Panties. Drives me nuts. Can't understand why Men have 'underpants' but Women have either Panties Or Knickers..... !!! I've now claimed the word underpants for myself.....

I don’t know about words that make you shudder, but I used to teach a girl who became hysterical with laughter if she heard the word sachet. Also a boy who couldn’t bear the word cheese, which was quite difficult sometimes in our Food Technology lessons. You can imagine what the other children in the class enjoyed doing.

Hack. Seems to be a very recent change to the use of the word - to me it suggests chopping something up savagely!

People who use the word amount instead of number!

‘Loose’, instead of ‘lose’ seems to be very popular, though I can’t think why.

"The girls/girlies" for breasts.
"Skedyool" for schedule
The lazy missing out of the letter "t" in words. e.g "My name is Pa'erson, with two ts"

Haitch yes!!! I hate it too. You don’t call Y a Yiy so why Aitch Haitch.

Horrible! But some otherwise normal people I know use it and don't seem to be aware how uncouth it is...

Invites instead if invitations: to invite is a verb, invitations the noun. Have been known to correct speakers on television..

Really irritating, "have you had your invite?" Is just plain WRONG.
