Can I suggest that everyone goes out and buys a copy of today's Times? Trevor Phillips has written the best and most balanced article you will see anywhere -sorry, can't post a link as it's behind a paywall.

Can I ask which bit it’s in ? I have Times online.

Murdoch won’t get a penny of my money.

Is this how one treats, in Prince Harry's own words 'the family she never had '? Kate was not 'put on hold' ten years for nothing.Kate was to be Williams queen, different position? yes, but never the less for Meghan as a bride of a prince, life would, inevitably, never be the same.
Shame on Harry if for one moment he could not see the 'warning' signs that in the early days of their marriage his 'new' wife was' struggling'.Was it not up to him to introduce his wife to a 'life' that royalty is not always 'ivory towers' / princes and princesses.

Yes!
I’ve been reading though all the hearsay on here and I guess you’ve got it perfectly!

Hearsay is quire a polite way of putting it. I’ve got several other suggestions but won’t risk it.

Morning all smile

So...having had a catch up, no one on Gransnet has a racist bone in their body except for me who's the only one who can admit to knowing I possess racist thinking, even though I don't act it out.

Oprah is a rubbish actress as an interviewer, but a great actress in films.

MM is just rubbish.

Harry is a poor deluded dimwit with a sad childhood, so it might make him at least a bit OK.

Everyone got picked on.

The Queen has 007 as her personal assassin.

No one is any the wiser and the majority are still in a boat, sailing up a river in Egypt.

Am I caught up?

grin

Probably annsixty and Lucca, most probably grin I guess it’s all entertainment during lockdown. And the number of people anyone can discuss things with at the moment is very limited. It’s passed the time and makes not a jot of difference to the RF or Meghan and Harry. Though there is a poster called gangan something, and I’ve wondered if it’s the Queen grin as apparently William’s children call the Queen gangan.

Thanks Alegrias accepted smile

I am drawn to this thread like a moth to a flame, I really don’t know why.
It is rapidly approaching 1000 posts and I sincerely hope no-one will start it again.
I cannot see that anyone has had their perspective/ opinion changed, many of us had our thoughts on HandM long before Oprah and they were not likely to be derailed.

Oh they will, annsixty, they will.

No worries Lucca. Apology accepted.

I'm not sure there was any "piling in" on you though. Just observations while you were busy. Unlike Meghan I don't have a list of friends who I can message to come on GN to support me! grin

Lucca Sat 13-Mar-21 10:37:34

UG. I haven’t looked at the cartoon thread for ages as I seem to remember finding some a bit “off” and didn’t want to get involved !!

Urmstongran

Just popped back.
I ❤️ your joke Lucca - I’m going to borrow it & share today it’s so funny! Is it on our cartoon thread? If not you might want to put it on.
??

UG. Just google the words “both of them Your majesty “

seacliff Sat 13-Mar-21 10:35:29

Yes of course they had already discussed it all before the interview. Very fake shocked face from Oprah. M&m likes to be in control of everything so I am sure she knew exactly what was going to be discussed and had probably been practicing her facial expressions beforehand.
It seemed strange right at the end when filming had finished that she burst out laughing.

Nominated. Excellent actress. Watch it, maybe you'll learn something about race.

I regard that comment as unnecessarily rude.

Actually you're quite right maddyone, I posted that and I shouldn't have, it was rude. My apologies.

maddyone Sat 13-Mar-21 10:29:14

Oprah’s acting in the interview was extremely poor. It was so evident that her ‘shock’ at what was being revealed was fake.

No, No, No Lucca. The picture itself is funny I agree!!

What IS silly is that GN doesn't reproduce the image on here!

Doesn't this just go to show how people misconstrued a comment and read into it the wrong message?

Absolutely Ellianne! I 'got' your post immediately. I abandoned a post once because quote doesn't include the image. Lucca has totally misinterpreted your post.

Let’s all pile in on Lucca who misunderstood a post ! Apologies to Ellianne.

I would have apologised to ellianne sooner but for the fact I was doing some tidying up and housework ..... most unusual.

Again I apologise......to Ellianne.

Lillie

OnwardandUpward

That's true Annie, except we don't have any facts of what was actually said. I think the mystery which was created has got everyone talking, but I think without it, everyone would have long tired of M&H.

It was clever of them from a tv drama perspective to create a mystery without any proof or facts, but incredibly divisive.

Your take on this fits well by me OnwardandUpward. I would go as far as to say the "mystery" that was created comes very close to being a downright lie. Not necessarily what was said, but how it was said and what WASN'T meant by it. Harry obviously wasn't over concerned as he didn't mention it to Meghan until months later. Or maybe he did mention it earlier but it didn't suit her narrative at the time before the wedding.
You are right, the audience is cleverly left hanging like in a TV drama. I wonder how long we will have to wait for the real proof. Harry and the person are the only ones who have proof.

So true @Lillie Without fact there are only half truths or rumours that mat be calculated to damage.

If only the two who have proof would speak up so we wouldnt be left hanging, we could forget all about those who want a private life! grin

Well I thought it could have been an episode of ‘Suits’. Meghan was playing her part, same person, same expression, same glib talk.

That's silly! (Not you Lucca). Why doesn't the picture get reproduced when you select quote?
It makes the post a bit meaningless.

I've noticed that too, Ellianne
For some reason it doesn't.

She was astounding in the color purple, it was an amazing film.

Did someone say somewhere that Oprah received an Oscar, or some other award for her acting? At any rate, it was said somewhere that she acted well in a film. Well I don’t recall watching a film with Oprah in it, but based on what I saw of the interview (not the whole interview by any means) she’s a very poor actress. She came across as absolutely fake every time she ‘reacted’ to the latest revelation from Meghan, who on the hand, impressed me hugely with her acting skills.
