Did anyone else see this last night on Sky News? Am I allowed to say man or is it not PC ? This is a man who should do interviews he most certainly does not mince his words.

He's well known here for his views, often correct. Chuck bucket is just a saying - if someone says something outrageous then you can come back with "pass me the chuck bucket" - chuck equals vomit!

Thanks for the explanation, Bigred, not an expression I was familiar with.
I've heard of a chook bucket, ie where you throw all the vegetable peelings to take to the chooks.

Yes, I have seen him on Australian TV and it was a cue for practising my Oprah-style jaw-dropping.

He's very popular here in Australia.

Then shame on Australia - popular does not necessarily equal good or desirable. Porn is popular

For the views expressed in the links Alegrias posted you mean ?
Do you agree with him ?

his views, often correct

Like this one, where he says there is no pandemic?
www.skynews.com.au/details/_6203093698001

Or this one, where he says denies climate change and says there is no scientific consensus?

Or maybe this, where he said that Julia Gillard's recently deceased father probably died of shame because of her?

I will not post a link about the reported facts of his relationships while a school teacher on the grounds of good taste.

Vomit indeed.

Exactly callistemon.

I’m afraid it was one of those thread titles that, to me, made absolutely no sense.

oopsadaisy I've heard of Alan Jones and in fact have seen him on Australian TV but had never heard of a chuck bucket.
As far as I knew it was a nickname for someone called Charles (usually in America or Australia).

Isn't this the Australian presenter who is siding with Piers Morgan's strong opinion of MM? I believe he says PM should keep his job and not be required to apologise.

Indeed it is

Lucca

Why is politically correct (PC) so often used in a sneery way as though it is something bad automatically?

I know - it’s depressing isn’t it?

Why is it a strange post and what's wrong with Sky News? It's a different perspective from the BBC. I have never seen the guy before and don't know who he is I was surprised how direct he was. Our journalists are always too busy worrying about PC to be that blunt.

As I asked ....you approve of this man ?

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 14:27:18

It’s not what’s wrong with Sky News - it’s what’s wrong with this particular shock jock. We have enough home grown ones

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 11:54:44

No they haven’t - he’s still there playing to the masses ?

Callistemon Wed 10-Mar-21 11:51:55

I saw him when I was in Australia, surely they haven't let him out?

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 11:51:52

Ooohhhh maybe Sky Australia will offer PM a job?
