Noises and words you love!

I was walking on the sand dunes in West Wittering a few years ago with my daughter and granddaughters, and there was a wonderful scent of wild Alyssum, which reminded me of my Nan, who always planted the cultivated plant in her garden. Happy memories! ♥️

I also like to slip the word discombobulated into conversation.

The best sound in the world is the voice of your child or grandchild saying I love you Mama/ Nana. I childminder my two grandchildren aged 4 and 18 mths and yesterday during lunch the 4 yr old just looked up from his roll and said Nana I do love you, he then signed it to me. For the eight years my husband and I tried for a child, with many treatments, ops etc ending up with several IVF goes the one thing that kept us going was the hope that one day we would hear that sentence.we are blessed.

I loved the first lockdown for the sounds of birds and bees when out on my one a day allowable hours walk, no cars to drown it out. Mown grass means hay fever symptoms although it heralds summer. Love proper coffee, fresh baked bread smell. Love the smell of the sea and the feel of the sun on my face when at my holiday home (no chance for last 15 months ?). Love the sound of and having a good belly laugh and how certain songs bring back different memories (of parents, children and first love) and my cats purr❤️

The smell of washing on the line in the garden and my grandson laughing ?

children playing and shouting to each other such a joyous sound. I love you granny I love you mum.

being by the sea watching the waves roll in watching birds kittens and puppies cats and dogs walking through a wood with sun shining down.

Bird song in the evening, the sound of the sea, the smell of new mown grass, the sound of my grandchildren playing

I unfortunately have lost my sense of smell. I do however love waterfalls and the sound of tinkling streams. Woodpeckers in the park, children enjoying themselves. Happy tail wagging dogs and jubilant puppies.

I loved the smell of his favourite aftershave on (late) DH. I still have some left and occasionally spray it onto my pillow..

Favorite sounds: The sound of baby's laughter
Ships horns on a foggy night - although I no longer live by the sea
The sight and sound of waves crashing against rocks
Woodpigeons cooing - reminds me of childhood and long, sunny summer days.

Favourite word: Ethereal.

Favourite smells: Washing, fresh off the line
Ginger and garlic being cooked together
Freshly cut grass.

Sound : Morning Chorus - if I wake up early I just listen and that brings a smile

Smell : Fresh washing, toast. Rain on a hot summer day.

Word: Comfy and snuggly (in winter)

Lavender - I find the intoxicating scent so relaxing.
Bird song - especially if in the garden on a sunny day. Just heavenly.
Small children laughing uncontrollably - that chuckling should be bottled to help anyone who is feeling sad!

Smell; Whisky. I’m teetotal now; alcohol messes with my meds.

Sound: Early morning bird song in Australia. Not that I’ve heard it in a long time.

Word: Nincompoop. No idea why.

My forever favourite word is serendipity- the sound and the meaning.

A new word in my vocabulary I love was taught to me by my DGD (now 6) when she was 2
‘Soffy’ her word for her blanket - soft and fluffy.

The birds singing in my garden
The smell of the sea when I walk the dog in the morning, then I walk past the store nearby and they are baking croissants, pies, etc. Did it this morning and it smelt delicious.

Favourite word is - bonkers, it’s just not used enough today. Which is bonkers
Favourite smell - fresh baked bread. It gets me every time

In a very bad place today, but this post has helped put things in perspective and I'm feeling a little better.

For me: warm Cornish pasties, road tar, and anyone who can whistle a tune.
