Can't settle to sleep

1.30 am and my mind is racing and I am overwhelmed thinking about the future.
My husbands Alzheimers is causing daily problems that I can cope with - just about! However I am really scared of what I know is going to come and don't think I will be strong enough to care for him . He is in denial about his condition. Alzheimers is destroying our relationship, he is often very indignant, is convinced our teenage GC is stealing from him - untrue!! , never instigates conversation, is unable to recognise my anxiety , slumps infront of the tv but does not follow the programme. Misplaces almost everything he picks up and has become very needy. I can still go out alone but he sulks and makes me feel guilty. He does enjoy a trip out for cake and coffee , we go out every day !!!
He has changed so much, changes that only I see - he presents well to friends and neighbours.
After over half a century of marriage I never envisaged feeling so lost , lonely and helpless. We are fortunate in having amazing. supportive children and I am grateful for that.
Time to try and get some sleep now ready for a new day and hopefully a better one!
