Lovely Ashcombe, thanks

Good morning from central Scotland where it's very cold and supposed to get colder over the weekend. Nothing planned as usual, just taking it a day at a time. There is no sign of my daffodils in the garden yet, I think I may have planted them too deep. I hope my tulips come up as I made a special trip to garden centre before lockdown to get them. My crocuses have appeared so that's a splash of welcome colour.
Hope everyone has as pleasant a day as they can. I know many are so sad just now due to illnesses and the passing of close ones.

GrannyOwl5 Sat 06-Mar-21 10:54:37

Morning everyone from the north Kent coast where it was bright and sunny but is now clouding over again.

A bitty day today - a bit of this and a bit of that. Might go for a walk later; then again might not!

Good news about MrGaga, but sorry your news wasn’t so good Auntieflo.

Welcome to the thread Berylsgranny. Whereabouts in the country are you and we are all agog waiting to hear about the value of your house.

? to Merlot and Georges

Have a good day. Stay safe

???

Ashcombe Sat 06-Mar-21 10:52:43

Or this.....! ?

Ashcombe Sat 06-Mar-21 10:50:48

Especially for LauraNorder and Urmstongran!

Urmstongran Sat 06-Mar-21 10:33:27

C’mon amselerin I’m looking out for a post from you today! What’s your weather like? x

Nannagarra Sat 06-Mar-21 10:29:53

Sending an especially big hug to Auntieflo. ?

Urmstongran Sat 06-Mar-21 10:25:41

Nice straightforward recipe isn’t it Nannagarra? I shall make it more frequently myself. I’d forgotten how easy and yummy it is.
?

Urmstongran Sat 06-Mar-21 10:23:23

Wishing you all a random pink flamingo in the Lego of life that made me giggle LauraNorder - very clever!

A warm welcome to you Berylsgranny to Mick’s wonderfully uplifting and supportive thread. This and soops are the best here in my opinion.

May we just enquire as to the value of your home? I’m sure you won’t mind telling us what it’s worth? The Daily Mail often quote the value of someone’s house in their articles. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s vital that we know.

Only joking!
??

Nannagarra Sat 06-Mar-21 10:17:54

Good morning from the Sefton coast where I have just heard the call of a curlew. So far woodpeckers and cuckoos are on ‘mute’.
Urms’ recipe for liver and bacon worked a treat so a big thank you is sent! Delish! We so enjoyed it.
Welcome, Berylsgranny. This really is a gentle, caring thread but you need to be aware that it is addictive and that Urms will ask how much your property is worth!
Love just love the titles you give your DH Marydoll! Mine’s a huff and puff too.
It’s encouraging post-op news for Gaga and Sar53. How exciting to be moving, Pittcity. What a long journey you had Grandmafrench but at least you’ve had the first vax now. Thinking of your dog, Gwen.
Sending hugs to Merlot and Georges and to any others who need them. ?

Good morning all, we had a late night Friday, so am sat up in bed drinking tea. That first cup always tastes so delicious! No real plans for today, we have much to do in the garden. Right now I’m catching up on your posts.

Sending good wishes and healing vibes to all who need them.

Marydoll Sat 06-Mar-21 09:54:46

Auntieflo, I'm sorry the news wasn't good.
I now have Alendronic Acid infusions, but not as frequently as you will.
I could no longer tolerate the tablets, but much to my surprise, unusually for me, I had no side effects at all with the infusion. ?

Good morning from West York's another not much to do day we will be having chicken stir fry later .A walk after lunch is on the cards thinking of all going through tough times .

EkwaNimitee Sat 06-Mar-21 09:44:44

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a rather grey Cumbrian coast. It looks like being overcast all day, probably a foretaste of the poor weather predicted for next week. I had planned to mow the lawn to beat the wet weather but as I'm feeling a bit muzzy headed this morning, I'll hold off. Nothing else planned, possibly a reading and self improvement day as it is the weekend after all! I don't know why that matters when you are retired and when you are a retired shift worker who often worked weekends, but it does.
As good day as possible, I hope, to you all.

LauraNorder Sat 06-Mar-21 09:44:40

Auntieflo, such a struggle for you flowers.

Marydoll Sat 06-Mar-21 09:42:41

Grannysomerset, I would have made cream cakes, but the cream was missing too! However, I have a few tired strawberries, which I will turn into strawberry tarts. I am the master of invention.
We also have some tired oranges and lemons, which may go into a sponge cake.

Weicome, Berylsgranny!

LauraNorder Sat 06-Mar-21 09:41:47

Good morning Mick and all from dry but cold Anglesey.
A warm welcome to Berylsgranny, where are you in the world?
Glad you had a good sleep at last Gagagran and hope Mr Gaga is safely home soon.
Exciting news Pittcity, looking forward to hearing about your lovely new home in due course.
Super photos of blossom trees, blue sea and a gorgeous sunset.
Thinking of our bereaved friends coping with their sadness.
Wishing you all a random pink flamingo in the Lego of life. grandMattie knows what I mean.

Auntieflo Sat 06-Mar-21 09:40:16

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all. Dry and bright here, but probably cold.
Had my visit to the oncologist yesterday, and was given a handful of pamphlets to read, regarding the tablets that I shall have to take after an assessment by the nurses. I will have to start having an infusion, 4 weekly, of a substitute for the Alendronic acid that I take at present. Regular blood tests are also forecast. DH and DD were with me, she taking copious notes as usual. As we have my brother's funeral in a couple of weeks, the consultant said that I could start my treatment afterwards, as my immune system would likely be lowered. I must admit to feeling low after the visit.
Still, today is another day, and we need to do a shop for fresh items.
Love to see the pictures that are posted with signs of spring.

Glad to hear that Gagagran's DH is recovering well, and also Sar53 DD .
Thinking of Merlot, Dragonfly,and Georgesgran.
Marydoll, please don't go overdoing things.
Take care everyone, and have a good day.

GrannySomerset Sat 06-Mar-21 09:39:06

Early sun has now vanished behind thin cloud and it is still very chilly, but with nothing in the diary a walk to the village and maybe some gardening will fill the day. A friend passed on a bag of dark brown sugar which she bought in error and doesn’t like or use, so I may make a ginger cake to share with her. That’s quite enough for one day!

Hope Marydoll gets her cream cake, that the various convalescents makes good progress and that the bereaved and suffering know that we are thinking of them.

Berylsgranny Sat 06-Mar-21 09:27:47

May I join? Been watching this thread for a while. It's a glorious sunny but cold day here but so nice for a walk which I intend to today. So much to keep an eye on on this thread and I'm not sure if I will remember everything everyone is doing so forgive me please. Hoping everyone has a good day, sun lifts your spirits.

Kalu Sat 06-Mar-21 09:06:06

What a lovely dream Marydoll. If Baggs reads this; you won’t mind if we turn up at yours I’m sure. ?. Good luck with your search finding someone to do your decking. Coming up with ideas is the best part, finding someone to do the job is a different story.

Urmstongran Sat 06-Mar-21 09:04:41

Oops! Sorry. I did think you were super lucky!!
?

Pittcity Sat 06-Mar-21 09:01:38

We are only getting our first jab as we are mere spring chickens!!

Urmstongran Sat 06-Mar-21 08:59:48

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s dry and cold. Himself will be going on a bike ride this afternoon with our 8y old boy wonder. I shall meet up with the rest of the little family in the park for a walk and talk. It’s lovely to see them all once a week, weather permitting. It’s only 5 minutes from the square. I shall put on extra layers and take over some coffees for us in a little ‘egg tray’ type carrier.

Will shower & hairwash on return, put on clean pj’s and order curry for tonight.

Time to get cracking - Saturday = fried bacon & egg on toast.

Hope Saturday is good to us all. Great news about second jabs Pantglas and Pittcity! Plus you’re on the move Pittcity how exciting. Lovely description of life in France GrandmaFrench makes me eager to get on a plane again, sit in the sun and stroll along the paseo looking at the sparkling Mediterranean again! That said, my sister who lives in Casares now they’ve retired, said it was cold and raining where they are yesterday. Stopped me feeling envious.

Loved that orange sunset Gelisajam and your dry stone wall is gorgeous.

Thinking of our missing posters this weekend. Hope you all come back soon. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
