I'm not excusing it but you can see where Noel Clarke learned his behaviour from cant you?
Good Morning 1st May 2026 "May Day"
Tuned To 'The Archers' For The First Time In Months.
I have searched the site but can’t find any thread about John Barrowman. I’m sorry if I’ve missed one.
I can’t believe what has come to light about his ‘antics’! I used to think he was ok but have seen too much of him recently altogether (whoops, that’s the wrong thing to say!). He has confessed to taking his penis out at every opportunity and explains it was all fun and frolics and everyone thought it was hilarious and how entertaining he was. He would place it on a woman’s shoulder! Am I the only one to be utterly disgusted and horrified about this?
I hope he never appears on tv again, especially not on a programme that children watch like Dancing on Ice. He seems to have a monstrous ego and loves to shout and sing and generally be loud and obnoxious in my opinion. He wasn’t qualified to sit in judgement on anyone in any programme, I don’t think!
Anyone agree?

'It was tomfoolery': John Barrowman admits he repeatedly exposed himself on Doctor Who set but insists it was 'in good humour to entertain colleagues'
for those who haven't seen this, all over the press yesterday
Am I the only one to be utterly disgusted and horrified about this?
Undoubtedly not.
Anyone agree?
I expect lots of people will be shocked and horrified
Gay, straight, bi, trans, Martian, putting your genitalia on or near someone is never appropriate.
Jeez. Imagine the stick women would get it we went around doing this.
It is very obvious that the actress who played Rose Tyler's mum was deeply uncomfortable.
Yes I read that Noel Clark was demonstrating with a microphone what Barrowman actually did with his penis. They are both in the wrong, but it seems Barrowman was the main culprit. How strange that an adult man should behave like a 15 year old juvenile and think it could be perceived as tomfoolery by other adults. It sounds as though his mental and social development stopped in his mid teens.
Reading the link provided by Trisher, his behaviour sounded appalling, how can he describe continually exposing himself and actually touching people with his dick as a way of entertaining his colleagues. The actress who had his willy put on her shoulder, was having her make up done at the time so kind of held captive, gross!!!!
"With hindsight he realises it was wrong" Disingenuous bollocks! his co star Noel Clarke has been exposed, no pun intended, so he no doubt he knew the shit was going to hit the fan with regards to his inappropriate behaviour too. I don't buy the warped rationale that maybe because a gay man is doing this to women they won't be threatened or intimidated
Did he give a thought to their feelings whilst he was carried away by what he regarded as a bit of fun, I doubt that!
Good heavens Trisher I did not realise that. How on earth could the imbecile imagine it would be amusing. Unless, of course, when people laughed and pointed he took it the wrong way and thought they were amused.
Yes I am quite concerned that such a culture was tolerated at the BBC.
Thanks trisher I have seen the microphone excuse a lot. I knew it wasnt accurate because of the numerous incidents of exposure but couldnt work out where it came from.
It's criminal behaviour !
I used to like him as I was a fan of Torchwood. To be honest Im really beginning to wonder if the whole BBC organisation needs looked at. First Saville and now all this. What more isn't being talked about? Ive went right off John Barrowman.
He got his penis out Noel Clark used a microphone to demonstrate to someone what he did. Uggh! www.out.com/celebs/2021/5/07/john-barrowman-apologizes-regularly-exposing-penis-doctor-who
Yes I suspect Christopher Ecclestone was being a decent man.
BlueBelle
Did it happen a long time ago? I can imagine woman today would give it a sharp slap that would bring it down to size
I have seen the clip of the Dr Who convention when the incident was discussed. It was relatively recent.
The women involved, who are mature actresses who have achieved some level of success in their profession, were clearly uncomfortable discussing it but obviously felt unable to speak out, probably for the very same reasons they did/said nothing at the time.
When women are sexually abused by a man - and I consider what Barrowman did was such abuse - the reaction is often disbelief and fear. I know I may not have had the courage to speak up in the same circumstances, particularly when my current job and potentially my future career could be at stake. Men who speak up or criticise are seen as brave, women who do so are seen as difficult or trouble-makers.
The fact that they would have been speaking out and hence causing trouble for a man who was an important part of a very popular TV show and who was gay would just have made it all the more difficult.
If you search for what Christopher Ecclestone said about why he left the show and read between the lines, it seems clear that it was Barrowman's character, influence on the producers and “antics” were a major factor. And probably that no-one at the production company was prepared to do anything about it.
I don't think it was that long ago, from what I've read it was when when Christopher Eccleston took over the lead. I was looking through the thread on MN about this, and one poster mooted that CE who was excellent in the role did only one season, there was no suggestion that his behaviour was anything but exemplary but maybe he couldn't stand all the "tomfoolery" which is the understated way John Barrowman described his indecent exposure> Maybe that contributed to his early departure decision because he was well received in the role. It seems that many of the woman who were a butt of his tomfoolery were either behind the scenes, wardrobe, runners etc. or had minor roles in the series, and as such would have possibly found it too intimidating to speak out. I did hear some comments from the production team, along the lines of "getting his willy out was his bit of fun", it seems he did it frequently, for a grown man he sounds as if has some sort of arrested development behavioural problems, the way very little boys find the word "willy" funny, but even little boys know not to get it out! I agree Luckylegs really unacceptable behaviour imo!
He’s a creep and his behaviour is not acceptable.
I heard that it was a microphone he placed on women's shoulders and pretended it was his penis. Not sure if it was a very large or very small microphone. Whatever the truth of it it was an unpleasant thing to do and obviously a form of abuse.
Well the time when it seemed to be talked about was David's tenants time which ended in 2010
It is indecent exposure and he is a dirty old man. Shame on the people who witnessed this and did nothing.
very clever Bluebelle !!
Did it happen a long time ago? I can imagine woman today would give it a sharp slap that would bring it down to size
Or is is tom tool era
I think he’s hyper and egotistical as has been said before.
The exposing of himself some might call ‘fun’, he called it ‘tomfoolery’ .
I call it disgusting.
My friend's son is an acto and Barrowman was well known for whipping it out. It's a power thing, isn't it? I'm a star, I can do anything, attitude. As to why the women didn't say anything, maybe they did complain and were ignored. That would be common in the industry, based on the number of reports.
Had someone done that to me I think I'd have passed out.
Had he done it to me he might have been yelping very loudly.
