Good morning from sunny Essex. Thank you for your greeting Ashcombe and Urmstongran yesterday. The sunshine yesterday was a tonic, and I spent a hour or two ‘pottering’ in the garden. I’ve been resting a painful foot for several weeks which has curtailed my walks, it’s still not right so a visit to the podiatrist later this week will hopefully help. Tennis should be starting up soon so I want to be fit for that.
Hoping today brings good moments for all.

Good Morning. Not sure what the weather has in store today.

I am meeting DD2 for a walk today as she has this week off work. We are going to do a history walk in a local village . Then we’ll find somewhere to sit and eat a small picnic.

DD3 saw her consultant yesterday so she now has a date for the birth of her baby ( about 6 weeks )It’s been a tricky journey but hopefully all will be well.

I hope most of you are feeling a little better today and sending ? for those who can’t quite manage it. Let’s hope we all find a ? today.

Good morning Mick and all, it is dry here on the S Welsh coast, feels a bit colder though. We are pleased with the work done in our back garden and finished just before the weather turns it seems. Mr Lins now has two small raised and boxed veg patches with a walkway between for weeding and planting. Hopefully it will keep him out of mischief.

I don't envy your task Georgesgran it was nearly two years before we felt we could sort out clothes etc following the death of my in laws.

A Sainsbury's delivery shortly and the fish van calls today, I will have some salmon. I sent Me Lins out to buy salmon last week as I was on the phone, he came back with plaice!

Glad you DH is getting stronger Gagagran it does have a knock on effect on your own peace of mind. Thinking too of Georgesgran at this very emotional time.

I walked through the local park yesterday and stopped by the pond to look for frogs, I only spotted a few but lots of huge clumps of spawn. I’ll go back tomorrow to see how they’re getting on, the transformation fascinates me. ?

I hope yesterday’s blues float off into the ether and that today is a little brighter. ???

Good morning Mick and all. It sounds like you have a full day ahead of you today Mick! Georgesgran - I hope that yesterday proved to be productive but not too harrowing - at least when the job is done, it’s done ?. dwmxwg - your flamingo appears to have a slightly wicked look in his eye, but very pretty non the less!
Yesterday was a busy day. In order to move the summer-calving herd of cattle we had to first move the ewes and lambs into the next field along and good lord, did those lambs ever give us the run around! The difficulty moving ewes and their very young lambs is that the lambs haven’t yet got the hang of flocking together so whereas the ewes are super-keen to move through the gate onto new grass, the lambs go through the gate, panic, then turn around and all race back to the field that they just came from! My poor collie had his work cut out and I’m afraid that the baby lambs might have learnt a few new words that weren’t very suitable for their delicate little ears !?. I keep reminding myself that it will get easier with every field-move!
The summer herd cows were thrilled to move out of their winter quarters and onto new pasture. There was much kicking-up of heels and bellows of joys ..... similar to how I expect we will all be once lock-down is lifted!
Today the cows that calved over the past 3 months will get to move to their new field so that will be the cause of much cow-celebration too - the joys of Spring indeed.
And talking of kicking up heels, little Pinchy had a very active day yesterday. Every time I looked in on her and the orphans she was up on her feet strutting about, whereas usually she is often lying down in her favourite spot. It’s splint and dressing change day today. ( just had to break off as a neighbour called to say that there were 3 cows out on the track! Dashed out on quad bike and got the little tinkers back where they should be.... it’s going to be one of them days! ?)

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 8°C. Mick, that's fortunate that you managed to get your appointments back to back. Hospital visits can be very stressful, but I always enjoy seeing new faces and having a conversation with someone, other than Mr MD! ?

I would be interested to hear about your cardiac appointment experiences, Mick.
Mine involved the Cardiac Rehabilitation nurse. I avoided the usual activities and personnel, the treadmill, (not suitable for me), the gym (needing a new hip), the dietitian, ( already have healthy diet, so healthy arteries, low chlorestoral) and no consultant, (no point, nothing he can do for me).

What I initially resisted, was an appointment with the cardiac psychologist, as I felt there was no need, I was fine!. After coaxing, I did eventually relent and am so glad I did. An unexpected heart attack can leave you eeling very anxious. If you get the opportunity * Mick*, accept, it's good to have someone to talk to, other than about your fears.
What shocked me was the no nonsense and blunt approach of the cardiac specialist nurse, no sugar coating, no sympathetic ear, just told it as it was.
I'm so used to the gentle RA and appointments, I was quite put out!!

Yesterday, didn't quite go to plan. No steam cleaning and no planting, Urmston, but the beef olives ? went down well and the pizza, cooked on a stone would have made any Italian chef proud!! ?

Stilllearning, what sad news for you to hear, its unbearable to think of losing a child and difficult days ahead, trying to find ways to support your friend will be very hard.

Special thoughts for HAZBEEN for her courage in opening her heart on Grannyactivist's thread yesterday and to GM for her honesty too. I'm regretting posting on it, it has opened so many wounds. ?

On a more positive note, some good news for a change! I received a text message from Scotgov yesterday, saying that from 26th April, the Scottish mainland will hopefully go down to Level 3 and we will be able to travel. It also says that shielders can return to work, which means I may officially be allowed out, if I'm careful
My dream of a run down the coast is beginning to seem more like a reality. I can't wait!

As my mum would say, I will love you and leave you. Not feeling too great today, so some gentle footering for me.

A better drive over today as it is now light when we set off.DGS jumped into my arms when SIL opened the front door which was a lovely start to the day of childcare.He is very chatty this morning!

Grandpa is playing Spider-Man with DGS so I will get on with cleaning the floors then DH will hoover upstairs later.We usually combine childcare with being their unofficial cleaners.They are both teaching full time and as Urmstongran says it can take its toll some days.

Good morning all from another lovely day here in Essex. Yesterday was really beautiful and DH decided to go fishing. He has been so lacking in energy and motivation, so I was pleased he was out in the sunshine enjoying the day. He also renewed his membership at his golf club so hopefully he’s feeling brighter. ?.

I hope we’re all feeling a bit more positive today. Just try and make the most of it and enjoy whatever we have planned (or not planned). ?

Good Morning everyone. Glorious day here on the Med’ ??where the raging winds have finally gone. Woke when our camera alarm bleeped - to see dogs in the driveway, tails a’wagging and waiting for DH to fasten their leads for a walk. I think today will be busy, as planned, and he’s just getting ahead! I should go in search of the vacuum cleaner, but instead will wake up slowly and go outside with my cuppa. No point in getting ahead of myself! ?

Yesterday achieved a lot, so I’m fired up to do more spirit-lifting stuff today. I didn’t manage the ironing due to a fairly scary hour using acid gel - painting it over the ‘tide mark’ around the pool to get the glass tiles pristine again. Welly boots, heavy duty rubber gloves, safety glasses. I’m such an Anxious Annie ..... but certainly too anxious to ‘allow’ DH to do it.? It was incident free, thankfully - no people were harmed, no holes burnt in our persons, no problem!

Went to bed tired but feeling some achievement that another Monday in these mad times hadn’t managed to lay me low. So many of us, it seems, are feeling much more than a bit down. Lots of sad posts on another thread about remembering to ask if someone is really ok. How good do we become at hiding our feelings and believing that either we need not to burden others with our problems - or people aren’t really that keen on hearing anything more than ‘oh, fine thanks’! Thank heavens for this warm and supportive thread where, if we want, we can share our troubles. Endless thanks to the dear souls who post on here and say lovely things to those who are struggling, often when they are having huge hurdles to overcome themselves. Massive pats on backs to everyone ??

Glad you felt a bit more positive gaga, it’s so hard to steer a path between motivation and pushing! I reckon your DH will slowly find his feet again at his own pace. Baby steps, eh? Keep going, Ash, that strip of Channel will suddenly get narrower, you’ll see, vaccinations in place will mean that travel will be possible again. Chin up until then!

OK, pool tiling it is. Bit fiddly but quite sociable work. They’re mosaic tiles on big ‘mats’ which cover quite large areas quickly. DH has just walked in and reported that he has found his flamingo ? for today....one fishing right next to the pathway where he walked. So - looks like it has the makings of a good day, then?.

Long list of admin type things for me this morning after assembling a slow cooker beef in ale casserole for this evening. Mr C’s favourite. Not mine! Must remember to finish the grocery order or goodness knows what we will eat next week. Mr C has some tasks he wants to do, it seems all make a mess and create noise. .

I found clearing out dad's stuff when he died almost unbearable. Only do what you want to. Grandmattie it's very difficult to get gifts for some people. A subscription to a magazine? Or afternoon tea delivered?
Yesterday was a day playing with dgs. He loves being outside. So more of the same today. A toddle to the fish man for lemon sole and I might take him to a park this morning. We'll see how it goes. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from Derbyshire where it's cloudy but dry.

DD's little dog had to have surgery yesterday as the x-ray showed he had snapped a cruciate ligament in his hind leg. He's back home now recovering.

While we were out I bought a new ceramic pot and spent the rest of the morning repotting some of my houseplants and changing pots around. I enjoy little jobs like that and it definitely lifts the spirits to give the house a new look, albeit in a small way.

Today we'll be out walking locally this morning. It's getting more difficult to find a route that feels different to the usual, but at least some fields are starting to dry out which opens up more possibilities. This afternoon we will collect a piece of greenhouse glass to replace a broken pane.

Talking of flamingos, I'm missing out as my flipping flamingo-less device doesn't recognise the flamingo emoji so all I see is a white rectangle with a black outline! Not quite the same! So here's a parrot from me instead ?

Hope today is more upbeat for everyone and smiles can be found.

Good morning from Malta where it is a bit gloomy outside at the moment.

Georgesgran I think you are very courageous to be dealing with things already. I found it so difficult when DH died and my lovely neighbour came in and dealt with his clothes as I just couldn’t do it. I had sold the house so had to clear everything, otherwise I would probably not have done it at all.

Thank you from DD3 for the birthday wishes yesterday. The birthday cake was delicious and I have a piece for later today as well. Thank you grandMattie for the book recommendation, I shall obtain a copy as it sounds lovely.
