In response to the original question, I have changed my mind about them. I liked her at first, although it didn't take long to realise there isn't a genuine bone in her body; I thought she would turn in a good performance as royalty, know the lines, be on cue, always presentable. The flight abroad was a surprise but possibly part of a long term plan, carefully manipulated.
Since that interview, not watched but impossible to avoid, my belief in MM as arch plotter has changed. The programme was carefully scripted and the much-hyped Winfrey is laughing all the way to the bank for her complaisant performance, but the interview was full of anomalies and inconsistencies that any half-decent interviewer would have challenged. MM's inadequacies in rising to her challenge were exposed and the 'misinformation' about bestowal of titles, the role of HR, and security showed sloppy preparation. MM is riding high at the moment and believes herself to be untouchable.
I do not think so.
She is proving to be not nearly as smart as many of us believed. Her dupe of a husband is browbeating his family for money, accusations of racism are made, private conversations are discussed with best-friend-tv -presenter, and threats of releasing emails etc are welcomed by ex-staff who are lining up to give their accounts of bullying which weren't addressed at the time, all to protect Meghan.
All this against the background of a covid-damaged world. and on a personal level, the health of Prince Philip.
