Did anyone else see this last night on Sky News? Am I allowed to say man or is it not PC ? This is a man who should do interviews he most certainly does not mince his words.

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 11:35:45

He’s an Australian COVId denying shock jock so yes he does make me feel sick

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 11:38:12

Sort of Aussie version of PM without the class 🙄

Blossoming Wed 10-Mar-21 11:41:46

What a strange post! I don’t watch Sky News.

Alegrias1 Wed 10-Mar-21 11:43:38

Never heard of him before, just googled him. He's a sweetheart, isn't he?

Is telling a former PM of Australia that her father probably died of shame seen as incisive comment these days? Even Tony Abbot thought he'd gone too far.

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 11:51:52

Ooohhhh maybe Sky Australia will offer PM a job?

Callistemon Wed 10-Mar-21 11:51:55

I saw him when I was in Australia, surely they haven't let him out?

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 11:54:44

No they haven’t - he’s still there playing to the masses 😀

Lucca Wed 10-Mar-21 12:01:20

Are we to understand that you approve of him Redhead56 ?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 10-Mar-21 13:14:52

I don’t watch Sky News either, what’s a Chuck bucket?

Missfoodlove Wed 10-Mar-21 13:16:43

This will explain;

For chucking up in when a presenter makes you sick 😀

Redhead56 Wed 10-Mar-21 14:12:36

Why is it a strange post and what's wrong with Sky News? It's a different perspective from the BBC. I have never seen the guy before and don't know who he is I was surprised how direct he was. Our journalists are always too busy worrying about PC to be that blunt.

suziewoozie Wed 10-Mar-21 14:27:18

It’s not what’s wrong with Sky News - it’s what’s wrong with this particular shock jock. We have enough home grown ones

As I asked ....you approve of this man ?

Lucca Wed 10-Mar-21 15:27:39

Why is politically correct (PC) so often used in a sneery way as though it is something bad automatically?

I know - it’s depressing isn’t it?

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 12-Mar-21 19:56:37

Ok I thought that it was a chaps name, I wondered why bucket didn’t have a capital C.
Just me being thick suzywoozie

Oh, you mean like Charles Bouquet Oopsadaisy?

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 12-Mar-21 22:09:13

Exactly callistemon.

I’m afraid it was one of those thread titles that, to me, made absolutely no sense.

NotTooOld Fri 12-Mar-21 22:24:32

Isn't this the Australian presenter who is siding with Piers Morgan's strong opinion of MM? I believe he says PM should keep his job and not be required to apologise.

Indeed it is

oopsadaisy I've heard of Alan Jones and in fact have seen him on Australian TV but had never heard of a chuck bucket.
As far as I knew it was a nickname for someone called Charles (usually in America or Australia).

Bigred18 Sat 13-Mar-21 03:36:32

He's well known here for his views, often correct. Chuck bucket is just a saying - if someone says something outrageous then you can come back with "pass me the chuck bucket" - chuck equals vomit!

Alegrias1 Sat 13-Mar-21 16:25:44

his views, often correct

Like this one, where he says there is no pandemic?
www.skynews.com.au/details/_6203093698001

Or this one, where he says denies climate change and says there is no scientific consensus?
thewest.com.au/opinion/alan-jones-there-is-far-from-a-scientific-consensus-on-climate-change-ng-060b0c4acd9c9577432beaeae9f66978

Or maybe this, where he said that Julia Gillard's recently deceased father probably died of shame because of her?
thewest.com.au/opinion/alan-jones-there-is-far-from-a-scientific-consensus-on-climate-change-ng-060b0c4acd9c9577432beaeae9f66978

I will not post a link about the reported facts of his relationships while a school teacher on the grounds of good taste.

Vomit indeed.
