Soop's welcoming and supportive kitchen for kindly folk...

Hello everyone!
I'm sort of new here... I registered on here in 2013 and have just managed to log in despite changing email address.

I don't have GC but my DCs are late 20s, early 30s and I forever live in hope that one day that might happen, who knows!

Anyway, I hope to hang around and post on different topics.
?

Very smart ottoman Soop hope your both resting after a stressful Saturday.
My DGS is thirteen today when did that happen!! Second birthday in lockdown but it doesn’t seem to phase him he’s very easy going.
It still feels cold today but looking good for this week.Have a nice evening everyone.

Good evening - so much sadness in the kitchen atm. I wish I could do more than send special thoughts and love to all who are suffering. Puzzler , our little ginger gentleman is going to be most perturbed when small person arrives again tomorrow....I mean what is a cat to do?? Beef casserole for dinner tonight and it's smelling rather nice. Take care everyone, stay safe and I'll drop in tomorrow, Ruby permitting that is!!

‘Evening All’

Stepfather has been taken home by Himself. Another lovely afternoon with beef in ale (a lá Delia) for dinner. We were FaceTimed by both our girls too which was the icing on the cake. I’m off to bing watch more of ‘Big Little Lies’ whilst Himself watches the Grand Prix. Each to his own! They do say opposites attract.

Wishing everyone here a peaceful night ahead. Sadly, I don’t hold out much hope from Lara soop but thank you for trying. If anyone could melt their hearts it would be yourself. x

I do like the ottoman soop but disappointing it doesn’t hold as many shoes as you thought. This time last year we had ordered new bedroom furniture and had emptied the bedroom. We had no carpet or furniture in there until July but DH said it was so much easier decorating an empty room. The joy when the carpet and furniture arrived though!!

Very frustrating for you dustyangel.Hope you get some answers on Monday or tuesday??

Well Henry is eighteen months old today so exactly a year since he was first ill.On the positive side we have got through a whole year and he is doing well. The nightmare of getting help seems a lifetime away.Onwards and upwards little H????

TOYA and special thoughts to Panache and anyone else with sadness, illness or worries?

Annoying for you that the advert wasn’t very honest soop. I was wondering what response you had from HQ - clearly none!
I am meant to be ironing ...

I rang the helpline of the ottoman supplier. Kind man has offered a £10 refund. Fair dos.

brook your photographs are lovely. Thank you.

I am at a loss to know what more I can say to comfort Maw. Thus far, Lara has not acknowledged my message. Perhaps I should not expect a reply. Times they are a changing.

I am logging off for today. I hope to be in a better frame of mind tomorrow. Thank you all for your companionship. It means a lot to me.

I did say that I would add pics from yesterday's sofa exit.
here is one and a pick of the ottoman that, although is very useful, doesn't hold as many shoes as the advert suggests.

The ottoman took forever to construct. Mr Soop - a retired architect, managed to get into a dither. It's useful now that it's entire. It looks a lot neater. We are therefore pleased with the final result. Early morning, ( me still in dressing gown), we heard that the boys with a removal van would be with us shortly and the pain of glass was to be extracted from the sitting room window, so that the suite and chaise would pass through it. The job took a lot longer than we imagined. At least the weather was kind enough to play ball throughout. We now have a very large room. Planning on clearing bookcases and doing some painting before the new suite arrives ( in July, sometime.)

Fern still absent.

House in a bit of a "guddle" and I'm about to roll up my sleeves to re- arrange what little furniture remains.

I shall return later this afternoon to play the usual game of catch-up.

Dear Lara, I sent a brief message to you regarding Maw. May I please hope for a response. With kind regards.

Grandmafrench Thankyou, that was the sort of translation I got. It doesn’t make sense at all given that it is from a dermatologist who is wanting a check on my lungs (because of medication) Ok he knows I have glaucoma but wasn’t checking on that at all. Hopefully all will be revealed on Monday or Tuesday when I can talk to someone at the hospital.
I seem to have spent all afternoon trying to sort out M&Ss Portuguese site. I shall try to relax catching up with the rest of the kitchen. ?

Oh how awful. Poor Maw .
Maw you gave Hattie lots of good times and a comfortable home. You were good companions to each other. She had a good life with you. Perhaps she’s having a run around with Grace in doggie heaven. Wish you could be with us x

If anyone can comfort Maw you can Charley as you are still getting over the recent loss of your sweet girl Tara.
It hurts so much. ?

It’s a very sad evening in the kitchen.
Thinking of you Mawbe and sending you a virtual hug.
xx

Even worse Maw had to do all the arranging by phone- she could not be beside Hattie when she was put to sleep. As you can imagine she could not sleep so was up at sparrow fart washing clothes and watching mindless TV. It is so, so difficult.
TOYA

Grannysommerset anyone who has enjoyed the company of a much loved pet will have sympathy with your DS and his family. Like with Maw a really sad occasion.
Still thinking of you Maw hope you are ok. Much love ?

It even looks cold brook lovely pictures though, thank you.
Today I dropped Easter eggs to DD and GC’s, one in isolation, retrieving our laptop used for home schooling. Dropped a card into a friend for her 70th tomorrow, I’d had flowers delivered and separately cheese, which is on a rolling three month delivery. So, a drive around, I wonder when I’ll actually walk over another doorstep into a house. It was chilly here when I went for a walk this afternoon, I can’t believe we’ll be + another 10deg on Tuesday, that will be an allotment day. For the first time ever I’m considering some fake tan, although my skin holds a tan for a while, I still have faint marks from two years ago.
I’m not a pet owner, we’ve never had any, so I can only understand a little what a death of a much loved animal means to someone. But I recognise love, distress and helplessness. I can also palpably feel the sorrow felt by many for the lack of compassion in not allowing Maw back into the kitchen, even for a short while.
Have a gentle evening all, panache always in my thoughts.

Oh so sad about your DS dog too Grannysomerset and poor Hattie - what sad times in the kitchen today ?
I’ve been for a walk by the river in Inverness this afternoon, cold but the rain held off. We met DD2 and the DGC in the park and you know what - they wanted ice cream! Much to cold for me but they enjoyed it ?
A couple of pictures of the River Ness - I think you can still see the snow in the distance

Crikey I go missing for 2 minutes and you lot put up 7 pages !!!

I'll have to have a browse later.

I'm so sorry to hear of Hattie's sad passing , I knew she was poorly but had hoped for better news.

I am another who thinks its cruel Maw cannot be allowed to return so the kitcheners can support her.

I hope if she reads our words she can take a little comfort in that we are thinking of her and better times. xx

It doesn't seem any time at all since Maw was mourning the loss of her previous dog. A sad time.

DS has just telephoned to say that their much loved family dog has been put to sleep and they are all feeling very sad. You are not alone, Maw, and we all understand absolutely how hard it is to make that sad decision, the one last kindness we can do for our pets. Sometimes wish someone could do the same for us!

Hello to Sar, Lucca, ixion, mrs hat and seacliff and all of those of you who I may have overlooked.

Because of the news of Hattie, I do not feel in the right frame of mind to be flippant. Not today. There is much to tell you. All a bit daft, (like me). I shall therefore return tomorrow to relate the saga of the shoe ottoman, and the marathon removal of the sitting room window, through which the suite disappeared. A few pics to show you tomorrow.

I wish you all peace and tranquility. Especially our friends who are suffering sadness. I wish that we could support you.

A warm welcome to Beechnut and BlueSapphire.

It has been one of those days. I shall share with you shortly.

Dear Maw, as you will know, you are much loved and sadly missed by us lot in the kitchen. The news of Hattie was something I had dreaded hearing. And yet, you know that you did all that you could for her, and she shared a very happy home with you.
Nothing would please me more than having you back with us in the kitchen. It seems so heartless that you cannot join us.
Throughout the many years that you came and went in the kitchen, not once did you offend any of us lot. We enjoyed your company. We shared your good and bad times. I would be the over the moon if we could welcome you back.

Happy nanna duty Day BladeAnnie. I hope a certain reserved ginger gentleman is hiding somewhere less obvious than the laundry basket or little person will surely find him ?
