Good Morning Easter Saturday

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s bright but chilly.

Our day didn’t go to plan yesterday as DD wasn’t well so we did our Easter egg hunt with her then packed up lunch and took it over to DD’s.

We have a break from childcare this week so off to buy paint and wallpaper today.If the weather is fine we will paint the garage door, if it’s too cold we will decorate the dining room.We also have an awning to put up at the back of the house.I say we but really DH with me as his assistant.

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is sunny but chilly. The weather was the same yesterday but it didn't deter lots and lots of visitors. We drove to a quiet countryside lane for a peaceful walk. As darkness fell my multi-coloured solar lights came on - one happy bunny.
Gosh, it was very busy on this thread yesterday. I love the three wreaths made by Marydoll’s future DiL, Grandmabatty and Auntieflo (accompanied by bunnies and chicks). I have serious igloo envy, Gingster and would love to spend time in Scotland doing tai chi on the beach. MrGaga’s 8 mile marathon in 30 minutes is simply outstanding! Well done that man.

I hope Blossoming is recovering from her fall down stairs and that grandmajet and Daisyboots find some solace in the concern and kindness shown here.

It's a grey, cold start to the day here in South Yorkshire, but I still hope to get out into the garden again to finish tidying and reorganising some pots. DH and I had a good day sorting out the garden yesterday and cutting the grass, so it looks respectable again ?. The forecast cold snap for Monday/Tuesday has meant a few plants have been covered with fleece again, just to give them a little protection.

Well, the bread is ready in the bread maker so I'd better go and deal with it.

Good Morning All x.
Yet another fine start to the day, lovely in the sun but that wind is fairly icy so finding a sheltered spot in the garden is adviseable. I'll get some more washing done while this weather is holding I think.

All I seemed to do yesterday was chat with a few neighbours both in the garden then at the front, so I caught up with everyone's doings, it felt quite normal for once.

I changed tack with my breakfast yesterday and had a couple of my favourite Maran boiled eggs and toast soldiers. They didn't touch the sides delicious. Back to the crumpets now.

Sad news about Bogdon Sheepandcattle very unfortunate that it now doesn't look as though he'll be a suitable candidate. How well your DH did with Popeye, he should have also trained as a vet, though I'm sure there are a certain amount of " tasks" that you can perform between you that at times avoid a vet's visit. Popeye looks none the worse for the ordeal.

I hope to see Ruby-Lou at some point, she must have a " special pass " as it's nearly another 140 miles on top of the 6 mile cut-off point that people are allowed for visiting. I'd have said it was more damaging not seeing her family .

Enjoy that interesting trip out Mick it'll keep you up to date with what's going on regarding the new train track.

Good morning, Mick and everyone from the Cumbrian coast which, again, is gloriously sunny although a touch frosty first thing.
I had a lovely drive up to Carlisle yesterday to check on my new home and take up a few things which I won't be deputing to the removers. I stopped at a garden centre on the way to buy a housewarming present for someone else but couldn't resist getting a plant for myself also!
I did a bit of measuring up for new furniture...I need just about everything upstairs bar a bed. Not even a loo roll fitted in the rather posh bathrooms. Yes, they are plural! Only an asset when you have visitors. I just view them as things that need cleaning.
I had a rare experience on the road up..I was literally the only car heading north, everyone else seemed to be heading towards the Lakes. Normally there's a lot of mixed traffic, cars, lorries, farm trailers, which can make for a frustrating trip on what is a twisty country road in spite of being the main road.
I was hoping for a rest day today but I think a bit of cleaning is due as the letting agent is bringing round a prospective new tenant to view on Wednesday.
Do keep posting and sharing, Grandmajet, it will help you along to unburden yourself and get the support I'm sure you will get here.
Gagagran, that bike ride must have been a huge psychological boost for your DH and will thus help his physical recovery. May it continue.

Good morning from Durham. Grey, overcast and chilly. Another here who has had an awful couple of months, but I’ve had a good talk to myself and life must go on - it may be different, but I must make the best of it. I’ve 2 DDs, a DGS and another due in June. At the moment, there’s so much to do, it’s like wading through treacle, so a weekend off.
Today, I shall meet a friend for coffee and the chap’s coming for another attack on the garden.

Good morning from a dull Cheshire. Today's plan is making pizza and Easter nests in preparation for the youngest two grandchildren's egg hunt tomorrow, as it's to be followed by an outdoor lunch. Hope not too much chocolate eaten ( by them ) before they arrive !

Morning from a sunny S Lanarkshire, such a nice start to the day. Yesterday I enjoyed a lovely walk with my local girl, then a sit and chat in her garden. I’ll probably walk again today on my own, we don’t take this weather for granted here!

Nothing much to report from here. I think I'll start cleaning up the barbecue ready for our family two-week-late Easter fun day. It hasn't been used for six years, since DP passed away, so will require some TLC I should imagine. He was a real BBQ whizz kid and I have never used it, so we're going to be on a bit of a learning curve! But it's the best way to feed the five thousand out of doors.
Apart from that, no great excitement, just the gentle old same old.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s cold and grey in South Yorkshire this morning. Yesterday we were out in a warm sunny garden cutting grass and weeding flower beds, hoping to finish off today but it isn’t going to happen if it doesn’t warm up! I made chocolate cup cakes which I will finish decorating today as GS and his Ma and Pa are coming over tomorrow. I’m excited!
Sheep what an awful thing to happen to your lamb - you couldn’t make it up could you? Thank goodness for the quick thinking of your DH and your vet. Remarkable what they can do these days.

Not a lot happening here today, I’ll do my usual walk this afternoon although I always find the weekends really busy, probably more so this weekend so although we can now travel within our local authority area for any reason, and I’m looking forward to visiting different parks, today I’ll just walk from the house as usual.

Will be visiting my in laws this afternoon for a garden visit which will be the first time I have seen them since Christmas Eve on their doorstep.

A long overdue email to send to a friend in Cornwall who writes novels to me . I would much rather speak on the phone to her but she is rather difficult for assorted reasons and so she has to wait until I can face replying. 2 finger typing is a long old job .

The hot cross buns I made yesterday were tasty but tough as old boots! No idea what went wrong as I followed the recipe exactly.

Be careful on your trips out Mick especially if you aren’t wearing a mask . The official advice is still only to travel when essential.

Good morning from a cloudy Manchester. I have booked the 2 older grandsons on a donkey trek experience this afternoon. Back here for egg hunt, followed by food and drinks in the garden. Be nice to have the family together so hope the sun comes out at some point. Dil has a keep in touch day at work next week before finishing her mat leave end of May. Yesterday we got the pushchair out of hibernation and power washed it ready for use by our lockdown baby. 9 months old already! Have a lovely Easter Saturday. Good morning from a grey, cold Colchester. Back to winter here. Gardening is on hold again and we've done all we can do around the house. Waiting on better weather and for busy tradespeople to have time to fit us in. Everyone's spending their holiday money on home improvements. My next project is to soundproof the boiler cupboard.
A quiet Easter weekend here as it's too cold to sit outside.

Good morning all from a cold, but very sunny Glasgow. As Kalu has said, we cannot go far, unlike England, made worse by living in a very small Local Authority, not much room for travelling! ☹
I bet you are off to your favourite garden centre this week, Kalu. I have never been and am going to try and persuade DH to take me, if I feel well enough. As long as I stay outdoors, I should be fine.

I am absolutely delighted to welcome back, travelsafar, after what has been a truly dreadful year for you. You have taken the first step, which is the hardest part. ?

I have no plans today, apart from making the hot cross buns, from the dough which has been rising in the fridge.
Also some plants lying for a few week, have been waiting for me to be well enough to plant them.
I think my potato, growing bags must be stuck in the Suez Canal, as they have never been delivered. I'm not sure what I will do. ?

We had the loveliest surprise yesterday. Dollie came for an unexpected garden visit, as the weather was so nice.
In the space of a year, she has gone from a little lady to a wild child!
Much to her parents' consternation, their princess had a fantastic time, hiding in bushes , trying to climb trees and playing with the water in the bird bath. The last straw for her mum and dad was when she tried to do a pole dance on my rotary washing line. ? Poor papa is exhausted today, after his golf and then being forced to join in the shenanigans.
However, he is positively glowing this morning, having seen his wee darling.

It has been the first time Dollie has been in the garden since the fairy doors were put on the trees. Her only question, Where do the fairies do the toilet?. We told her the The flying toilet man had brought a mini one for them.
When we were having our extension built, we had a portaloo in our drive for the workies. It was always delivered by a lovely, but eccentric man, whose day was made, if Dollie, a toddler at that time, waved to him.

They were going next door after that to see DIL's parents and she asked us to stay in the garden, so that she could talk to us through the six foot hedge.
This little fishwife could be heard shouting, Gran and papa, get down on the grass and look through the hole to talk to me.
Since I knew that her other grandparents were already in the garden, I advised her to go and talk to them, to avoid any awkwardness.
Her reply, But gran, it's you I came to see!. Papa and I beat a very hasty retreat!

Good morning from a grey Leicestershire. It was quite warm in the sunshine yesterday.

We had drinks with DD and SiL ( Zoom) last night to celebrate his promotion. Then we all went on to a show ( Zoom). It was quite fun.
Worried about DS, he is phoning every day which means he is not happy.

How sad you and DH cannot be together Ashcombe. My friends in Holland are starting to get the vaccine now so maybe it will happen in France.

Good morning all from a lovely spring morning here in Lueneburg . I have red all your posts this morning and they are so interesting and informative. I just like them.
I have had some good news - I had my 1st vaccination with the Asta vaccination on Thursday morning. Unfortunately my reactions were really quite bad, but today I am absolutely on top of the world. I feel all the more for all of you who are not well. Mine was just a blip.
I had a busy time this week: a school boy friend came for lunch and we talked and talked till evening sitting outside in the warm sunshine. Another evening I was invited to friends for an evening meal. Easter Sunday my daughter in law, her new partner and my granddaughter (my son, her husband died when Emma was 5 years old - I still find it hard to put this on paper) are going to visit me for an Easter lunch. Her new partner is almost like a son to me.
