Evening dear Soopers. You are so funny about your family dog, YiaYia. We have 2 dogs like that - of the Dyson breed, presumably! ?. I roared at your tale of Sam, N&G. Years ago, my first dog - a young Boxer - was about as exuberant (and pushy) as is possible to find. He never failed to invite himself to any outdoor activity - especially one involving food or footballs. Food was his passion. He was taken out one Sunday morning for a walk in the woods by my Father and with their elderly poodle. Father arrived home with such a tale ... and not sure who'd behaved worse, dog or Dad! It seems that our dog recognised the path to the car and the car park from well into the trees. He romped into the car park well ahead and - to be fair - came upon a car with all windows open, a car almost identical to my Father's car. Inside, two elderly couples with a picnic spread out on their laps. Dog bounded straight through a window - can you imagine ?!!!?? Doors instantly burst open, elderly persons leaping out in a hail of sausage rolls, small sandwiches, packets of this and that and a fair amount of shrieking and bad language. "My god, whatever did you say?" I asked. He replied that he had NO WORDS, so said nothing....not a word....and "hid" in the trees and whistled for the dog. They continued their walk until it was safe to return to his own car again! I know, outrageous. I expect those poor souls could have used some counselling after that. The dog, of course, snaffled what he could and hurried on to his next adventure.
GrandmaB pleased you had your hair cut and even more pleased that your Mum failed to comment. Much better, since she cannot be relied upon to play nicely, that she says nothing at all. You were happy with it - no need for her to be involved in any way at all and peace reigned. Result ! Take it easy for a few days.
We went out and bought some new pots to replace our storm-ravaged ones of the other night. Very busy, far too busy. Of course we forgot that it is Ascension tomorrow - a day off/Saints' Day in France. Lots of those working will "make the bridge" - in other words, add a day of their holiday on to a National Holiday which together with the weekend will make the bridge into the next week. This country has so many public holidays, it makes your head spin. 3 this month with May 1st and VE Day, 8 May. We've been putting our dustbins out and getting them in like we're losing our minds - must write them all down on the calendar and pull ourselves together. 3 collections a week means a lot of wheeling up and down the drive if it's all for nothing. First World problems, I think! ?
Hope you're feeling lots better today, soop and anyone of you lovely people feeling under the weather, take it easy, stay safe and look after yourselves properly please.
Huge hugs to brave Panache and her dear man, and waves and smiles and kisses being blown to anyone I've overlooked.
A demain/'til tomorrow from French France !
