Ace is looking a bit bewildered, mother and baby are doing well and have figured out this feeding lark ( she must have been paying attention at the prenatal classes I gave which isn’t always the case with this teenage lasses!) The only puzzle is that she was scanned as carrying twins and we only have one lamb. I had a rummage but I couldn’t detect number 2 so it’s possible that it was reabsorbed sometime during the pregnancy. I did try taking a photo to post but it was dark and my flash on my phone seems to not be working. As soon as it’s light enough I’ll get a picture of the happy couple!
Sadly, the poor ewe who had had the virginal prolapse last week that had been damaged by crows and had needed the epidural and stitches by the vet to put everything back in place, went into labour yesterday and birthed dead twins. I rather thought this would be the outcome as despite antibiotics, there was a high risk of infection. She has a better chance of recovery now the lambs are out but it’s very sad but part of farming life. If she’s well enough today I’ll turn her out with the empty ewes as fresh air and space is the best thing for her now.
Off to get everything fed and cleaned out now but I’ll return to post a photo if the woolly ladies allow me a break!
Wishing you all a good day, especially those that are poorly or sad.

Good morning all from a dry north Surrey, doesn’t feel too cold.
I am feeling refreshed after 3 days at work, think I was getting a bit stir crazy and feeling redundant. DH has utilised his time alone to get on with some garden jobs and gave the lawn it’s first cut of the year.
Had message from sister yesterday to say mum and dad not had such a good day so will call them early and probably DH will go over to deliver a sample to the surgery (mum is a recurrent UTI sufferer), sister is going to organise a double GP phone call for them and I will visit this afternoon.
I have a walk planned this morning with a work colleague who lives near me so we can have a good old natter.
We are looking forward to the announcement this evening but it appears much has been leaked to the press already, seems he is being rightly cautious with reopening of LD.
Thoughts to those with illness and worries, I know there are a fair few of you so be kind to yourselves. Spring is emerging, this time next week February will be behind us.

Good morning all from a warm ish North Leicestershire.

Today, first thing, I have a Zoom Carer's session at 9 am which is a shock to the system on a Monday!

Very odd visit to Mum and Dad's grave yesterday as there was a small trough with primroses in which neither my brothers nor I had any knowledge off. Weird!

My oldest brother has an appointment for his jab today. He is a needle phobic who avoids blood tests and things like the flu jab. I'm on the case and sending him reassuring texts etc. He does have a wife but she is hopeless at keeping him in line!!

Ashcombe Mon 22-Feb-21 07:16:20

Good morning everyone from a mild and dry Torbay.

I’m glad to hear that Iris is continuing to do well now she’s home and hope you can make the best of FaceTime with DGD for her birthday, Bellasnana.

I’ve just found my diary for 2019 and felt exhausted from how how busy I was then! I read about December, during which I had a part as the cat in “Babe, the Sheep Pig”. She was a mean character and I enjoyed the satisfaction of hearing the audience boo and hiss on a good night! I think sheepandcattle would have enjoyed the sheep dog trials as much as we enjoyed her misadventure with her expectant mum of triplets yesterday! Well illustrated, too!

Have a good day, everyone, as we anticipate our next instructions from on high!

Sar53 Mon 22-Feb-21 07:21:01

Good morning from a dull, grey Essex by the sea.
Lovely to hear that Iris is doing well and also that the first lamb has been born safely.
Gloss painting today, deep joy ??.
Have the best Monday you can and stay safe everyone xx

oliversnana Mon 22-Feb-21 07:22:08

Morning all. its light out in north leicestershire. not looked out yet.
Mums funeral today. So loved the fact Sheep has got her first lamb. Dreading the crocodile tears.
Wishing everyone with sadness and ills an easy day. take care everyone

Pittcity Mon 22-Feb-21 07:26:49

Good morning from a mild Colchester.

Will be opening the windows again and organising more photos and paperwork. New boxes arriving today for storing all those that survive the cull.

New life and sad conclusions today for some GNers. Much love to all x

brook2704 Mon 22-Feb-21 07:27:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another dry day with a bit of sunshine forecast. Yesterday was lovely, lots of sunshine and just a gentle breeze, no warmth yet though but feeling much milder.
Yesterday we enjoyed a longish walk at Foyers on Loch Ness, the waterfalls were roaring and very spectacular after all the snow melt over the last few days. Today I’m having a housework day with my least favourite cleaning jobs and then maybe pop into the garden for a little while..
DD2 should be feeling a bit less stressed from now on as the DGC start back at school today and she can refocus on her work a bit.
Sorry to hear your parents aren’t feeling that good dwmxwg I hope they improve soon
A very happy 10th birthday to your DGD bellasnana ??a lovely age to be!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Feb-21 07:36:23

Good morning Mick and all

Great excitement today, we have a Sainsbury’s food delivery!!!! Other than that it’s back to homeschooling for the GC, the 6yr old stayed here last night so Grandpa will be doing lessons.

Pleased to hear Iris is getting on well, hope the glossing goes well Sar53 and that our Marydoll is feeling better.

Thinking of georgesgran , auntieflo and all our morning friends with troubles ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Lovely picture Ashcombe! Thanks for sharing

NannyJan53 Mon 22-Feb-21 07:54:04

Good morning from a very wet and rainy Black Country.

Just a quick pop in, as I am off out soon for my Covid Jab smile. As I have still not heard from GP surgery, I am having to travel 10 miles, which is odd as I know many people 2 or 3 years younger than me who have already had it.

Will read all posts later

Wishing you all a good day

Marydoll Mon 22-Feb-21 07:57:57

Good morning all from Glasgow. Thank goodness its a bit milder today.

I'm going to try and get out into the garden, purely in a supervisory capacity, as DH is planning to trim the trees. ??. I shall cosy up to the chiminea and issue orders offer advice!? My BP can't take the pressure of watching from the kitchen and seeing him up the top of a ladder, holding on precariously to a branch.
Once he gets an idea in his head, he will not be swayed, so I need to use my feminine wiles!!!!!!
He promised to wait for DD and SIL, but is now using the excuse that they have to stay away, because of Saturday' A&E visit.

Dollie goes back to school today and we will miss our Zoom chats, they were such a tonic. Like me, she was shielding, but her consultant agreed that her emotional wellbeing was just as important as her physical. She has been missing her wee friends so much and only having adult company may be good
for her vocabulary, but not good for her generally!!!

Gaga, pleased to hear your DH hasn't been forgotten, albeit he won't be treated at the moment. It doesn't help our wellbeing if we think we have been forgotten.

For all those friends struggling on our special thread, with a heavy burden of sorrow and pain, you are always in my thoughts and prayers. ?

PS Bella, I will forgive you, if you keep posting your photos. They bring back so many memories of happy family times in Malta.

Scentia Mon 22-Feb-21 08:01:04

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it a little damp.
Off to work shortly, we are still very busy at the factory, as it’s just me and DH it doesn’t take much to have ‘Too much work on’. but we never say that out loud so as not to tempt fate!
Can’t wait to see the new little lamb❤️
Took DGS out for a walk yesterday and he is learning all about nature and is quite happy to give a tree a hug and he will sniff everything and listen carefully to the birds etc.. if he keeps this mindfulness I for ever he will be able to cope with anything❤️
Take care everyone and stay safe, let’s see what Boris has for us tonight!

cornergran Mon 22-Feb-21 08:09:10

Morning Mick, morning All. Another gloomy, grey start to our corner of Somerset. We call them Eeyore weather days.

Paper sorting for me this morning, Mr C will be shredder in chief. Random vegetable soup for lunch.

Good to hear you sound brighter marydoll, good luck with the helpful advice. Mojos are hard to find sometimes grandMattie, pleased yours has stopped playing hide n seek and Iris is mobile again. That was odd kitty, a case of mistaken identity maybe. Your lambs make me think Spring is really on its way sheepandcattle, I envy your energy and focus.

Thinking of all with sadness and worries, take care everyone.

Gingster Mon 22-Feb-21 08:09:14

Good morning all . Not a bad start to the day, here in Essex. The weekend weather was lovely and sitting in the conservatory , reading was a joy, . Dh mowed the lawn , I just love that smell of cut grass.

Sheep I watched countryfile last night with the sheep farmer scanning every ewe, and thought of you and your woolly gals. Sad to hear of the twins not making it. ?.

Ashcombe great photo.

I have my Bridge Club Zoom session this afternoon which I’m looking forward to. Gives the day a bit of a purpose. I’ll try again to get DH to phone the docs. He isn’t right and I think it’s the statins he’s on. He’s so stubborn! Even if he could just get a phone consultation.

Well folks I hope you all have a pleasant day. That’s all we can hope for, as I don’t think Boris will be changing our lives much today.

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Feb-21 08:12:02

Good morning all. Dry and cloudy in Polmont. Happy birthday to your dgd Bellasnanna. Like Bellasnanna dgd,my dgs has a birthday today. Dd made his cake. It's a lion king theme and their house is covered in balloons and other stuff. I'm going to join them this morning for a walk in a local park with my son too. I'm looking forward to seeing the lamb Sheepandcattle. Have a good day all.

Scentia Mon 22-Feb-21 08:17:23

Wow Batty that cake is amazing, how talented your DD is.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 22-Feb-21 08:23:57

Morning Mick and everyone from a very wet and chilly Oxfordshire, I did all of my cleaning yesterday, hoping to get into the garden today, hmph......
So a lazy day.
Hope all who have troubles and illness have a peaceful day.
