That's it! I need shoes, mine are falling apart and I need new clothes, I'm a big woman and supermarkets have no choice. And to think we've got to wait another month! I'm going to look like a bag lady

I feel just the same . I’ve worn dog walking kit for a year. I’m not big on frocks or shoes, prefer jeans and boots/sandals but -,I’m so over it. I may even wear mascara!

I’ve got an appointment tomorrow, I’m seriously considering wearing a dress .....

Biscuitmuncher Tue 09-Mar-21 18:29:39

Its just been forever hasn't it! And theres still a month to wait

Jaxjacky Tue 09-Mar-21 18:35:53

I order from internet, yesterday new shirt and shorts, but I internet shop permanently, I don’t like ‘real’ shopping at all.

Blossoming Tue 09-Mar-21 18:46:10

I really need to have a wander around the market!

BlueBelle Tue 09-Mar-21 19:14:01

I ve ordered two things on the Internet neither looked nice when I put them on but I wasn’t paying another fiver to send them back I m not surprised as when I think how many things I used to try on to get to just one that I liked
I can’t wait for the shops to open and to try things on again I m living in the same few jumpers from last winter and I m sooooo over them

I'm getting desperate! I need new trousers/jeans, knickers and bras. I'm going to order from online stores, but I really miss being able to see and feel the material.

I need my hair cut!

Lexisgranny Tue 09-Mar-21 19:23:37

I have such trouble buying clothes. Although I am of average weight, my waist is too large for my body, although don’t think apple, think rectangle. Trousers are a real problem, they are either baggy, or cut me in two. I am basically a lazy shopper, I hate fitting rooms etc, but internet shopping is difficult. Has anyone with the same problem (I do hope I am not the only one!) found a good internet solution.

I need a new bathroom, after 34 years, but I am not going ahead until I have seen baths, washbasins and tiles with my own eyes.

Visgir1 Tue 09-Mar-21 19:28:02

Just want to wonder around the shops with my sister or daughter buying what takes our fancy, looking at makeup, clothes shoes, grab some lunch. Simple pleasures can't wait!

diygran Tue 09-Mar-21 19:32:50

Lexisgranny
I have same problem. Hips and waist are both 41ins. I always find a good fit in jeans/trousers in Matalan. Have had a bit hit or miss in M&C and Markies.

diygran Tue 09-Mar-21 19:34:57

Sorry Lexisgranny just noticed you want internet suggestion- can't help with that.

Sara1954 Tue 09-Mar-21 19:37:13

I am desperate!
My Dyson has a charge time of about 30 seconds, and my vacuum spits out more than it picks up, and I really need to see and feel one before I buy one.
I have my daughter and three children living with us, and I need to vacuum about ten times a day!
I cannot wait to shop, I’m going to take two of my granddaughters on the train for a shopping day, lovely lunch ( obviously outside) and I’m going to spoil them rotten.

I'm not too bothered about clothes shopping - I need very few clothes to add to what I already have and what I do need I can get online. But oh, I miss going into town for the day on the bus, window shopping, buying presents and choosing cards, having lunch, maybe catching a film or going to a gallery. And what's surprised me, as I'm more of a wine drinker these days, I'm really missing sitting in a pub nursing a proper hand-pulled pint of real ale!

Biscuitmuncher Tue 09-Mar-21 20:45:28

I miss everything really. Seems like the rest of the world is back to normal except us

Elusivebutterfly Tue 09-Mar-21 20:56:00

Lexisgranny, I also find it difficult to get trousers to fit. I think it's a common problem for older women. If you have some already that fit, can you buy online from that shop? I find M&S trousers fit me better than most and you can return free by post or to a local food hall. Sainsbury's Tu is often good as well.
Biscuitmuncher, would you not consider online shopping? Just buy a new version of what you already have so should hopefully fit and most shops give free returns now.
Debenhams has a wide range with their closing down sale.

Lexisgranny Tue 09-Mar-21 20:56:37

Not to worry diygran well worth a try when we are finally let back in! It’s the trailing round from shop to shop I can’t stand.

Amberone Tue 09-Mar-21 21:21:39

Not missing the shops at all. I think the last year has taught me how much money and time I waste on things I don't really need or want. So I won't be charging out with the hordes as soon as we're given the green light.

Mostly I'm missing family, and sitting having a coffee and a natter in the sunshine, and being able to wander at will.

Redhead56 Tue 09-Mar-21 21:38:57

I shop on line a lot but I do miss browsing in the shops for ages. When I go out now it's just for essentials and a quick trip. I do miss going for a pint though!

Luckygirl Tue 09-Mar-21 22:28:52

I hate shopping! - I have been glad of the excuse to give it a miss!

I have a few online stores who I know which size will fit me, and anything I have needed has come from these.

I can remember the exact day when I was out clothes shopping and decided it was a real pain - I can remember exactly where I was at the time - it made a big impression!

BigBertha1 Tue 09-Mar-21 22:35:26

I would just like to go out anywhere sit down inside with a coffee in a cup and then have another one if I want.

nadateturbe Tue 09-Mar-21 23:12:18

I shop online for clothes, however I need new bras, have lots of nice ones but costochondritis really bad and I need to try them on to find comfy ones.
And I so miss wandering round Marks, then buying a coffee and scone and reading my kindle or newspaper in the cafe. Just that simple pleasure.

Lexisgranny Tue 09-Mar-21 23:22:12

ElusiveButterfly I have some Per Una ones, but unfortunately the style and cut often changes and I can’t get them again. Maybe this spring (or summer) season will provide some. I do agree Amberone lockdown has really shown me that I previously spent money on things I didn’t really need.

nanna8 Wed 10-Mar-21 00:51:30

I got to really like getting parcels when we were in our lockdown here. Sometimes they took so long I had totally forgotten about them. Just like Christmas ! When you come out people will go beserk like they did here- shops full of masked invaders buying everything from candles to caravans.
