Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight already here in Brackley this morning, but remains dry as well.
Today , await morning call ,and then do a small shop locally .
Been having thoughts on distance travel in the future .
Dreams of getting bus other than official appointments, to go and have a coffee and socialised and reunite with people I have not seen for ages.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a grey looking Essex. Chilly too.

Yesterday started off strangely. I could here a lot of noise upstairs coming from the bathroom. Eventually I went up and DH was stuck in the bath! He’s put on weight and lost a lot of strength in his arms and legs since having a TIA last year. We are only 70 so this shouldn’t be happening. I still think it’s the higher dose statins he’s been on. The doc has prescribed his original ones so hope he improves. Six months ago he was playing golf 3 times a week and tennis once a week, . Now he just about manages a 20 minute amble.

Anyway I did manage to get him out(of the bath) ??

DS1 and his lovely wife stopped by on their walk just for a 10 minute chat on the doorstep. It brightened us up . Always have a laugh with them. ?.

Littlest GD (5) can’t wait for school. She said her brothers (14) are looking forward to it, but she is really, really looking forward to it. Hope it lives up to expectations, ?.

GD1 decided to go back to Uni on Saturday. She has to have placements and practical tuition so needed to go. (Mental health nursing course). I think they’ll all be doing case studies on each other due to the lock-downs and feeling sad and lonely.

Zoom bridge class today, so I’ll get my brain ready for action.

Wishing you all a gentle day. ??

Good morning Mick and all from Anglesey where it’s still a bit dull but seems warmer.
A walk along the beach, an attempt at a drawing of a ‘warm hearth’ for my art group challenge.and my turn to cook dinner tonight, beans on toast it is then!
Hoping you all find a random flamingo ? today.

harrigran Mon 08-Mar-21 08:11:05

Good morning from an overcast, damp NE.
We had torrential rain during the night.
I stayed put in bed and didn't retreat to the spare room with my book so perhaps I will not be so tired today.
We have a school around the corner and the tinies like to swing the chains between our fence posts as they pass. Interesting that the most excited chatter seems to be with the Grans who deliver and collect them.
My sister is getting her vaccination in Germany, she is 80+ and will have to take a taxi across the city to get it.
A quiet day today with some light housework.

nanna8 Mon 08-Mar-21 08:13:19

A very sad day today because one of my friends died very unexpectedly in the night. I am stunned and upset because she was younger than me and seemed to be in good health. She had a heart attack. It is a suitably wet afternoon, miserable and sad.

Urmstongran Mon 08-Mar-21 08:19:07

? for you nanna8 such a shock.

grannysyb Mon 08-Mar-21 08:21:25

Chilly and grey outside. So sorry to hear your sad news, nanna8, a terrible shock for you. Must do some housework this morning and some sewing this afternoon. Cold beef salad tonight. Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning from a cloudy Northampton. If it doesn't rain I shall have another hour outside gardening today. Cut the pyracantha right back yesterday, and emptied a few pots of their poorly plants. The cats also had their first outing of the year.

When the wind is in the right direction I can hear the children in the playground at DGD2's school (which is also the school I used to teach at). I will be thinking of both DGDs today.

Nothing else planned, apart from sorting the laundry basket to see if I can make up a full load. Sausages for tea tonight.

Take care and stay safe.

Susan56 Mon 08-Mar-21 08:27:40

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s not quite as cold this morning.??

nanna8 sorry to hear about your friend. What a shock for you.?

Our usual quiet Monday preparing for our early start and childcare tomorrow.

We are thinking about getting out and about too Mick. Our first overnight stay will be to see my in laws hopefully at the end of May.I am not looking forward to staying in a hotel but we haven’t seen them since January last year and my FIL is not very well. Its on our minds every day hoping we can get there.

Thinking of Lins, dragonfly and all our missing posters.Cherry, hope you are doing ok.?

Also thinking of everyone with illness and struggles at the moment?

Have a good day all?

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It has rained during the night so the fields will be soggy again. Roadside walking for my 10,000 steps today.
Yesterday’s plans fell apart when the coffee shop was shut and the path around the lakeside cordoned off, apparently to keep the area Covid safe. Hmmm. Plan B was hastily created but our walk ended on main road with no footpath. Fortunately it want too busy.
DD2 and I had dinner ‘together’ over zoom. It was nice to have some company. She had a candle on her table, I had my vase of daffodils. Good to make the effort.
Chatting and reading with DGS this afternoon. Covid test tomorrow for him and school on Wednesday. He’s certainly ready to go back.
nanna8 such a shock flowers
Stay safe everyone.

grandmajet Mon 08-Mar-21 08:43:30

Good morning to you all from a greyish Nottinghamshire where we are hoping to continue with our attack on the moss in our lawn. The garden bin is pretty full after yesterday. The moss was raked and gathered, and Grandpajet was using the mower to hoover up the remains when he told me that the mower had given up the ghost after six years. Later I went out to get in the washing and saw something shining on the grass - it was the pin of the mower plug! So, not broken after all! Our trip to find a new one is now cancelled! Just a new plug. We still need seed and grass food plus a few other bits and pieces for the garden and bird feeders.
As for house prices around here Urmstongran, they are definitely there or thereabouts depending on demand!
Yesterday I saw my pink flamingo in the form of a bullfinch, on the sunflower hearts. Beautiful.
Enjoy today folks, I will keep reading and getting to know you all.

Good Morning all from a dull still N. Bucks.
DH has just left to take his Mum for a pre cataract op COVID test. When he returns we are both going to meet friends for a walk It seems strange that the two men will go off together and likewise us ladies. If we end up in the same place with a coffee we will have to make sure we are well socially distanced.

DGS (5) is very excited to be going to school and seeing his
friends.

Chat with Doctor this afternoon re. recent health problems .

Thoughts with all who are sad, ill or worried.
Hope you all find a ?today.

baubles Mon 08-Mar-21 08:53:57

You’ve made me realise that the friends I was thinking of all live at least a 30 minute drive from me Urms. I guess I’ve been obeying the ‘stay at home’ instructions for so long that it doesn’t seem like a reasonable excuse to be in the road. ?

Greyduster Mon 08-Mar-21 08:55:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire. I wrote this post once and then my iPad went dead and it disappeared! A cleaning morning for us today, an online search for a new energy deal, and then a scout round the garden if it stays dry. After yesterday’s stew and dumplings dinner will be something light. I was trying to explain to GS what a dumpling was. “What’s inside them?” “Nothing; they’re not like Chinese dumplings - they’re like fluffy clouds that float on top of the stew!” “Well I can’t see the point of them then!” Has there ever been a point to dumplings? Only if you’re fourteen, it seems! I sent him a photo. He wasn’t impressed!
Have a good day folks!

dustyangel Mon 08-Mar-21 08:55:57

Good Morning all, it’s bright but cloudy out there at the moment. Whether the the sun will get through or it will be another rainy day is anybody’s guess.
A medical sort of day as our X-rays should be ready to collect but we both have physiotherapy first. Have a good day every one, I shall catch up with all your news later.

NanKate Mon 08-Mar-21 09:03:42

Good morning Mick and All.

Grey morning here in South Bucks.

Well my 2 grandsons are back to school full time today, hurray. Their teacher may not recognise them as they both look as if they are wearing long wigs, alas no it is their own hair. I gave their dad the money to get their hair cut and then we had lockdown. I suggested he trimmed their fringes but the eldest has refused to have that done. He likes to flick his hair back ?I seem to be the only one in the family who is shocked that they look like ragamuffins. Heyho there are more important things to worry about I suppose.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Mar-21 09:06:54

nanna8 sorry for your loss flowers

We live next door but one to a lovely little Primary School, watching the tinies skipping into school, hearing their laughter and chatter (including GS) lifted my heart ❤️

dustyangel Mon 08-Mar-21 09:12:56

I felt the need to look out this photograph for you allhmm. The reason GS is smiling to himself is because he knows darn well that he is braking two cardinal rules. The first being no alcohol in the pool area and the second even more important no glass near the pool. Also he knew I wouldn’t be able to resist taking the photo. grin

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 09:13:47

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

brook2704 Mon 08-Mar-21 09:14:04

nanna8 sorry to hear about your friend, so sad ?

Grandmajean Mon 08-Mar-21 09:18:31

Good morning from Cheshire. Feels a bit milder today.
Three of the four GC back at school today.
Son and GS popped round yesterday on way back from football kickabout. Unfortunately ,DD and DG also turned up while on a dog walk. Very briefly had three groups of two in the driveway for all to see. We quickly dispersed but wish they would talk to each other before turning up and it wouldn't happen like that.

Grandmajean Mon 08-Mar-21 09:19:32

Sorry - new to this.
DG should read DGD

hollysteers Mon 08-Mar-21 09:19:54

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Yes Mick, my thoughts and I’m sure many others here, are straying towards going ‘tripping’. Nice as one’s surroundings may be, I think we all need a change of scenery!
Off for routine blood tests this morning. At least I hope it’s this morning as I’m confused about my dates and the doc is engaged.
Nice walk with friend yesterday, who pointed out all the extensive building work going on to improve houses in the area. She has grey roots now and we have both put a little weight on, cheery to chat to dogwalkers which made it more of an event, I had a nap in the afternoon which hardly ever happens now. Wake up feeling dopey and it’s not good for the coming nights sleep.
I left a landline phone out two days ago on a stone bench in the back garden. Put it back on its stand, so will see how it gets on.
Thinking of the sick and the well with worries.

Gagagran Mon 08-Mar-21 09:25:01

Good Morning. Very cold start here on the south coast but the sun is out now.

We have had a setback with DH who is now confined to bed with a drip, and a nasogastric tube after violent sickness in the night. He has only had a bowl of thin soup and a jelly on Saturday lunchtime and been Nil by mouth since then. His surgeon is coming to see him this morning.

This feels like a repeat performance from last summer after his first big surgery. They got him fixed then so I am sure they will do so again

Oldbutstilluseful Mon 08-Mar-21 09:26:38

So sorry Nanna8 to hear of the unexpected death of your friend. Condolences to you and her family.

Grandmajean Mon 08-Mar-21 09:28:05

Baubles
Not sure am allowed to ask this so sorry if not permitted. Where in Lanarkshire are you ? I am originally from Burnbank.
