Good Morning Everyone,
Its another grey and cold start here in Brackley this morning .
Today , a small shop before preparing my lunch and then watch cycling on TV later .
Yesterday, Chinese Curry , first time since december as to having a take away .
But also ease myself back to normal at a steady pace .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and the sun is trying hard to get through the white clouds. I can’t see the Pennines.

A restful day today with my stepfather being collected to join us for a lunch of roast gammon, cauli cheese and crunchy roast potatoes. There’s a bottle of Viognier hilling in the fridge so I’m a happy bunny!

I’ve never watched Line of Duty (I don’t watch much tv to be fair - I’ve not watched it since Gogglebox on Friday) and a friend says I don’t know what I’m missing! I might have to binge watch it later in the year. Getting back out to Spain seems problematic so I might tune in with a piña colada as a consolation prize!

Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of your Mother dragonfly. You will miss her very much I expect she loved you unconditionally.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another bright day today.
It was lovely yesterday. I managed to get some weeding done and cut the lawn. It was warm enough to sit in the garden.
Dragonfly condolences. I am so sorry for your loss ??
Nothing much planned for today, a bit more gardening, finish a baby jacket I am knitting and my 10,000 steps again.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Good morning all. No plans today other than the census. My condolences to all who are suffering loss. I keep thinking that this too will pass.

Kalu Sun 21-Mar-21 09:01:05

Gingster. Cleaning windows is a thankless task when once done smears are evident. ?. I have tried various spray cleaners to no avail hoping this would be a quicker method and have reverted to my old cleaning method of tepid water, one drop of fairy liquide and vinegar. Wash window and dry off with kitchen roll, no smears. Doing a conservatory is a huge job with hopefully a sit down with a cuppa for recovery. ?. Good luck.

aggie Sun 21-Mar-21 08:57:05

Good Morning all, dull again , but at least it’s dry
So sorry to see you have lost your Mother Dragonfly xxx

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. I wandered around the garden but it's not warm enough to sit out yet.
What a beautiful photo Gelisajams
Sorry to read your sad news Dragonfly but I gather you were with her and that will have been a comfort to you both.
flowers ((hugs))
I was sad and emotional yesterday. An old friend of DH called while I was out on my daily walk, without checking first so I missed him. An email from another, overseas, friend of DH who had only just heard of his death via a newsletter and was saying what an amazing man he was.

Goodness Marydoll An emotional day for you. I wonder about your strange dream....I have a book somewhere explaining dreams....

Gagagran well done coping with your card loss with everything that's been going on.

Will you do my curtains now please Scentia I'm serious
Have a great day all you stoical grans.
Still rooting for pinchy . You are doing your best Sheep.

Greyduster Sun 21-Mar-21 08:54:20

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A dry, pale grey start to the South Yorkshire day, and cool. We may try and get a walk in this morning (there is football on tv this afternoon apparently?), or if not I will do some gardening. More seeds to pot on. Curry for dinner, which nearly turned out not to be a curry as I had it bubbling away and then turned round and noticed I’d forgotten to put the spices in (I thought it looked a bit pale!). I just tipped them all in and will hope for the best!!
Dragonfly I am so sorry for your loss?.
Sheep I hope you manage to find a solution to Pinchey’s problem - you’re very attached to her now. I love your guinea fowl!
Enjoy the day the best you can folks.

Jaxjacky Sun 21-Mar-21 08:53:40

Good morning from a cloudy S Hants. dragonfly my condolences.
Elizabeth Line of Duty is tonight, not tomorrow...don’t miss it! Marydoll your dreams sound tiring even before you get up.
The man turned up to look at the back garden yesterday, he was on time too which is encouraging, need some hefty digging done, a load of topsoil added, a bay bush out and some old roots which are lifting paving removed. He was very pleasant and surprised me with his plant knowledge, he also has access to a wholesale nursery, quote coming on Monday.
I will get to the allotment later, my friend who has a plot couldn’t go yesterday, I look forward to our chats, seeing someone else (apologies to DH) cheers me up. Said friend has a hernia op on Tuesday so will be out of action for a while.
Football later, chicken for dinner, DH would eat chicken every day. Have a gentle day all with ? or ?, both if you’ve been very good x

NannyJan53 Sun 21-Mar-21 08:50:37

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Popped over to Mums yesterday, to complete her Census online. Will be doing ours today.

No other real plans, other than yet another walk! This time perhaps along the canal. Hopefully finish my book. Roast lamb for dinner tonight.

Sincere condolences on the loss of your Dear Mother Dragonfly flowers

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts to all our missing posters

Oldbutstilluseful Sun 21-Mar-21 08:48:38

Good morning from a grey, still, day in North Hants.
Sincere condolences Dragonfly. It’s so hard to lose a parent ??.
My phone has been misbehaving over the last few weeks, it’s been randomly making phone calls without any help from me and usually at night! I’m still trying to find out why, but possibly it needs a new battery, so that’s more expense ?.
Sending best wishes and kind thoughts to all who are struggling, and those who just need a hug.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 21-Mar-21 08:42:43

Morning Mick and all

My condolences Dragonfly ?

Another day of doing nothing! I must finish my book (House of Games) and start one I can get lost in.

Gelisajams Sun 21-Mar-21 08:32:14

Good morning from a dry cool Morecambe Bay.
Condolences this morning to Dragonfly ?
I am sure you will enjoy living in Carlisle EkwaNimitee. I lived there for 15 years before moving nearer to the family. It’s a lovely little city.
Not a lot planned for today, exercising, zoom church then a walk after lunch. Yesterday was a lovely day for a walk, pic hopefully attached of the daffodils reflecting in the pond. Take care and stay safe everyone ??

Gingster Sun 21-Mar-21 08:31:37

Good morning all from Essex. No weather at the moment.

Dragonfly your memories will keep you strong. ?

Poor little Pinchy. We are all rooting for him Sheep. You are doing your best for him. X. Your garden looks beautiful. ?

grandmabatty I’m fed up with chicken too. Don’t know what to have today. We had a delicious Chinese takeaway last evening. But I had indigestion through the night and had disturbing dreams. Kept waking myself up!

Kalu I know what you mean about Windows. I’m trying to clean two or three a day. Conservatory today ?. I’ll get DH to help ?. The frustrating part is they always look smeary when I’ve finished.

Well done scentia with those curtains ? and well done Pittcity for getting your new home shipshape so quickly. ?.

A new I pad has been ordered as mine is in constant use and isn’t holding its charge. It wouldn’t charge at all yesterday but dear DIL looked at it, blew into the charge hole and it came on. ?. A technical wizard! ?

Wishing you all a lovely day ??

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Marydoll Sun 21-Mar-21 08:24:07

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it's only 1°C.

Sending my love and condolences to Dragonfly, it's been a tough few years for you.?

I've had yet another night of weird dreams, The most bizarre was waiting in the bowels (excuse the pun ?) of Amsterdam ( never been there) main station for DH, who had been in the toilet for two hours!!! ? In the dream, I too was desperate, but the remaining cubicles were being used as hospital consulting rooms!! Heaven knows where all that came from. It all seemed so real, I was quite annoyed at DH when I woke up! ?

Today is DS2's 39th birthday, (I cannot believe it). We nearly lost him twice as a toddler after he suffered anaphylaxis and was also a chronic asthmatic. I couldn't work, because I had to go to his school daily with his nebulizer and once the management learned that I was a qualified teacher, ended up being given jobs to do, while delivering his meds!
We had prepared ourselves that he might not reach adulthood. In those days, epipens had to be sourced from the USA at an extortionate rate and were difficult to obtain. He is now a 6ft strapping, bearded redhead and looks like someone from Braveheart. He was born on Mother's Day, a very unwell, wee baby. I always get quite tearful on his birthday, when I look back on those difficult times.
He is not a happy bunny at all, as although his birthday falls on a weekend, he is on call and we are in lockdown. To compensate, his fiancée has hired his favourite pinball machine for the weekend. She says that he has reverted back to childhood! ?
This is the anniversary of DD's cancelled wedding last year, so she is tearful too!!!?
At least the sun is shining ?and it's Chewbacca's birthday also???

Gaga, how upsetting for you to lose your card, but I'm glad to hear you managed to sort things out. I would love to potter in the garden today, but I'm still feeling under the weather, so altering some trousers is the plan.

For all those struggling, I hope you manage to get through the day, with as little pain and anxiety as possible. ?

Stilllearning Sun 21-Mar-21 08:23:56

Morning from sunny S Lanarkshire, thanks for sending the blue sky over earlier today Kalu!
Sincere condolences dragonfly?
I’m looking forward to making a garden visit this afternoon to a friend who has downsized and moved into a lovely old cottage near me. She left the family home she had shared with her beloved DH and children for many years, but says it was much less emotional than she thought it would be, perhaps just the right time to go.
Lovely kittens Ashcombe. We always had cats but when we moved to my present house, due to DH’s ill health, we discovered the neighbour with whom we share a driveway was cat phobic and we eventually had to rehome our beautiful Bengal Tiger cat. In fairness, he climbed in her kitchen window and she ran out into the street in her nightdress, which was the last straw!
Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday.

Susan56 Sun 21-Mar-21 08:19:10

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining?

Condolences to you dragonfly.I am so glad you were able to spend time with your mum before she died.?

Another day in the garden for DH and another day of rest for me?

I apologise dragonfly the layout of my post looks most disrespectful of you - it was not intended that way.

Dwmxwg Sun 21-Mar-21 08:10:39

Good morning from an overcast north Surrey.
My condolences Dragonfly as you say she is with your dad now
Had another very busy shift yesterday, was glad to get home to a nice cup of tea last night. I have slept really well and feel refreshed this morning.
We have a walk with our dog and DD and the boys this morning it is in woods local to DS who’ partner has a birthday today so will pop by with presents and cards and to sing happy birthday.
Roast beef and NewYork cheesecake for dinner (my favourite).
A few phone calls to make and a lazy afternoon
Wishing all a gentle Sunday

Good morning everyone from a beautiful sunny but cool day. on the east coast of Fife I think it may warm up later on in the afternoon at least that’s what’s been happening these past few days. I hear the birds chirping away I think they’re beginning to nest close by where’s my bluetits? they don’t seem to have appeared yet.

Perhaps we’ll have a little run in the car to our local beach this morning that’s where I can practice my walking skills on a flat surface. I’ve gone off the motomed it might be going back soon.

Our leased car gets picked up in a few days. We’ve gone and bought a second hand car it’s getting delivered to the door on Wednesday it’s much cheaper than leasing.

It’s been some week where I’ve sat gossiping in my back garden with my neighbours new and old. Naturally the Prosecco has been offered and accepted big time wine it’s been great fun catching up.

Who’s looking forward to watching In the Line of Duty which starts again tomorrow. ME! have a good day all you lovely people be kind to yourselves and others, the sun is beginning to shine at long last sunshine

ginny Sun 21-Mar-21 08:04:50

Good Morning from a slowly brightening N. Bucks.

My yesterday really had a big? in it.
DD3 bought DGS over for a walk. She walked with my DH.
We played distanced football with DGS. and watched him on the play equipment.
It would have been lovely to give him a hug but just to see him after 4 months ( in the flesh)and to hear him calling Nana and Grandad was such a treat !

MIL here later ytoday so need to get going so we can fit in a walk before DH collects her.

? for Dragonfly so sorry for your loss.

Hope you can all find a ?today.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 21-Mar-21 07:59:25

Hope to finish my Barbie Wardrobe today. The paint arrived late yesterday. I’ve made it out of boxes. My next task will be to find out why I can’t get the photos off my phone to my workbook!!
No baking, no cooking until my cooker is fixed. Just as well my freezer is full!! Hopefully you can see a
Mother’s Day card I had which was sooo true!!
Have as good a day as you can!!

maydonoz Sun 21-Mar-21 07:59:01

Good morning everyone from Welwyn, Herts where it looks dull but at least dry at the moment, hopefully it stays dry as I hope to take a walk later. Not having been out for two days, I feel the need for some fresh air.
Sorry to hear of your Mum passing, Dragonfly, I hope you find strength and comfort from your family in the days ahead. Every day is precious for us all, especially at this stage of life.
Am looking forward to a relaxing day today, all house chores done yesterday so we'll just see what comes along.
Wishing all of you a pleasant Sunday.

grandmajet Sun 21-Mar-21 07:54:38

Good morning everyone.
Sad times for you, Dragonfly, take care of yourself.
Oh, Gagagran, how I feel for you, that sinking feeling of wanting to turn the clock back to when you last had your card. It’s bound to turn up now.,
Time in the garden today, planting a bamboo screen in big tubs which we - or rather, he - will sink into the back of the border to screen off the new houses. I hope he will be rewarded with a win for his football team later!
We had a zoom quiz with our four children and their partners yesterday, which was great fun. They are so clever with their graphics etc - we have no idea how to do such things.
I’m still so tired - I suppose it will take a while for my blood count to recover but it’s annoying being a spectator in much of life. Still, new Line of Duty tonight - a random flamingo!
Enjoy the day everyone.
