The Great Pottery Throwdown challenge was for the potters to describe their life in pictures on six tiles.
How would show something of yourself in six pictures, words or symbols.

True Ellianne. Still hanging on. Goodness knows how. I love that Jack Vettriano painting. We have it in our lounge smile

I’m past my hottest years but this made me laugh.

Another Jack Vettriano fan here, we have a wall full of his prints in our conservatory. I too have had to learn to “dance in the rain” especially this past year and losing 4 dear friends. I’m happy to be at this stage of my life and still surrounded by so much love. I’m really close to all 3 AC, plus their partners, and have 5 amazing grandchildren .... plus about 10 life long friends .... ❤️❤️❤️ All you need is love as the song goes, the one thing that keeps me going .....

I have 6 of Jacks paintings. Did have only 4 but decided that since I wasn't spending money anywhere else I would buy another 2.

My choir
WI
Tap Dancing
Piano lessons
Proof editing

That’s my six tiles. However, I am useless at drawing so I doubt anybody would know what each tile represents.

A picture of the River Thames in Henley. I grew up nearby.

Palm tree and a boat. I lived in Seychelles for two years after we got married.

One pink teddie and two blue teddies - to depict a daughter and two sons.

A multitude of cats and cakes. Could be my motif!

A photo of my beautiful granddaughter.

I think my life could be summed up through pictures of vehicles:
1. My Dad's motorbike and side car, Dad on the bike, Mum holding my baby sister and me behind them in the side car.
2. The Vauxhall Viva my boyfriend, later my husband, picked me up in and that I learnt to drive in.
3. The Rolls Royce limo we hired for our wedding.
4. My company car- pulling a caravan.
5. Our motorhome, with the kids looking out of the windows.
6. Our current 'sensible' saloon car, high off the ground for easier access, with grandkids in car seats in the back.

Right now, the best word description of me is "knackered bellows'. I'm usually a very active walker. Diagnosed with Covid 6 weeks ago. No idea how I contracted it. The very short walk from the entrance door of our hospital to X ray left me gasping for air. Please. Take the vaccine.

grandmajet I thought your first post was brilliant, really easy to understand. I think mine would just be one picture- me in a network of family and friends. A bit of a ‘Where’s Wally?’ pic.

LuckyFour Wed 24-Feb-21 14:03:35

Lovely parents (not with us now), and sister.
Wonderful husband and close relationship with our two daughters and grandchildren, much travelling, country cottage, books, poetry, music, and many friends, plus so much more. I think it's made me realise how lucky I've been.
