Afternoon dear Kitcheners! The GN server was playing up yesterday and this morning, I think. It was reported. Nothing worse than losing posts!
A rather poor photo taken as we drove past loads and loads of Flamingoes yesterday. We were en route for a second be-jabbing. I am now completely be-jabbed, thankfully. If only that was the end of it all, eh? We must continue onwards and upwards and, if necessary, sideways, forwards and backwards as well. Never downwards, though. We shall stick together with this plan and defeat the gloom and doom. !
Lots of you doing good deeds, i.e. painting and decorating and making home look even better. Why not? We are having to spend enough time there, we may as well get full advantage.
Love the greenhouse, Jax. Doubtless you'll grow some lovely stuff with that helping you now.
Weather here is very warm and sunny but chilly in the shade. Still, early days and there's lots still to do before it becomes almost too hot to do very much physical work.
Wonder where that little Minx is, soop. Do you think she might have surprised herself with some kittens? Could that little cat she turned up with have been a suitor? You just never know with cats. Still, she's been absent without leave before, sure she'll arrive one day when it fits in with her busy schedule.
Hoping that your life is calm today, dear Panaches. Hoping too that you had all the help you needed over the long weekend. Thinking of you often.
I'm sitting in the garden with a magazine and feet up and trying hard to see what's on this screen in the sunshine. GranddadFrench has decreed that I am to do nothing just in case I aggravate 'something' which leads me to having nasty side effects after my vaccination. Last time I escaped with a slightly stiff arm for 3 days. Same reaction so far. I shall keep fingers crossed and be good and sit or just potter. I don't want to hear 'well, I told you so".
Choosing any artwork - or even photographs - for a wall is so hard, I find. Artwork is possibly easier. I have taken down so many frames and have vowed to go through all our photographs and paintings and choose lots of new ones for frames that I am fond of. That's as far as the plan went. How many do we have? Ridiculous. Far too many for these walls now. DH reminds me that they came from 3 houses, so maybe that's why I'm struggling with the gallon into a pint pot problem. My aim is to update - especially photographs - put all our photographs onto the computer, choose what we want and then think about storing the remaining prints out of the frames. Frames are blocking my cupboards. Downsizing just seems to go on and on. We've done very well, but there are still things to be dealt with and I am too soft and sentimental, I think, over this. Sometimes I walk into a room and think, no, no and no. These things shall go. Same with wardrobes - give away all the things I never wear, he never wears. I got to the stage of thinking (cheating?) I could alter and use lots of the fabric. No, no, again. You're never going to do it, GrandmaFrench, so just act responsibly and enjoy the space a good clearout will give.
Watch this space. I shall persevere.
Hope everyone is well, including those not posting at the moment. Glad you've taken up knitting again, anno. Lovely to enjoy something you're good at without having to struggle. A big morale-lifter.

Good afternoon dear kitcheners and a very chilly day we've had here in mid-Notts. A least no snow flurries which were in abundance yesterday!! Puzzler let me assure you that Mr BA is definitely not choosing music for the wedding Haha!! No I'm having Skye Boat Song expertly played by the Gretna Piper 
. I've been most of the day sorting wedding-y things - I think I'm getting a bit excited!! Salad with salmon and lemongrass fishcakes on the menu tonight - a nice easy one to prepare. An early start for me in the morning as Ruby will dropped off on mummy's way to work - so I may be absent from the kitchen tomorrow as I carry out my nanna duties. Wishing everyone a very pleasant evening and sending a virtual hug to all in need of a little comfort
A cheery good afternoon dear friends of the kitchen. Mr Soop says that we are now heading for the home strait. So much achieved, which is a surprise to me because I had no spare energy at the onset. It seems that the challenges have fired my flagging energy levels.
We hope that the interior decorating will be completed by Friday teatime, when at last I shall scrub myself totally clean, and I shall spend more time with you all.
BladeAnnie When as a small child I lived in the Midlands, I was taught to sing the Skye Boat Song. The headmaster's son was married to a Scottish lassie. I also learned Westering Home...which relates to Islay, just a short ferry boat away from a home in Kintyre. Oh, lucky you, we both love the sound of a piper wearing full Scottish dress.

I'm also relieved to learn that the GN website has been experiencing Gremlin interference. For a moment I thought that it was our computer on a run up to conking out again. I have no wish to return to yet another internet lockdown.
Off to scrub myself clean. I'm looking forward to sitting with my feet up. It will be an early bedtime for us. Ten o'clock sharp. Ovaltine and good book. Simple pleasures.

How absolutely perfect that sounds BA , a piper playing the Skye Boat Song .. I love that music too. We stayed in a hotel in Portree once overlooking the water and that song was of course playing in the background most evenings. My husband still talks fondly about that stay.

We’ve had a lovely day tramping through the fields and hills above Loch Ness, well wrapped up of course. Beautiful views and not too cold once we were going. We’re following the blue marker posts along the South Loch Ness trail, almost all done now so we can cross that off the list. We got home about half an hour ago, I went straight in for a hot shower and DH is making something yummy with chicken in the kitchen - such a lovely day
Hope Little Miss Fern turns up soon soop and well done with all the decorating ?

Still no visit from our furry friend. I checked her apartment. It looks pristine.
It is raining today. The front door therefore cannot be given the top gloss coat of 'hot paprika' specially mixed paint.
Earlier today, a lady phoned from Campbeltown hospital. Would I please tomorrow's appointment with the drop bot surgeon a little later than the letter which I hadn't received specified. Today, there was the appointment in the post. It had been sent on the first day of the month. Everything remains topsy turvy. Covid is to blame.
I shall be interested to discuss with her the next step along the weary journey to fixing the problem that is a blight on my life.
I have not forgotten any one of you. I still feel guilty for not having done an up to date catch-up. I shall do so just as soon as I am a lady of leisure.

I haven't yet confessed to ignoring the ever increasing pile of ironing. In fact (clears throat) I put items away untouched by the smoothing iron.
Almost there. Every room has had a face-lift. It is amazing what a coat of gloss and emulsion paint can do. Mr Soop's hard work on all the wood flooring, looks better than it did when new. He says that any visitors will be asked to wear the blue poly overshoes (as worn by forensic folk to stop contamination of a crime scene). Only joking. I trust.
After tomorrow, I shall have more time to spend with you in our kitchen.
Right now, I need to change out of dungarees and have a shower. The hours have sped by since we began the decorating.
My love to you all. I shall let you know what the drop-bot surgeon has to say. I'm not very hopeful of a satisfactory outcome.
