You look like your mother! X
Now I am embarrassed, I just needed to explain why I may be missing now and again! I'm embarrassed! ?
Borrheid, isn't it strange. I always remember your red hair and lovely smile! Your eyes always crinkled when you smiled!
grandMattie and mrshat
for your comments. I was at school with Marydoll so I do care for her a little more than I do for other GNers. Only because I remember her smile and vivid red hair! You are all so supportive and kind. I really hope I get to have that cuppa with her.
Marydoll Such a moving post earlier. RA is a nasty one! I agree totally with what Borrheid said!
and prayers for you. xxx
Where is ‘here’ please dustyangel? I’m thinking it might be Portugal but not sure as you don’t tell us in your morning posts?
I agree wholeheartedly with Borrheid.
I would also like to add that when my BIL was very ill, my family kept it from me as it was Christmas. Called my sister and felt an absolute uncaring idiot as I had no idea! (Not that I really cared, he loathed me with a passion!)
People prefer to know, so they can react appropriately. Write a group email if you prefer, it gives everyone space to react in their own way.
Sermon over...
mancgirl your post made me laugh. Vamos indeed! Although I have great reservations about May being too early, I so hope that DD and SiL will be able get here in July.
I just checked the temperature here is 15.9° and still rising. ?
Vamos! ???x
Marydoll greetings from a very blustery Kent! I too tend to keep myself to myself as my granny would say. It’s only when things become really bad I own up to pain, stress or anger. I know that I am denying others the opportunity to help. I am the last person to ask for help but first to offer it! Your DH and family won’t want to breenge in but would I’m sure take on requests from you. What can you offer them in the way of helping you through this rough patch? As I get older ( I know I’m only 4months older than you!) , I listen more to my body. If I am tired, I sleep - whatever time of day it is. If I am not hungry, I don’t eat - even if I have just made Sunday dinner. I’m learning to be ‘self-ish’ ie thinking of me first. Believe me, as the eldest of eight children, that’s an alien concept. Your new title in May ( the P word) allows you to step back a little. No point in pushing yourself so much that you are forced into invalidity. Taking it easier isn’t the same as giving up or giving in, it’s being sensible. Having reconnected with you, I don’t want to miss out on that cup of coffee (...and Mars bar cake?) we said we would have.
Sorry to ‘go on’ at you but me and the rest of the GNers really care for you! X
No need to worry about that aspect too much mancgirl - you’ll be outside in all that sunshine and fresh air.
Oohhh, might get to go! Think I would feel easier if their vaccination programme was as good as ours. Fingers crossed?
Spotted Urmstongran! And I’ve been checking flights.....?
Good morning from Cheshire. Been to Waitrose this morning -big excitement. Get a delivery from Morrison's but I was sent coupons from Waitrose with good discounts on the things I used to buy there regularly. They are not daft - they know exactly which items I am missing. Was in and out in ten minutes as stuck to my list for once !
Sending best wishes to Marydoll - I don't like to rest either. It is really hard if not in your nature. I hope the docs can come up with something to help your heart cope better. New drugs arrive all the time. Fingers crossed.
This was in the Telegraph today mancgirl and Pantglas:
“Greece, Cyprus, Portugal and Spain have all indicated they will be open for Britons from mid-May if they have vaccinations or negative Covid tests.
Reyes Maroto, the Spanish tourism minister, said yesterday that his country could accept vaccinated Britons from May 19, coinciding with an international tourism fair. It follows Greece declaring it would be open to Britons from May 14.”
??
Good morning from a bitterly cold north of Scotland where I can smell snow in the wind. I enjoy reading all your posts but have little/no news to share so I thank you all for your contributions. The sum of the whole is even greater than the sum of the parts - or something like that.
I bravely visited the hardware store for a new saw. Yes it was very essential. The assistant was going to serve the person behind me (mostly tradesmen) but for once I bravely called “I’m next” because I wanted out. He apparently didn’t see me, which is even more surprising given how much lockdown weight I am carrying.
My best wishes and ??? to all because you deserve them.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside but windy northwest coast Lancashire. You will so enjoy your bus trips when everything improves Mick.
Mu bubbled son has cleverly serviced my Dyson and Vax as well as cooking belly pork last night, so I’m feeling blessed. We watched The Dig as he hadn’t seen the film and I’m not a rewatcher of films but it’s a different experience with someone else, who notices things missed before.
No great plans apart from carrying on making some Easter cards and I need to go to M&S or Asda clothes as have put weight on round the middle and trousers too tight.
Thinking of all with sadnesses and worries to cope with.
Good Morning all from a blustery Harrogate - the washing machine is busy, but doubt I will dare to put it out (don't think my knickers will fit my neighbour!!)
You know Marydoll this is a good place to say your piece, we will respect that. We feel so much for you and hope you manage to stay out of mischief long enough to rest and feel better.
. At least writing Nouvellas for us shouldn't be too taxing?
sheep you enjoy those treats, you deserve them!!
Mick. take care, Marydoll is right.
I've no idea what the rest of the day will bring - been heck of a busy since waking up! Exercising, showering, brekkies, emptying dishwasher, filling washing machine, cleaning stuff and switching on the Roomba!! Receiving and putting away my sainsburies shop, finding things for my daughter when she called - I'm quite warn out!! Yesterday doing all my nothings got me quite exhausted!!
Hope everyone can have a peaceful day
That storminess last night didn't just pick up and carry the recycling everywhere, my WP has just discovered that it blew our side gate off its hinges ?
ginny, good luck with your medical phonecall this afternoon.
I hope your CT scan goes well grandmajet
Marydoll ???
Hope your DGD has a lovely birthday, ?, baubles.
Gingster, yes thankfully all was quiet when my neighbour returned home but I wouldn't put a bet on it staying that way for long, it doesn't usually these days. Thank you for the flowers ?
Thank you Susan I slept like a log for the first time n weeks ?
Good morning Mick, Annie, and all.
Lovely to hear that you are getting your electric chair Annie, enjoy it and don't be too scared of using it. At least you will be able to get around, when allowed!
Such a lot of posts here before I log in, so apologies to all those who need a mention, but that I so often forget. ??? to you all.
Although it was very windy here, I slept well, and only woke when I thought I heard a door slam. DH didn't hear it, so must have been my imagination, as all appears to be alright.
Sending love and hugs to Marydoll. Have a peaceful, quiet day and perhaps get the fairy doors varnished.( But don't get high on the fumes). ?
Sorry to hear that Bellasnana is now in stricter measures again, and that her nails had to go un-polished. Can you have a go at them yourself?
Taichinan, sad news about your eye, I saw your news yesterday, and sending best wishes to you.
Nice to hear that SheepandCattle, was able to hit the shops, and find a few treats. Enjoy. I loved the pictures if the lambs, especially the two-coloured ones. We have such a lovely picture of DS2 when he was about 6, hugging a lamb, with the most delighted grin on his face. Long time ago now though.
Time to get myself sorted out, and for the excitement of a delivery later.
Have a good day one and all,
Good morning all. Lancashire is sunny this morning, but it’s blowing a gale so a walk may be off the agenda for today. Yesterday I managed to drag my step stool into the shower cubicle so I could take the bathroom curtain down. I can’t reach it otherwise. I can only just reach it by standing on tiptoes on the stool, and I quickly get dizzy when I have to look up. It takes me a long time to unhook all 10 hooks. I’m quite proud of my achievement, but I’m suffering for it today. I didn’t wash the curtain yesterday so that’s a job for today and Mr. B will help me put it back up. I don’t like curtains on bathroom windows, they quickly get musty and stained. As the window is next to the shower this one gets damp quite quickly. I really must find something to replace it with.
Take care all.
Marydoll here are some
and a ((hug)) for you. Cherry thank you for your good wishes. I have a titanium marker in one breast. It's a source of great amusement when I go shopping with friends as I always seem to set the shop alarms off?. I'm assured it shouldn't but it makes us smile!
Thank you so much, Marydoll Now that is a seriously good and straightforward recipe! Sending you a massive smile and hope you have a really good day. x
Good morning Mick and all
Blustery night but much calmer now. Planned a busy day so it will pass quickly. Hoping for that call from my son later on.
Zoom tutorial (wood turning) session from New Zealand. 2 hours long, Hoping to try this out myself this year.
Mya's walk will have to wait till lunch time. She had a quick trot at 8:30.
I'll pop back later today to read everyone's news. Take care.
