Fantastic Flamingo Friday ??? to you all. Good morning everyone from a soon to be sunny, warm ?? South, where rueful smiles start the day. My DH and I have had a very productive week, work wise. Well, he certainly has. Pool walls have been tiled, pool floor to be started. I’ve treated bathroom grouting to a posh new clean, plants have been shifted, pots cleaned, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, even Chlöe the dog joined the big cheery up brigade yesterday, with a smart makeover courtesy of our mobile grooming lady! Not a minute for feeling down in the dumps. Today, however, on rising from our bed, we compared injuries : DH has a swollen knee (no surprise there), I can’t move my left shoulder due to mixing 12kgs of glue - with a heavy electric mixing thingy. He’s cut a finger, I’ve bruised a leg and yesterday we’ve been assaulted by mosquitoes - even though covered in repellent!!! Old age definitely ain’t for sissies ! It’s almost nothing, of course. We’re not ill - just a bit miffed that for every burst of hard work, we’re punished with injury time! Still, onwards and upwards ( but very much slower and more gingerly today, I think). And the weather forecast is brilliant. And I promised to paint the outside pool wall. Gravelling a new area will be a breeze (?) after all of this. I’ve done that before - but I just might need to pay for a full body transplant before too long. If I ever manage sit down to sew again, it may be that I’ll be stuck in my seat forever.
Today, I shall try to weed and feed the lawn. Takes no time and I must do it before the weather gets too hot. The garden then ‘hums’ like a cowshed until I water it in, but it works so well that I try hard to ignore the initial bad smell and concentrate on how nice it will look in a week or so.
Not speaking about Covid until at least next week. The delays, the lies, the battles, the politics - it’s a wonder the world’s surviving. So bad for morale, we’ve had quite enough of ‘news’.
Interesting photos, Ash. I always really fancy a long walk on downland,. For us, the Sussex Downs were so beautiful. At the moment if DH and I joined together we’d possibly have some limited success in a 3-legged race - but only if our fellow competitors were Long John Silver and Quasimodo. ? Downland walks may need to be put on hold until all parts are fully operational again ?.
I must stop whining....so many of you have constant pain to cope with, big worries and sadness. May your day be a decent one with some sunny patches today - and something to make you smile.
Thinking especially of dragonfly, dear Maw and the lovely Hattie?, and wishing little Louis an uncomplicated full recovery. Take good care of yourselves today and always, dear GMers and to all those who aren’t posting....missing you and your daily doings.
Stay safe, please ?♀️?
