Meal preparation

I don't feel like making an effort tonight but it's my turn (again)

I do most of it and really enjoy it although I do like to eat out occasionally. DH can cook most things and will if I fancy a day off.

He’d never had fish in breadcrumbs before. It was what the farm shop delivered ?

I hate cooking, but I taught both my children to cook from a young age, and thankfully they both love it and are better cooks than me.

My son lives with me (back home after university), so he mainly does it now, and very nice it is too, I know I’m lucky. I do batch cook for the freezer though, for those nights when neither of us want to make too much effort.

Marginally better than chicken in a white wine sauce with boiled potatoes and cauliflower. ?

Although he microwaved fish in breadcrumbs?

I do most of it but DH does cook once or twice a week now although he never used to.

I can't wait to buy some good ready meals again - and a trip to the pub.

My husband is a far better cook than me. He makes wonderful curries (I wouldn't know how to make a curry). He does stir fries, steaks, kebabs, rice puddings, bakes bread, all sorts of stuff really. I am better at 'every day' cooking - roasts etc and things that go ping in the microwave! It depends what we're having as to who cooks. One cooks, the other clears up.

I do it all, unless it's scrambled eggs and smoked salmon then I get treated. There are compensations, he does all the clearing up afterwards, although I do try and wash as I go to a certain extent, he pretty much does all the pan washing, loading and unloading the dishwasher, it evens itself out imo.

I’ve resigned myself to it because his meals are so awful. I can’t even call it cooking. It consists of putting a piece of microwaved meat and some microwaved vegetables on a plate.
The vegetables don’t necessarily match, beetroot, carrot, celeriac, mushrooms all in a heap.

I love cooking (and eating), but it is a real treat when my OH cooks, which he does once or twice a week. He does a very good risotto, mussels and Chinese dishes.

I would have chilli every other day

I do it every single day. Unless Himself makes a chilli. I’m fed up now. I want to eat out and let someone else chop, mash and make the gravy.

I do it all.

Frankly I get bored stiff with it at times, so I’ve started buying ready prepared meals to break up the tedium.

I normally enjoy planning and preparing meals, but having no break is a nightmare
