Good Morning Everyone,
Its a bright and sunny start here in Brackley this morning, after yesterdays trip out having an easy day today .
Will do my usual shop ,and then stay in , also yesterday , I had my booking for 2nd jab next week , with a blood test health check the day after .
Mind you have form filling on the later, blood pressure average over 7 days , height , waist and weight plus alocholic consumption which will be hard to give details thanks to lockdowns .
Take Care,
Mick

B9exchange

Thank you Grandmajean, are they any better behaved? smile

My rescue is getting on nowB9exchange but is a lazy lump and very timid. Suits me fine as lost the last rescue ( presumably killed on road but we never found him nor found out which was awful ) My Orientals were noisy , clever and devious ! Great cats. Had six of them in total ( not all at once )

Good morning from NW Scotland, where it’s sunny with some cloud and a bit warmer than yesterday. Good to know the cold and snow isn’t confined to Scotland, but it really should be warming up by now! Something to look forward to - my yoga class will be starting up again in July. Can’t wait.

Good morning from another infrequent poster. Had a smile at some of the husband shopping tales. BP my husband used to go out for a paper every day, sometimes to the supermarket and come back with all kinds of goodies! During most of the last eighteen months thoughhehasbeen shieldedandI no longer drive so home deliveries have been godsends, Now we can ‘go out’ neither of us do so much and I find I ammissing the surprise shopping he did! Someone said it’s called Covid Brain when you are scared of shopping ?but I wonder if shopping will ever be the same whoever’s doing it ??

Grandmajean Fri 07-May-21 12:14:45

Welcome Amalegra
Love your catsB9exchange -used to have Orientals but now have a rescue.

Good morning 'Mick', Annie, and all
Am having a good day so far, so want to celebrate with a Gillybob, YAY!
Showered and hair washed, two loads of washing on the line.
A visit from daughter, bringing flowers and chocs.

Shall drive DH into town later, for his volunteering afternoon, and a dear friend is coming for a cuppa this afternoon.
I feel as though I have won the lottery.

Will pop back later , to catch up with all the 'doings'
Have a good day one and all.

Good Morning All x.
Sunny for now, as it was earlier when I nipped to the corner shop then as soon as I came out of the shop the heavens opened with hailstones. I timed that well I must say. A sudden breeze whipped up with it too so it was like a blizzard grin

Anyway, I was soon back indoors---can't seem to rush the same these days, especially against the wind.
However I got back just in time as the postman met me at the gate with another parcel, which was part of yesterdays honey. This one was honey hand-wash and honey shower gel, all M&S's ( must be an offer on grin ) Very acceptable though.
There's a 3rd package due by all accounts so will email D in Oz and thank her for the Mother's Day gifts.

The face on that poor dog was a picture DWM It says a thousand words.

Mick that's quite an MOT they're putting you through, all for the best though and making sure that you're good for another few years yet.

Good to hear from you annsixty , hope you're okay.
All we want is our Gilly and Maw to add to the mix.

See, it's nearly lunchtime again and not a pot washed grin

I hope all is well with everyone so take care and stay safe ( we have the Indian virus here sad ) xx

Welcome Amaegra I hope poor little Darcy feels better soon.

B9exchange Fri 07-May-21 11:32:23

Welcome Amalegra yes indeed, worry over GC never stops. Or their parents for that matter!

Amalegra Fri 07-May-21 11:21:31

Good morning to you all! My first post on this part of the forum so here goes! Bright and sunny today in Poole, but seems rather chilly out sadly. Have just had a call from DD re my GD’s rash which is spreading all over her body, a bit like the eczema rash she had recently. Updated later after virtual consult with her GP who thinks it is probably viral relating to her sniffly cold so all well! We do get concerned about little Darcey as she was very preemie born last April at 27 weeks weighing about 2lbs. But she’s making good progress now and is a gorgeous little thing, dragging and rolling rather than crawling around, but still not sitting up very well to DD’s worry although she’s told that’s fine. Her two sisters adore her and she has a special bond with her six year old brother. And as a previous person said, you never do stop worrying about them!

Morning all, so lovely to see the sun after yesterday. Marydoll that is exciting news about your research study. Good to hear about the dogs improvement too.
Urms are you seriously suggesting that DH would stick to a list? Even when we go round the supermarket together he keeps going off-piste and sneaking things into the trolley! Online ordering, feet up, wine in hand, with screen turned away from him is the way to go.

Our chocolate point Siamese has reverted to his habit of peeing standing on his hind legs. Whilst he looks very cute, sadly he hasn't mastered the knack of directing the flow (like some GC I could mention) and DH has not been amused at having to clean the floor (I am always concentrating hard on something when this happens, you would be proud of me 'Urms*!) Will have to buy an extra deep plastic storage box to try and defeat him. Here he is with his playmate, 'butter wouldn't melt'......

Urmstongran Fri 07-May-21 11:17:22

annsixty ?
Always a pleasure to hear from you, no matter how infrequently. x

Nannagarra Fri 07-May-21 11:15:59

Hope you can see the squirrel.

My DH excels at food shopping - both in store and online - but does sneak in pasties and pies!

Oh gosh Urmston despite my mum being the original #lazygran I am far too much of a control freak! I often wish I could be more like her!!

Lowering standards is Lesson No. 3 dragonfly as I will outline next week.

Good morning everyone from sunny Gower.

Haven't had the opportunity to read all your posts this morning everyone so I hope every one of you are okay, I will come back and read everyone's doings later.

We'll be well and truly plastered in the kitchen by this afternoon ?. The work is going well I think and all the workers have been really nice and diligent ?.
We managed to get the kitchen tiles yesterday and are both happy with the choice ?.
No real plans for today, except a bit of pottering, tidying up and dust rearranging later. I do have my daily group quiz which is helpful in keeping me sane and I may actually get a bit of time to relax with my non artistic artwork ?.
One positive in recent days is that my nextdoor neighbour has been quite settled, phew! Her twin girls are still with their dad.

Have a good Friday everyone, I miss our Friday girl and hope she does return to posting with us soon. I hope all our missing posters do .
flowers for anyone who needs or would like them ❤️

Pittcity Fri 07-May-21 11:04:16

Urmstongran

^Hopefully we can get to the supermarket this afternoon to stock up for the weekend^

Lesson no. 2 from the #lazygran training school Pittcity. Perhaps suggest your husband goes alone with a list while you wait in for the window man? Plants a small seed going forward .... whilst acting in a spirit of cooperation.
??

No way Urmston. I can't send him for more than two things and one of them would be wrong. He'd also come back with bags of stuff that we don't need!!!
I'd love to go on my own but if he's here he has to tag along, saying we need to go out together more often. It's really so that he can drop items into the trolley and double the bill. His usual Friday outing has been cancelled ?
He ignored the one person rule during lockdown, I wish they'd enforce it more robustly!!!

Good morning from the Sefton coast where we’ve just had a hail storm.
Yesterday I had an MRI (much dreaded but overcome thanks to a truly amazing radiographer). My ‘reward’ was a lovely mooch round Sainsburys. Today I’m travelling into Urmston’s territory to have a dental scan followed at 6.40 by an over-the-phone physio appointment. The ‘booby squeeze’ has yet to come. Our calendar now looks like our in-laws’, DH teased - full of health-related appointments. He’s busying himself with a builder who, as I write, is estimating the cost of replacing our extensive flat roofing with pitched. We’ll need deep pockets!
Lovely to read all your news and so pleased to hear Marydoll is soon to be in the hands of the creme de la creme. Thinking of those with troubles, worries and wobbles.
Have the best day you can everyone.
?????

Just read through and wanted to say well done BlueSapphire small steps are the way forward.
Ekwa I’m still getting deliveries, but have done for over two years, I just don’t like shopping much, hope you feel better soon. On that note Urmst Mr J has perfected the art of failing, on occasion, to obtain a handful of correct items from the local shops...#lazygrandad maybe.

EkwaNimitee Fri 07-May-21 10:45:49

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a sunny but chilly Carlisle. I intended to go into the city on various errands this morning but I’m a bit wobbly with yet another kidney infection. Just as well because the road outside has been clogged up with lorries and vans from early on so getting the car out would have meant getting them all to move, not necessarily a possibility. They seem to be working flat out on the houses up from me. It’s entertaining but I’ll be glad when they’ve moved further along.
Your poor dog, Dwm, his expression says it all!
Good luck with that research, Marydoll and I hope the day is better for you. And indeed for all with problems.
It’s also good to see some of you getting out and about. Life is slowly getting back to some sort of normality? Perhaps reflected in the fact that Tesco’s still has a lot of delivery slots left round here for the coming week. Are we back to visiting the supermarkets?

annsixty Fri 07-May-21 10:37:56

Good morning all from a dulling Stockport.
A very irregular poster I know but I read everyday and several posts resonated with me today.
First, I am finally coming out of my difficult time and realise how much needs doing to the house.
Getting tradespeople is proving so hard.
All tell me they have never been so busy in their working lives.
I have agreed to some new windows and lead time is10/12 weeks.
Decorators are booked up months ahead and I have contacted a handyman service for those niggling little jobs and they can’t even come to look for nearly a month.
Either Covid or other factors are certainly paying off for some.

Next Ingleton waterfalls, that revived some lovely memories.
A group of us used to walk together one Sunday in each month ending in a pub lunch.
We decided to have a weekend away and settled on Ingleton.
On the Saturday we did Ingleborough, my H and I were seasoned walkers but we soon discovered some were not!!
My friend actually cried on the way down and the final straw was when we found out we couldn’t get any food, everything closed at 3pm.
One of our party didn’t even come down to dinner, he felt so shattered.
The next morning, those of us able did the waterfall walk, it was beautiful.
Such happy times.
I can’t remark on all the posts, my memory isn’t good enough but it is so lovely to read every morning and my best wishes go to all.

Another one whose husband does the shopping with a list! Mr. B goes off the list if he spots bargains or seasonal things, but he’s a good shopper. He should be, he’s been doing it for the past 18 years grin

Purplepixie Fri 07-May-21 10:34:25

Good morning from a sunny East Midlands. I didn't sleep very good last night so I stayed in bed until 9am! Which is late for me. Not much planned for today and the weekend and must get my mojo working again. I feel like I am going through the doldrums with everything.

Stay safe and sane, not easy.
