Good morning from Shropshire where it looks like it’s going to be a brighter day.
My granddaughter is another who was very puzzled by the ironing board and iron!I don’t understand how they always look so neat when they don’t iron anything!
Nothing planned for today. My mum will phone at 11.She always phoned her mum at 11 on a Saturday and now phones me.We won’t have much to say today as her GP phoned me to arrange her second vaccination yesterday so when I phoned to tell her we caught up on all the news not that there was much. She gets very cross if I am ever going anywhere on a Saturday morning which obviously isn’t an issue at the moment?
Mary, I’m glad you were able to speak to your favourite GP and that he was so supportive?
Cherry, hope you are doing ok?
Have a good day all.Thinking of Auntieflo, the Panaches, tanith and Louis, maw and all others with illness, sadness and worries??

Good Morning Saturday
(89 Posts)Morning Mick, morning All from a bright and very breezy corner of Somerset.
It’s a wait and see day for us, no idea what we’ll be doing, something will occur I’m sure. Little sleep for me so pleased nothing needing either energy or concentration is planned.
That seems a long way for Iris grandmattie, good for her. Feeling sad for maw this morning. Hope you slept marydoll, what a difference the ‘right’ doctor makes.
Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Lots of people posted while I was typing! Morning all!
Ashcombe the meter fitting was very quick, about 40 minutes, and went smoothly. The chap wore a mask and stayed at a distance. Good luck with yours.
GrandMattie I would also like to sponsor Iris if possible. She is a ⭐️
Ash, don’t feel guilty about not ironing. Once when Iris was about 4, her mother needed to iron some ecclesiastical garment, put out the ironing board and was asked “What’s that?”
I iron because I enjoy the result. I have the great good fortune of not being remotely arthritic, which helps. Also because of my sewing, the ironing board is always up in my sewing room/study.
So pleased for you that you are getting close to reuniting with your DH. Must be hard..
Good morning Mick & grandMattie. I am awake far too early because of cramp. I may well go back to sleep ?.
You sound like you are looking forward to your trips next week Mick. Iris will need to rest her arms doing 3 miles, bless her.
It’s sunny here in Suffolk but still quite windy. We shall go to DS’s for DGD’s birthday. I always feel I have to justify contact - we are their childcare bubble.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s a bright start and if the bedroom window wasn’t so filthy I would need to have my sunglasses on.
My favourite daughter is coming today and if my bike is ok we will go out for a ride and have a fish pie later. We like to do something together on her dad’s birthday. This time last year we could only FaceTime and raise a toast. Hopefully next year things will be different.
I was driving along yesterday and all of a sudden I couldn’t see where I was going. There was a cloud burst for about a mile and I didn’t like that very much.
Take care and have a good day all ???
A beautiful photo, grandMattie. What a wonderful gesture from Iris! If a Go Fund Me link (or similar) is available, please post on here so contributions could be made by her GM GN fans! She is a very special young lady. ?
Good morning all, feels cold here in north Surrey, but clear skies.
DH seeded the lawn yesterday where the dog has dug holes. The challenge will be to give it a chance to grow and keep the dog off the garden for the next few weeks. Will mean lots of walks round the block.
Managed to get most of the cleaning done yesterday.
Dog walk and visit to mum and dad this morning and eye clinic appointment this afternoon.
I have a kitchen cupboard which hold medicines and bits and pieces and needs a good sort out so will do that today too.
Takeaway tonight, probably Indian.
Wishing all a good Saturday.
Good Morning Mick and all who follow. It's a clear, bright morning here on the south coast but only 1.4c on my weather station. Should soon warm up when the sun gets going.
Another outing for me this morning but only to collect DH's scrip and my Ready Reads from the library. Also need to get a birthday card for my 10 years older sister, on the Isle of Man, who will be 87 on 12 April. She has been like a second Mum to me all my life and I hope it's not too long before I can go and see her again.
It seems hardly any time since we put the clocks back and here we go again, putting them all forward. I wish we could just leave them alone!
Hope the day is a good one for us all.
Good morning everyone from a dry but rather chilly Torbay at only four degrees! I’m glad folks liked my photos yesterday and found the links interesting. It’s always good to receive feedback. My DH (safely 400 miles distant!!) says I’m like a collie as I thrive on praise! Don’t we all?!
I’m impressed by those of you who iron bed linen as lately, I’ve found that ironing has a low priority for me. It used to be one of the few household tasks I enjoyed but the effort for arthritic joints of erecting the board these days often leads me to smooth out items I would have ironed and fold them carefully to eliminate the need for it. What an admission! In summer, it will be less easy to avoid, not least as I hope to be socialising more.
Gagagran: It’s heartening that your DH is enjoying being in the garden and lovely to anticipate a visit from your bright, young DGD1 with lots of tales of her university life! I’m impressed by your walking of the SW coastal path, brook2704. Maybe, when you return to complete it, we could meet for refreshments. I know some good pubs and restaurants overlooking the views I posted yesterday! Scentia: W.M.Safari Park was a favourite day out when our children were young so I'm sure you’ll enjoy it next month. ?????
dragonfly46: what sad news about your friend's husband! ?Another to include in prayers with Stilllearning and her bereaved friend plus Tanith, whose grandson, Louis, is making good progress after surgery. ? I donned a hat in his honour yesterday when I ventured out to have my nitrogen filled tyres checked and fill up with petrol for the first time since November!
Nannytopsy: I’ll be interested to hear how the smart meter fitting goes as I’m due to have one fitted by Good Energy next Thursday, 1st April!
Thank you for all your kind comments re DH's vaccination but in France bureaucracy seems to slow things down. Younger friends of his have randomly received a vaccination if at their doctor's for other reasons. They lack the coordination which we have with the NHS. Nevertheless, it should happen soon for him, possibly through his pharmacist. I’m glad Marydoll received a supportive response from her GP.
That’s enough rambling from me .....! Happy weekend and sunnier skies to follow, according to our esteemed meteorologists! ???
Good morning from a sunny ☀️ E Kent.
Wow, sounds like you will be celebrating,*Mick*. Make sure you stay safe.
Nothing on today. A call to my friend in the care home. All the residents have been isolating in their rooms as one of the (vaccinated) carers has tested +ve.
Dad called yesterday. She told me that Iris has decided to do a sponsored walk (on her crutches) to raise money for Bristol Children’s hospital. The walk will be round Bristol harbour, about three miles. It will probably take her some 3 hours. She asked if she could rest her arms after every mile! They get very tired. Bless her, courageous little thing! She will need those flamingos ????
Don’t forget the clocks tonight.
Have a good day.
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and bright outside here in Brackley this morning .
Today for me maybe do an early small shop , and then watch TV , with cycling on later as well.
Also later put the clocks forward an hour as well, plans to get a 2 course Chinese take away later also.
But with Lockdown restrictions coming in on Monday , and the opportunity to use the bus and visit places like Buckingham ,and bicester are on the cards .
Take Care,
Mick
