Traditionally it is a time when people go away for the weekend here - the last of the warmer weather. I can’t be bothered this year we are just having family over for a meal.

Probably the same as usual, I never go anywhere on bank holidays. I'm happy pottering about in the garden or doing touch ups in the house.

Nothing....no plans yet. sad

grandtanteJE65 Mon 29-Mar-21 12:37:47

Our son is coming on Wednesday and staying till Friday.

We haven't seen him since the Christmas before last, due to corona, so I am wildly excited and so happy.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 29-Mar-21 12:18:58

We will be seeing our grandson on Good Friday . Then just DH and I home alone the rest of the weekend. We will do some ( more) walks ? and have a nice roast lamb lunch onEaster Sunday.

GrammaH Mon 29-Mar-21 12:13:26

Nothing much I shouldn't think. We often go away for Easter but by no means always. No doubt GraffaC will be busy in the garden if the weather is fine & I'll just be cooking or washing or ironing- all the usual things.

Normally we would be going to our caravan but obviously not this year (or last). We are planning a picnic tomorrow a bit further than we've been doing the past couple of weeks. We'll stay at home over the Easter weekend, as no doubt despite the cold weather forecast, there will be crowds of numpties flocking to all the decent outdoor venues, and will stick to local area for midweek ventures. Husband is suffering the after effects of covid so really can't manage much more than being taken out in the car, and a coffee and sandwich, either sitting in the car, or sitting in camp chairs in the vicinity of the car.
Not being naturally inclined to cooking, I did make the effort to make some Easter-themed cupcakes, with a view to eating some now, and freezing some for Easter weekend, but sadly we seem to have an infestation of 6' 2" tall 2-legged mice in our house (my son), and the plan to have some spare for Easter has been somewhat scuppered!

Eating chocolate eggs and hoping for a little gardening. We don’t usually go out over Easter as the traffic gets very busy.

Mapleleaf Mon 29-Mar-21 11:29:54

Don't tend to do much over Easter, other than a nice meal, and church when it's open. The problem with Easter and any other Bank Holiday is that, in normal circumstances, everything is so crowded and the roads so busy that it's not worth venturing far. Being stuck in long traffic jams has never appealed. I know this Easter is very different in that respect, but even so, it will be spent at home and, I hope, in the garden.

nipsmum Mon 29-Mar-21 11:29:19

We had a picnic usually on Easter Monday when my children were at home. I have been invited to my SIL and daughters home this year. We are in a family bubble. So no problems there.

Riggie Mon 29-Mar-21 11:13:02

Never done much over easter. Eggs for Ds and a nice meal. Couldn't and can't be bothered with going out for the day to somewhere overcrowded!!

Theoddbird Mon 29-Mar-21 11:12:36

It is just another day....

Diane318 Mon 29-Mar-21 11:12:19

We have one daughter + her family coming to us on Easter Sunday. Our other daughter + her family are coming to us on Easter Monday. It will be so lovely to see them all again. Such a pity that they cannot all come on the same day - but rules don't allow it.

Sarahmob Mon 29-Mar-21 11:12:02

I’m in self isolation until midnight on Saturday, so nothing before Sunday. I’m going to church (have booked my seat) so missed this last year. On Easter Monday will probably visit the coast (20 miles from home) and have a long walk along the beach.

Harris27 Mon 29-Mar-21 11:00:36

My sister is in our bubble just doing Sunday Easter tea. Also going to see son number one at his house for the first time since Christmas he has a lovely back garden with heaters so we’ll be fine can’t wait! Break up Thursday from work.

Polly4t42 Mon 29-Mar-21 10:53:59

An Easter egg hunt in the garden for my 4 yr old grandson in our garden, will try with his 18th month sister with some brightly wrapped toddler biscuits but Alex may need to help her find them. Hoping for dry weather.

aonk Mon 29-Mar-21 10:53:48

Nothing special planned here. We don’t usually mark Easter with any kind of family gatherings anyway. The AC are all just happy to have time off work. I have bought eggs for the GC which we’ll give them in their gardens at some point.

Kate1949 Mon 29-Mar-21 10:50:32

Just an ordinary day here.

hazel93 Mon 29-Mar-21 10:32:50

We are staying within our "bubble" this year- just DH, DS and DGD. DIL will be working sadly.
It will be the first year DGD old enough for an Easter egg hunt around the garden so that will be wonderful.
To all braving the great outdoors - I salute you !! As temperature here expected to be around 12, ain't no way that BBQ is leaving the shed !!

EllanVannin Mon 29-Mar-21 10:23:10

Nothing arranged as yet as it'll depend what D is doing. As I'd mentioned on the Good Morning thread I'd love to go to D's if only to see the GGC. I wouldn't expect her to do any extra cooking/ catering so I'll be having lamb and extra goodies courtesy of M&S.
Weather's supposed to be getting cold at the weekend so I won't be sitting in any garden feeling miserable, best place is indoors.

Witzend Mon 29-Mar-21 10:22:43

Going to dd on Easter Sunday. I know they have a fire pit but not sure about e.g. a gazebo in case of rain.

I’d like to give Gdcs cash instead of choc. eggs, but they’re still too little to appreciate it.

hulahoop Mon 29-Mar-21 10:22:01

We will still be isolating so nothing just another w/end .

kircubbin2000 Mon 29-Mar-21 10:15:03

Grandad will be 80 so we will have a bbq in the garden.

Polarbear2 Mon 29-Mar-21 10:10:08

Lamb in the fire pit?!?! I’m off to google that! ?

merlotgran Mon 29-Mar-21 10:09:41

I'll be spending Easter with DD and DSiL (they were my bubble) as I have now moved in with them while I sell my home.

Marmight Mon 29-Mar-21 10:06:48

I’ll be spending Easter Sunday with my bubble DD & family. SiL will cook lamb in his fire pit come rain or shine
