Noises and words you love!

Nanniejude was just about to say same thing Rang my 18 year old grandson yesterday and he was with some mates and his girlfriend and still signed off “ love you nan” ??. And the sound of my daughters cavvie, curled up on the bed and snoring So loud but soooo cute !

My favourite sound is ‘love you nannie’!
Love the smell of toast!

The sound of a baby laughing, my Daughter recorded my granddaughter laughing and had it put into a cuddly teddy bear for my birthday. I still press the tummy and smile. My GD is now 8. Favourite smell Lillies.

Sandalwood. Just love it. Welsh choirs.

The smell of putty. Reminds me of my uncle’s shop. The sound of trains shunting and a marching band with a big bass drum.

I love the Shipping forecast too, I have no idea why.
I used to love the smell of creosote, but of course you don’t see it used now.

Can I add to my list the late night Shipping Forecast with its theme tune Sailing By. Somehow it’s so comforting listening to that in bed.

The sight and smell of daffodils which I love! lilac and crocuses and primroses taking me back to my childhood garden and as a March born child the excitement of knowing my birthday was round the corner! Cliches I know but I love the smell and sights of spring and the promise it brings of fresh starts

Lilac blossom.
As a child, swinging high on a wooden swing in my grandparents' garden, trying to touch the blooms with my feet to release the smell.

The call of a collared dove together with the smell of new mown grass takes me back to the long, lazy, sunny, Sunday afternoons of my childhood. If I close my eyes, I can see mother coming down the garden path with a laden tea tray!
The one smell I loved in winter and which I can't replicate today is that of wet, school gaberdene mackintoshes drying by the open fire in the late afernoon while we toasted frozen fingers and toes and sipped hot honey and milk to thaw out after our freezing, wet walk home from school! Bliss! (Especially on a Friday!)

I love the sound of seagulls. It triggers a memory of childhood. I woke up in my mum's bed and listened to seagulls. I suddenly remembered we were on holiday at the seaside. Such a happy feeling.

Garlic, spices, curry, cakes baking, most cooking smells really, except meat. (Vegetarian.) Fresh flowers. Lavender. 711 Eau de Cologne. The scent of my cats' warm fur.

Honeysuckle( parent's garden), rose petals ( Catholic ceremonies), Christmas pud ( family all together) Estee Lauder Youth Dew ( Mom), freshly baked desserts ( Mom),the divine smell of bacon and mushroom wafting upstairs for weekend breakfasts ( Mom and family ..) Mmmmmm
