The misuse of "was" and "were". For example "What was you doing?" or "I were going to the shops". I really makes me cringe

‘Going forward’, ‘like’ - as in I, like - rest of sentence !! The word ‘literally’ makes me shudder as it’s mostly used out of context and often paired with ‘like’ !!

“Let me make it clear”.
Politicians use this when they’re asked a question. Really grates on me.

meaning being supportive and empathetic, I think. Where did that come from? I find it slightly irritating. BTW I always say toilet (not sure what’s wrong with that) or loo. Does toilet mean washing then? It didn’t mean that in our house when I was growing up and it doesn’t now. I’m just off to the toilet now .......
