Good Morning Thursday
(91 Posts)Good morning, Mick from a very windy Torbay. Although I slept through the blustery night, I suffered unpleasant, vivid dreams, perhaps due to the noise outside.
Yesterday at Wednesday Club Zoom with amdram friends, there was much enthusiasm from the director of the play which we hope will restart our theatre programme in August: Allo, ‘Allo. He recruited several attendees to be café patrons, which pleased those who haven’t been on stage for some years.
I trust everyone is safe and well and I hope that those with worries find some relief from their anxieties today. ???
Good morning Mick and GrandMattie (I know you’re around ? seen your posts....). It’s very windy here in north Wales- LauraNorder must’ve thought ? I needed my cobwebs blown away!
A titivating day and not much else as we await our FMs destructions tomorrow- I’m hoping for a small easing of lockdown now that we have almost a third of our population jabbed.
Hope all having tough times have it easier today and will pop along later after I’ve caught up with Tuesday and Wednesday.....slowcoach ? that I am!
Good morning Mick and all to come. Weather in Malta much as usual, dry and 17°C. We have had some rain but nothing much.
The Maltese government issued new measures last night so we are back in lockdown which means I won’t be getting my roots done this morning as planned.
It’s disappointing we are back to square one again but it is the result of selfish people ignoring the rules and hence the cases have spiked.
I have an appointment for a CT scan this evening, not sure if it will still be happening so I will call to check before I go. I’m quite anxious about the late appointment as I don’t usually drive in the dark.
Wishing you all a good day. Sorry I haven’t caught up with the last couple of days. Take care all.☀️
Ohh ? morning Ashcombe- thought I’d be neck and neck with GrandMattie.....!
Good morning from a very windy E Kent. No rain, just gales. It’s horrible.
You’re right, pant, I have been about since about 0500. Benn awake for hours. Don’t sleep well, but have an hour after lunch...
Managed to finish my piccalilli yesterday, I got 18 jars out of my vegetables. All I need do now is wash them and make the labels to stick on. It is very popular with those who have had some. Personally, I think it’s not nice at all.
Spanish class today. I’m floundering. Our teacher is very sweet and terribly optimistic about my progress, but I manage. Much better at spoken language than the grammar.
Marydoll, I hope your enforced rest helped yesterday. Please, please don’t overdo thing... everyone else, I’m sorry but my memory is rubbish. You too have my thoughts and sympathy for your troubles , my rejoicing with your joys.
I hope today brings relief to those in pain or sorrow, and general wellness/happiness for another day dawning. ☀️☀️?????❤️
And I was surfing and fiddling. I should have been glued to the screen so as to be immediately after Mick! ? sorry.
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is blowing a hoolie and raining ☔️.
Ashcombe will you be taking a part in the play, Renee perhaps ?!!?
Off to work shortly and then not a lot else. I may ring the surgery to see if my blood test is back do I can make an appointment with the doctor.
Went out to see DSis yesterday with DGS snd we had a wet and windy walk and coffee in the bird hide.
It is sad you are back in lockdown Bella. I think a lot of mainland Europe is the same. It will end, it has to at some point.?
Take care everyone and stay safe. ?❤️?
Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is very windy and I believe rain is forecast for later.
Supermarket this morning, the highlight of the week ?.
I hope you all find a smile today. I'm sending kind thoughts and best wishes to anyone going through a tough time. Take care all xx
Morning Mick and all from a very blustery but mild Wiltshire. I’ve been down the lambing shed to do the early bottle feeds and to feed and water my woolly guests and luckily it seems that the gales haven’t done any damage. Next job will be to drive round the farm to check that no trees have come down on the fences. I think I’m going to have to tie little weights on the lambs feet this morning to stop them being blown away! Yesterday was exciting........I went to Tesco’s! Whoop whoop ?????! I actually put clean clothes on, brushed the straw and hay out of my hair and left the farm for an hour! In my excitement I may have put too many treat items in the trolley! Today is the start of the big clean up although not sure if I’ll start in the lambing shed or the house ..... both are looking like a bombs hit them, and then a couple of weeks worth of bill-paying and admin to do. I’ve got some ewes and lambs to turn out - although it’s very blowy outside, it’s mild and only showers forecast so they should be fine. I’ve still got the last dozen ewes that haven’t yet lambed loitering in the barn with their legs tightly crossed. I normally end up with a couple of ‘no-shows’ at the end of lambing but the dirty-dozen are pushing it a bit - I expect a few more lambs from them at least!
Wishing you all a good Thursday - button up your coats and hang on to your brollies!
Good morning Mick and all
Have been awake since 4.30am, it is so windy (we have your seagulls Sar53 ) .
A pottering day is on the cards and bed changing, how exciting!!!!!
Thinking of our missing and poorly friends
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️
Morning all from a very windy but dry south coast. Not as cold as of late.
Went out to put the bin out for collection this morning and found the front garden full of rubbish blown in on the gales during the night. The grass verge in front of our house is the same. I have cleared our garden but am hoping someone else more able-bodied than me will do the verge.
DH continues to improve but is unlikely to be home before the weekend. He is on light diet now and his drip and nasogastric tube have been removed so he is more comfortable. The staff are wonderful and he told them yesterday that he thought he might prefer to stay there than come home as he gets so well looked after( joking - at least I think he was!).
Hope the day is a good one for us all.
Good morning from a grey Teddington. Windy, but fine at the moment. Food shopping today, and possibly some sewing. Zooming later with upholstery group, waiting to see whether the community centre will let us back in , possibly after Easter. Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all, I can hear the wind whistling through the houses and trees but can see blue sky.
Brook I do consider myself very lucky that I have so much contact and close relationships with my family at the moment. When I read the sacrifices other GNs have had to make I count my blessings. The whole family is very close (4 generations) and we are looking forward to all getting together again. We have had many weekends together in some fantastic holiday houses over the years.
Yesterday was PT day which always gives me an energy boost first thing. Did some washing and ironing before I visited mum and dad and gave their kitchen a thorough clean and had my lunch with them.
I have my work appraisal this morning and then an online training session this afternoon.
Boys here, dog barking so must get up and get started.
Stay safe out there today in these nasty gale conditions
Good Morning everyone from a wet Severnside. I can see some things have been blown around in the garden and my outside doormat I shall have to rescue from somewhere.
I had an odd night with my dreams. A couple of people who it’s doubtful I will see again were in it. ?
Some pottering and sorting to do today. I might even do some crafting. I really do need to shift myself more and stop wasting time.
I’m thinking of you all with worries and enjoy those treats Sheep ?
Good morning from wet and windy Colchester.
Today is our last day in this house. Last boxes to pack and a bed and dining table to dismantle. I wanted to get someone else to do this but DH insists he can manage and our removers had nobody to spare.
Online quiz with the family tonight and toad in the hole for tea to finish up the fridge/freezer contents.
Much love x
Good morning all from a blowy S Hants, not racing, but sharp showers are forecast. The bbq blew over in the night but is undamaged, glad we had the fences redone last year. The greenhouse is arriving this afternoon, a day early, but assembly will wait until it’s dry, probably Sunday. DH off out this morning to sort out some work bits and bobs. I’ll go for a walk later, I got a very wet raincoat yesterday, but a dry me.
Have a good day all, thoughts with those struggling.
I hope you see your husband very soon Gagagran and good luck with your move tomorrow Pittcity.
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s dry with bits of blue sky and not too windy here yet
Yesterday’s forecast rain didn’t really show up so we enjoyed a really lovely walk up and around Ord Hill just north of Inverness. Not too sure about today’s plans yet, but I’m sure I’ll find something to keep myself busy...
Sounds like such a lovely family dwm thank you for remembering my comment from yesterday! I hope your appraisal goes well today?
It’s a shame you’re restrictions are tightening bellasnana I hope it’s not for too long and take care driving in the dark this evening
Good news about your DH gaga hope he’s home soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles today, take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning to all from a rainy Lueneburg. I am having some real excitement planned. I am taking a 90 year old friend to the garden center. She did, up to now, manage her large garden on her own. Not a weed in sight. My garden has lots of nature in it. As we are having so few corona infections in this area we are now allowed to meet with 10 people from 3 different house holds. Children under 14 doun`t count. I am notso happy about this. No vaccine in sight for me - under 80. Waldi doesn`t like the rain either, so he refused to go out this morning.
I am wishing you all a pleasant day , keep healthy, get well and may your troubles be resolved. x
Good morning Mick and All.
Grey sky here in South Bucks.
Well you seem all sorted for your move tomorrow Pittcity. Hope it goes smoothly for you.
What a disappointment Bellasnana another Lockdown. At least when you go for your scan tonight there should be fewer people on the roads. Hope all goes well.
Your AmDram plans sound great Ashcombe. We are great supporters of our local theatres. We have just booked tickets to see Andrew Lloyd Weber’s ‘School of Rock’ which will be performed, fingers crossed, in Bournemouth in June when we are having a few days holiday at our neighbours seaside flat.
DH discovered our favourite Italian cafe is still open offering take aways. We have decided to go down today buy their delicious coffee and a warmed apricot Danish and walk down to the riverside park and have our morning coffee there.
How I long for normality, freedom to do what we want when we want. Life has changed dramatically for all of us.
Thinking of those who don’t feel well, especially our Marydoll.
Good morning from a very blustery Sefton coast. Exactly where were those stray flower pots, which are now being tossed round the garden, hiding when I tidied up last week?
I spent most of yesterday reading the delightful Bakingwithgranny website which has inspired me to try making Viennese fingers. This afternoon I’ll probably finish reading my ebook ‘Small Pleasures’ which I bought having enjoyed the Radio 4 series. For me this is a ‘cabin up’ day.
If you do venture out hold on to your hats and do up the top button on your coats!
Sending a flamboyance of flamingoes to all posters and readers.
???????????????????????
Good morning from Manchester where it is blowing a hoolie and raining here too. I'm here Urmston! Read every day but don't feel there's too much to say. Most days are the same! Got 2 days out this week, mammogram and eye test. The excitement is too much- well the mammogram might not be too exciting but worth it. I do go out shopping now and again and walk must days. Lucky to have family close by and bubble with one but won't see Gs1 now home schooling has finished. It's exactly a year since we were in Spain. I was desperate to get back because ds1 and wife were having 2nd baby and we were on standby to have Gs1. Well, lockdown baby is now 9 months old! We have booked to go in June but think we might be a bit previous. Just hoping all is OK. We have lovely neighbours that look out for us so thinking everything is good. Love hearing your stories on the farm sheep There's a book in there somewhere! Hoping for a good day for all. Have a good day everyone. Hugs for those who are unwell and
for those who extra cares and worries. Hope Gilly will write one day. Look for her Friday girl every week!
Morning Mick, morning All from a blustery and damp corner of Somerset. It was a noisy night for sure.
Blood test for me and some admin before a chatty phone call with a good friend. The day gets better
.
Good luck with the move pittcitty, sorry to hear lockdown is back bellasnana. Hope you’re feeling stronger today marydoll, keep on resting if you need to.
Look after yourselves everyone.
Good morning all from a bright Polmont where I can see blue skies. It's currently 6° and breezy. Rain is forecast though.
Gagagran it's good to hear that your husband is improving. Do you live on the seafront? That is a dream of mine. Pittcity I hope your move tomorrow goes smoothly. Remember the kettle is the last to go in and the first to come out! Grandmattie I have never eaten pickalilli, although I like chutney and pickled onions etc. It sounds nice. Ashcombe I'm very jealous of your drama group! I used to love being involved in am dram. You develop a real sense of camaraderie.
Today will be quiet. I had a lovely WhatsApp chat yesterday with good friends and dd sent lots of texts. Today I plan to make bread. I've run out and there is an Aldi handy, but I fancy making my own. It won't be onerous as the KitchenAid does all the hard work. Like others, I'm longing for a return to normality where I can go to my art classes and meet friends and family freely. So bread making and a bit of cross stitch and knitting will suffice for now. Have a good day all.
