Why should the RF fork out of their own pockets for security? Had they remained working members of the RF they'd have had security and they knew they'd lose it when they left.

I haven't questioned the validity of M's claims she had suicidal thoughts, but I dismiss her claim that she asked for help and it was refused by 'the firm' and her own husband. That within hours of 'breaking down' she attended an evenings entertainment where she wept as soon as the lights went down, and yet was able to shake hands with the performers with her make up in tact, and not a red eye to be seen.

As for H making her go in such distress and 5 months pregnant because he was afraid to leave her alone, come off it.

Same here, I didn't think it was possible to like her any less but it is!! Don't like Piers Morgan but I think he spoke for millions when he said he didn't believe a word she said. She is the centre of her own universe, she's dumped everyone along the way and she'll dump Harry, she'll keep the children, her meal ticlet for life, nannies will deal with them.

And she won’t let anyone or anything get in her way.

If the RF are so dignified and magnanimous they should still support their children no matter what, even forking out of their own pockets for security - after all, they are still targets by virtue of their relatives. But no they want to pull up the drawbridge and cast those who don't toe the line adrift.

No they shouldn't. H&M had the option to stay and learn from the older members of the RF how to deal with this, they chose to leave and their choice was supported. Just not with money. The drawbridge is still down, the RF have made that extra clear time and time again, it is H&M who refuse to cross it.

My job as a parent is to love and support my children to become independent loving and supportive adults. Not clingy leaches who can never stand on their own two feet either emotionally or financially.

NellG I believe it is an accepted fact that it is difficult for one member of a couple to provide support for the other's mental health problems if they are suffering difficulties themselves. H lost his mother at an early age, has a father who is noticably dysfunctional (however hard he tried) lived a very ordered and structured life in school and the army, and then was somewhat adrift. It's highly likely he had his own problems.

Exactly Smiles - it's not as if digital files don't last forever is it and he wont be able to find out how his parents used that as a justification for there choices when they could just have easily kept it private between them, taken it up with the person in question and protected their own child from further toxicity...

He's guaranteed to, his parents put it in the public domain. For his sake I'd have kept that private, but that was up to them. Meghan obviously thought it was better that the whole world heard her accusation.

They can only hope that Archie will be more forgiving of his parents than they've been of theirs Nell.

There is confusion over the timing though as although Harry said the comment was made before they were married Meghan claimed Harry told her when she was pregnant with Archie. Why would he do that?

I'm about as effed up mentally as it comes, it doesn't prevent me from being able to support other people or recognise when they need help. But that's me and I'd wager I'm a little less self absorbed than M or H.

As far as I can discover via Google greeneyedgirl four English monarchs, in the last 200 years, married their cousins.

One of those didn’t have an heir. It’s hardly repeatedly breeding.

He did yell at someone, “WHAT MEGHAN WANTS MEGHAN GETS” when she was having a paddy over the tiara’s and which one she wanted, so what stopped him from picking up the phone if she was so distressed. It doesn’t make sense.

Tickingbird - yes marriage between first cousins is unacceptable in many cultures. There is a higher risk of genetic, physical and mental health problems being passed to the children of those unions. Lots of research to back that up

Having had ‘significant MH input’ doesn’t rule out the possibility of a patient in crisis, under what they experience as intolerable stress, returning to bad coping mechanisms/. No matter how well informed they may be.

He says he now recognises that those dark suicidal thoughts in the night need to be shared with his wife a Fiona. Then with his psychiatrist the following morning. He didn’t know this in his 30’s, then he drank.

Keep on batting trisher. I know we don’t always see eye to eye -but this is one of those rare occasions when we do.

Thank you IAM64 I only ask because it’s widely practiced in certain communities in this country but those among us that think the Guardian article is great and love it, would be loath to praise such an article if it appeared in another publication citing said practice in those communities. An Oscar winner couldn’t hide fear and panic , she was allegedly thinking of suicide but was such a good actress she put in her glad rags, loads of eye make up and greeted and beamed ? No way
