That's okay Lucca I couldn't understand why you said it!
On a lighter note, there is woke and overly woke, and whilst concerns about the environment etc. are perfectly justified there are some people who seem to look for things to be outraged about. For anyone who hasn't seen this:

Piers Morgan walking off set this morning
(185 Posts)Well I actually missed it, but have just been shown the vid of Alex Beresford giving his take on Meghan & Harry, I must say I don’t think it’s done Piers any favours upping and walking off like that

How many times today have I read one GN “the woke brigade”. Without any explanation from the users as to what exactly they mean !
Well I have just explained what I mean by the term so how do you justify that comment?
Sincere apologies I think I was distracted and posted this on the wrong thread as “woke brigade” appears in various places.
I’ve read your explanation but surely some people can be “woke” without being hypocrites ? (I agree there some who appear hypocritical though.)
I’m not keen on the term but I take it as describing people being “aware” and “caring about” issues such as the environment and prejudice ?
But that's true and has been explained by PM. He has discussed his relationship with her frequently, including releasing the private messages between them. I cant tell you how many times PM has discussed his 'relationship' with Meghan markle.

* Grannyrose* did you even watch the piers Morgan /Alex beresford debate there was absolutely no personal attack Alex Beresford spoke calmly and articulately unlike the flouncing, shouty Morgan
Most to the discussion was quite reasonable I agree. But the bit I am referring to was when AB repeatedly said PM had had a personal relationship with MM and therefore didn't like her.
This was repeated even after PM had explained that he hadn't known MM well, or for very long. That made it personal and IMO unprofessional.
Though I agree PM should have taken it on the chin, I was saying that I understood why, on this occasion, he didn't.
BlueBell You obviously think his good points outweigh his bad or else you wouldn’t be on the fence
If I thought that I would not be on the fence! I would be on his side.

I m afraid I think Woke is a ridiculous Americanism which Morgan played on at every opportunity, it’s a complete cop out anyone with any kind of valid point that doesn’t fit in with the other s opinion is derided as being ‘woke’

I think the problem I have with him is that I really can’t work out what he really believes in apart from himself and his own self interest. Wasn’t he a huge Trump fan for a while and decamped to the US where he bombed? He’s always imo, after the next opportunity so if I ever agree with anything he says I know that he probably doesn’t even agree with it himself but it’s opportune at the moment to say it. I think he’s a moral vacuum ( and he’s not the only one)

I can definitely sit on the fence here. I have explained that I recognise and dislike his faults but also admire some of the things he's done. He has very polarising good points and bad points which is why I sit on the fence.
The woke brigade are, for example, virtue signallers who tell the rest of us how to behave whilst doing the opposite themselves. And people who look for things to be insulted about and will take every opportunity to complain about them.
I don’t understand how anyone can admit to sitting on the fence when there is someone so loud so opinionated you either have to agree or disagree with him there can’t really be a maybe with a character like this Same with Trump Farage they are all loud, opinionated, thoughtless and can’t stand a strong woman now you either like that sort of man or dislike with a vengeance you can’t be a......maybe surely chestnut
What or who do you consider the Woke brigade ?

I can remember Morgan being implicated in the phone hacking scandal with Millie Dowler.
Ghastly individual. He is definitely a Marmite individual, people either love him or hate him. As I've said, I sit very firmly on the fence. I realise he has his faults but also some good qualities. He does not bow to the woke brigade and will stand by his views, which in itself is refreshing in this day and age.
You are describing qualities that other media people display but without the history of being implicated in stuff like phone hacking and lying in various articles he has written.
Nothing special about Morgan except he has been given a platform to shout his mouth off.

The programme need someone who isn't afraid to ask tough questions of politicians and other people they interview.
Piers Morgan was ruthless in his questioning, and didn't let people away with playing politics instead of giving a straight answer.
Although I like Sean Fletcher, he doesn't fit the bill

I have very mixed feelings about Piers Morgan. On the downside he can be boorish and overbearing, and complains endlessly when he gets a bee in his bonnet. I used to watch GMB and at times wanted to throw something at him. He can be very annoying.
But on the other hand he can give excellent interviews, really getting people to open up and discuss their life story. He can also tear certain people to shreds which can be very satisfying, in particular the USA gun lobby when they insist everyone including children should carry guns. He stands firmly by his opinions and will not bow to the woke brigade.
He should call this helpline.

Not a PM fan in the slightest but, I do think it got personal as Beresford said that the only reason PM disliked MM so much was because she'd turned him down a second time.
So even though PM has said much worse about hundreds of people and likely deserved everything he got, it would be wrong to say it didn't get personal and paint Beresford as entirely saintly because he had to resort to a personal attack to 'win'.

I think PM struggles with people saying no to him.
Exactly - hence his obsessive attacks on MM

Correct Bluebelle. I watched the clip and beresford was reasonable NO personal attack.

It wasnt a personal attack at all. It was a difference of opinion. He was very measured I thought and they both knew it was going to be discussed as they had debated it on Twitter the day before. PM has himself agreed he was 'a snowflake' to walk off.
If a photo of the accused appears wouldn’t that nullify the trial? It would here I think.
What do they say? If you can't take it, don't dish it out.
