Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight already here in Brackley this morning, but remains dry as well.
Today , await morning call ,and then do a small shop locally .
Been having thoughts on distance travel in the future .
Dreams of getting bus other than official appointments, to go and have a coffee and socialised and reunite with people I have not seen for ages.
Take Care,
Mick

Auntieflo Mon 08-Mar-21 09:32:18

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all.
StrippIng the beds and more washing later on for us, when I can get myself motivated.
I have been waiting for a text from the chemist, to say that my prescription was ready to collect. It arrived yesterday, just after 4.30pm, and the chemist closed at 4.00! I had been eking out my tablets so that I had one left to take this morning. So a visit to town also, a bit later on. The excitement knows no bounds.
We heard in Sat morning, that a friend from Church, had died on Friday evening. So sad. I have known her for 40 years or more.
I think our temporary neighbour will be moving soon. She has rented the house, for nearly a year now, and her new home will soo be ready. We will miss her, as she is a lovely person.
Last week I took the pinking shears to my fringe, so that I could see, but I do need a proper haircut.
Scentia here's hoping that you soon get you aches and pains sorted out.
I hope your DH enjoys his golf Marydoll, and your fluttering eyelashes persuade the delivery chap to put the BBQ 'round the back'
We are expecting a lamp to be delivered today, but it is evidently not due here until between 5-6 pm. Oh well, we've waited weeks for it to come, so another few hours won't make any difference.
Nanna8, condolences.
Sending best wishes to all our out of sorts GN's .
Take care and have a good day one and all.

Sorry to hear your DH has a setback Gagagran I do hope that the medics can sort him out flowers

NannyJan53 Mon 08-Mar-21 09:39:26

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

9 year DGD's back at school today, although her sister in Secondary school goes back on Thursday. They are looking forward to it.

We have a Gas Engineer booked for today as it needs a service, and it keeps switching itself off!

MrJan mentioned to his DD last night he had a bit of a sore throat and sniffle. She booked a Covid test, and it has just arrived, via Royal Mail. That was quick! I really don't think (hope) it is not that.

Chicken soup is on the go from the chicken last night, so that is about the excitement of our day.

So sorry to hear about your friend nanna8 flowers

Taichinan Mon 08-Mar-21 09:40:40

Good morning all from a light grey day on the Angus coast. I think we're all hankering after that light at the end of the tunnel, Mick, the longest one I've ever been through. I can't actually imagine "bring free" anymore, and I'm sure I've lost the ability to hold a conversation. But I suppose it will be a bit like riding a bicycle - once you're on it you soon remember!
I know what you mean baubles - I think our lockdown rules have been much stricter than those down south. But then again my nearest family is 30 miles away, and nearest AC and GCs are 80 miles away so meeting up even for a coffee and a stroll would mean crossing a few county lines!
nanna8 so sorry to hear about your friend ?. Such a shock for everyone.
Today will be another day, and topping up the water in the pond will be the highlight! I've already checked to see if the two competing daffs have bloomed, but they haven't.
Have the best day you can everyone - and watch out for the pink flamingos! ????

Taichinan Mon 08-Mar-21 09:44:34

gagagran here's to DH's speedy recovery ?. Such a worry.

LauraNorder Mon 08-Mar-21 09:45:05

Gagagran, I’m sorry to hear about your husband’s setback. Worrying for you both but, as you say, the medics sorted it last time and they will again flowers

Taichinan Mon 08-Mar-21 09:49:07

dustyangel ?. Even pink flamingos can't be perfect all the time!

Grandmafrench Mon 08-Mar-21 09:52:35

Good Morning from sunlit S of France......making a Monday feel better.
So sorry about your friend, Nanna. Everything crossed that your DH’s recovery hiccup will be just that, gaga. Have a careful and happy day after your sad news, AuntieFlo, Hopefully your Doc will just tell you to slow down a little, Scentia and whatever the problem, it’ll soon be gone.
Gingster definitely query the different statins. Muscle weakness is a quite common side effect for some people. You know he’s not been right, so you need to speak over your DH, if possible. Sometimes people are too willing to accept and adjust when they should really be insisting on better treatment!

GC’s make lots of noise as you return to a bit of normal school life today. Grans everywhere are tired of the silence ?

Flamingoes out in force here. I’m about to have a garden coffee and do some weed removal while waiting for pool tile delivery. (That’s code for sitting in a deck chair?)!

Stay safe all, feel better soon dwmxwg. Love and warm hugs to everyone in need.

⛱?‍♀️???

Good morning, Mick and everyone, it's a chilly rainy day here on the Cumbrian coast but it's trying to brighten up so here's hoping. I find a grey day literally depressing and am missing my winters in Spain. It's housework and laundry day though so plenty to get on with and buck me up.
I did go for a drive yesterday as it turned out sunny after all. It's a good job I went because I saw that major road works start today. Exiting the next town onto a large roundabout with the main road, I spotted no less than 6 police vans. One driver had been stopped then let go, the police remained. I was very curious. It was the sort of manpower you would expect for a raid on county lines drug criminals but perhaps a bit early in the day for those people. Surely they weren't after covid regs breakers? There was certainly a steady stream of cars heading towards the Lakes, somewhere I am restraining myself from visiting as it definitely isn't 'local'.
So, lots of police people but no lambs. The woolly ladies are still lounging about in the fields.
Have a good day, everyone, they are flying by, freedom is getting closer!

Good morning all from a rainy grey Lancashire. Looks like the daily walk may be off. I don’t mind the rain but it gets slippery underfoot, which is a real hazard for me. The exercise bike will be pressed into service.

Take care all. Have a peaceful day and healing thoughts to the sad Grans today.

EllanVannin Mon 08-Mar-21 09:56:53

Good Morning All x.
Dull but dry out with no frost though it's on the cool side.

We too have had the news of the sudden death of a neighbour.
It was the old chap that I used to keep an eye on down the garden where if his bedroom window wasn't open I'd know he'd had a fall, which I'd see through the window.
He had been taken to hospital a couple of weeks ago after a fall but had been joking with the nurses, then died suddenly.
A real character who'll be missed.

No cooking as such for me today as I've got half the meat and potato pie left from yesterday so it can go in the oven on a low light later. Just more brocolli to cook that's all.

Just looking at the rain in Liverpool on the news. None here and I'm only across the water from there. I'll have to keep my eye on the neighbour's washing that she left out. Nobody will see me in my dressing gown grin

I might just see D today with the children being back at school so I must make myself presentable just in case or she may think I'm ill if not dressed. ( laziness)
Shopping list for the online delivery ready to do today and must get the census done later too. That's enough excitement for one day-----musn't overdo it grin

Hope everyone's well and looking forward to seeing various family members in the not too distant future. We'll get there slowly but surely.
Thoughts to those not having the best of times xx Absent friends flowers

Have the best day you can, take care and stay safe.

Nannytopsy Mon 08-Mar-21 10:21:12

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
It’s light grey here in Suffolk this morning. Yesterday turned into a lovely afternoon and I planted all my onions Jax ! More gardening today.
I hope DH improves GG and ?for all of you who have had sad news this weekend.
We woke very late this morning so better get moving. When I woke up, I was dreaming of toast with jam. I reached out for mine and was so disappointed that it wasn’t there! Better fire up the toaster. ?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

muse Mon 08-Mar-21 10:36:59

Very frosty in the shade here in Cornwall still. Blue skies.

Crispy walk with Mya. Don't know who's the more desperate for a morning poop. Me first today blush Good to see her so regular now. Had to smile watching her - steam coming from her rear end grin

GrandmaBatty. Can I join you today? All my favourite meals/food.

Urm Enjoy your walk with coffee in hand.

Mick I dream the same. I travel by plane to see my daughter (Newquay to Manchester). So cheap (£90 return), comfortable (no traffic queues) and quick (50 mins). Hoping for the flights to start up again. Flybe shut down sad

Sorry to hear about your loss (nana8 and auntyflo)

Main job is ordering lots of wood and pavers for the raised bed area. Off to collect the screws and a new hose spray before Mya's long walk. These hosepipe sprays don't last 5 mins. Plastic is pathetic. MrM says look for a metal spray gun. Only ones I can find are jet wash ones. Pity the poor little seedlings!

Toodle pip me ol' dears smile.

Grammaretto Mon 08-Mar-21 10:50:38

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is damp, cold and overcast.
I need a bit of sunshine before I feel like gardening. The onion sets haven't arrived yet so I can't plant them anyway. There is an electrician at work doing some of the jobs I have waited months for.
Sorry your DH has had a setback gagagran. I know what you mean when you say you have to trust the doctors.
What a shock for you nana8.
I am sorry too that you have had sad news auntieflo but had to laugh at the thought of cutting your hair with pinking sheers.
Why didn't I think of that! grin
I think we await a further announcement this week in Scotland - am I right? at least the tinies are back at school and nursery. Such a relief for DD. she won't know what to do with all this spare time ha! ha!

Feelingmyage55 Mon 08-Mar-21 10:53:48

Good morning from a grey and damp north of Scotland. I hope “sheep’s” beautiful, brand new lamb has had a good night. That photo yesterday warmed my heart, though I didn’t read the thread until the evening.
“nanna8”. How sad and what a shock.
In spite of the weather, the local golf course is busy now, so will have to avoid it on my walk.
I admired the Pope yesterday - his commitment and bravery -wonderful.
Have the best day you can.

Nannagarra Mon 08-Mar-21 10:53:59

Good morning from the Sefton coast where the sun is breaking through the cloud.
Today’s activity will be identifying charging leads for bike lights, torches, headphones etc which DH has ‘stored’ (rammed) in a drawer. It’s such a bewildering tangled mess it will require his help. His thoughts are not on this, however, but on ousting the pigeon nest from DS1’s solar panels with the aid of my extending window cleaning pole ...
I’m sorry to hear the sad news from three ladies about of the loss of their friends. May Mrgaga have a better day.
Sending ???to those who are under the weather for whatever reason.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:07:52

What a worry, Gagagran hope improvements come quickly.
Hugs for Nana8 what a shock and Auntieflo

Grandmajean - I'm nosey as well, I was born in Chester, we lived in Newry Park at the time, are you anywhere near?

nanna8 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:12:11

Thanks for your caring thoughts. I suppose when a thing like that happens you realise how very precious life is and we must make the most of it. My friend was very talented and I just wish I had told her how much I admired her. She used to make costumes for theatre performances.

Stilllearning Mon 08-Mar-21 11:14:50

A late good morning from S Lanarkshire, I’ll read later but post just now since I didn’t manage at all yesterday and today’s heading the same way!
Lovely morning visit yesterday to my daughter’s farm, to help celebrate my second oldest GD’s 16th birthday. Luckily they are in the same county as me so all legal and above board. We were quite sheltered in the farmyard and unbelievably there was sunshine, so we could have birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday quite comfortably.
Big sister had baked the cake and had very cleverly stuck the candle holders into a banana which could be lifted up so the birthday girl could blow the candles out without breathing on the cake! I thought it would be quite a good thing for post Covid times too.
I’ll catch up on all the news later but for now wish everyone a good day. It was so lovely to be with family even for three quarters of an hour yesterday I think I found a?x

Mapleleaf Mon 08-Mar-21 11:26:58

Good morning from a slowly brightening but damp South Yorkshire. It seems to have stopped raining for now but I suspect it's going to be a showery sort of day.

As usual, not a lot planned. I've got some ironing to do so will get on with that shortly.

So sorry about your friend * nanna8*. Such a shock for you. ?

Yes, mick it will be good when we can go on our travels again. It's nice to dream, and one day we'll be able to go away if we want to.

Take care everyone.

Litterpicker Mon 08-Mar-21 11:58:31

Good morning Mick and all. Cloudy, breezy, sunny and cold here in West Sussex. Not looking forward to gales and rain later in the week just as the ground was drying out, but it is March so ...

Shouldn’t be reading on here really as I requested a number of books from the library after reading reviews. They all arrived at once but at least three have been requested by other people - how dare they grin.

So sorry to hear of the loss of friends and neighbours. It’s especially hard with a sudden, unexpected death. Hope MrG improves quickly.

Back to my reading though the garden is calling too. No more GN today!
