And questions have been raised about Mr Biden’s mental, and physical, acuity. The president on Thursday accidentally called Kamala Harris, Vice President, “President Harris”.

Throughout the election campaign he has engaged in numerous malapropisms, slurred words, mispronouncing words and misidentifying people, such as calling his wife Jill his sister.

I’ve noticed he seems to make a point of jogging on stage up to the microphone to address an audience.

I’m concerned this 78 year old really isn’t as well as is hoped.

What an age for a man to be POTUS. When you think that out of all the people in America you’d think someone fitter could represent them. Kamala is waiting in the wings I suppose.

Jackie Pallo, Mick McManus - Giant Haystacks?

Who shall I be this afternoon?

Urmstongran Sat 20-Mar-21 15:54:46

You know me well Iam64 and Calli! That did make me laugh MerylStreep! Yes, and the Saturday afternoon wrestling that my dad used to love - especially the tag! All huff, puff and choreographed moves! Bit like on here really.
??

I could be ‘Big Daddy’ but that’s only due to lockdown lard mind.

Yes.
We're all entitled to express our opinions (within legal limits).
I gave a Republican poster 10/10 for persistence!

However, I think Urmstongran has been told worse than 'get off the thread'. Anyway, she started this thread.
I might not agree with her but no-one seems bored yet.

I have to hand it to you, Urmstongran your a glutton for punishment ?? You remind me of the old time boxers who keep getting hit but get up again.

If it wasn't for posters like Urmonstongran who bravely keep sticking their heads above the parapet the site could end up with a load of nodding dogs.

Admit it - you'd be bored!!

Now would you say that to the few who brave the anti Meghan and Harry threads and get told they shouldn’t be on ?!!

Callistemon Sat 20-Mar-21 15:42:54

Sorry, that wasnt addressed to MerylStreep
Only that I agree with her.

(I got distracted by DH telling me what's going on with the rugby.)

Nobody could be worse than Trump. Its a pity Biden has had to wait so long for the White House. Poor old thing. (That's sincere btw)

Iam64 Sat 20-Mar-21 15:34:54

Whoops -,just to clarify, I’m not mind reading, just making assumptions based on observations. Bet urmston could make observations about where I stand on Trump - Biden?

Iam64 Sat 20-Mar-21 15:33:49

Urmstongran has been around long enough to know her pro Trump, ant Biden position isn’t universally shared. ‘Human punchbag ‘. - nope, just robust disagreements.
I’m usually in a very different political place than Urmston but I mean it positively when I say I suspect she’s enjoying this arty bargy

Kamiso Sat 20-Mar-21 13:31:05

I was just going to ask Urmstongran what it feels like being used as a human punch bag?

Slightly concerning that not only do you get words put in your mouth, they claim to know what you are thinking and make some very nasty accusations whilst thinking they own the moral high ground!

Biden has got the vaccine programme up and running in the US - does it matter if he trips up some steps?

This . Especially as Johnson is being forgiven al his myriad sins because of the vaccine success

Nannan2 Sat 20-Mar-21 13:01:25

Biden tripping was shown on late bbc news, it looked like maybe he'd had one too many celebratory champagnes to me, & then trying to jog up a couple of steps ahead, he also rubbed his knee, so maybe he's got a bit of knee trouble but won't admit it? (I've got knee problems, i can't do steps well either,at only 57!) He also could have been re- repeating just the 'president' bit of 'vice-president Harris' which is expected if he's had a speech impediment, it will be back maybe if he is nervous of giving speeches perhaps? But all in all, he is still way better than Trump, so stop moaning. We have Boris as a leader- so we are no better off than the Americans, and Boris hasn't got old age to use as an excuse!?

I just knew he would be worse than Trump. He has always been a warmonger and at his age he won’t change.

What ??? How is he worse than trump so far ?

So physical capability equates to mental and moral capability? For what it’s worth I’m quite fit for my age but would struggle with the steps up to that plane.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 20-Mar-21 12:09:14

This thread reflects your agenda. I seem to remember you constantly defending Trump when his mental capacity was questioned.

There was no deep concern then, even though psychiatrists were deeply concerned about his behaviour.

Urmstongran Sat 20-Mar-21 11:47:16

He was walking like a frail old man on the level concrete before he even started up the steps. Did you see? His gait looked very strange to me anyway.

And no, I’m not rubbing my hands with glee. How silly. He’s POTUS and if his health removes him from office, Kamala is waiting in the wings. It’s Democrats all the way for the next few years. Biden or Harris and I am only an observer.

I could comment upon that but this thread is about Biden’s perceived capability for office.

PippaZ Sat 20-Mar-21 10:56:07

Nothing would suprise me after this thread Whitewave sad

Let’s all meet up again next Saturday after Biden has had his first live interview for state tv next Friday 25th? I shall be interested to see how he handles questions without a teleprompter.

You seem to be suffering short term memory loss and joining the Biden camp,

I seem to remember that Biden did well in the presidential debates, sufficiently well for people to vote him into power.

Or perhaps you believe Trump and think that Trump actually won?

The POTUS and the Queen are two entirely different job roles.

We need to be comparing our Prime Minister to the president as each of them are running their respective countries, making important decisions on our behalf, and have been elected by us.

No one can pretend that is the Queen’s role.

That does sound a bit “rubbing hands with anticipatory glee”
