Hello lovely Kitchen peeps ! Some of you seem to have been having a torrid time!
soop's rotten time reminds me of when I picked up something from a big garage shelf of paint pots and then finding a should-be-full pot which, believe it or not, had a split seam in the bottom and had slowly and deliberately emptied itself of paint onto the shelf, onto a lower shelf and loads of other pots, and onto a lower shelf and onto the floor.....you get the picture. It was the end of a hot afternoon last year and I was fit to blow a gasket when I spotted the mess. It must have been like that for months! It's just the total unmanageableness (made-up word!) of it all - the papers and rags and bags to dispose and where to stand stuff and trying to keep clean, as well as being damned tired, that makes it such a nightmare. Hopefully the Soop family are now are scrubbed down and in pristine form? Not sure how anyone would cope with Ronseal - and you threw away the top? Ye Gods. But, on the bright side, having looked up the Hot Paprika colour, I was thrilled to see such a delightful shade. You must be so proud of your efforts - when you're not knee deep in waste disposal, that is. When you've recovered, do nudge Fern out of the way and send a pic, please?
Galen that was awfully cryptic. You should not be in any Ambulance, anywhere - explain please, so we're not worried.
Long time no speaky, Syn. Many weeks will certainly have passed since I read of your doings. Weren't you all busy and setting up and planning a new garden along with a friend's help? Think I recall that your DH seemed to be in quite a positive mood then? Such a shame that he's obviously had a setback and is suffering now and can't see that making a move towards some outside support for his PTSD will probably not only shift his mood into a better gear and give him some new resources to depend on, but it will also make such a difference to both your lives, DD as well. Still, softly softly catchee monkey, as they say. No point in insisting but he does need to be talking through his feelings with someone qualified and giving you a bit of a break from the worry and responsibility. Fingers crossed he'll see a little light very soon.
If you're all having haircuts and vaccines and jolly times with the GC's and family, I am so pleased. If you're worried or struggling, please take care and be extra kind to yourself - and patient. Things will get better, you'll see. Glad you're over a (nother) small bump in the road, GrandmaB. x. You're o.k. hopefully, young Urms?
We've had a glorious day here, warm and blowy and sunny. I quietly re-potted some plants, changed the bed linen, washed a coverlet, washed some garden furniture, spotted some coastal helicopters, pruned some jasmine (it's gone mad!), fed lots of plants, and sat in the sun with my binoculars and some fresh pineapple and was almost given a middle parting by a Sparrowhawk which crossed the garden so fast and low that I think even he was surprised.
Don't worry muse - all us Mums deserve a bit of a break sometimes from worrying about our great big kids. Hope you're o.k., Cherry - take it easy if you need.
Panache thoughts, hugs and blessings to you both. xx ??
To you all, nighty night and sleep well. Tomorrow's another day and will likely be better. Stay safe always.
