Gingster?
Backseat Driver, Former PM Tony Blair Reckons The Triple-Lock...
Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey above but its dry at the moment here in Brackley although could have rain showers throughout the day .
Plan for today , catch bus to Buckingham ,and then to Bicester , will di usual there have a coffee , hopefully the last time officially outside .
Small shop and bus back home , yesterdays surgery visit for blood test , resulted in unable to extract any.
So again in a couple of weeks with a morning appointment , otherwise OK , the blood pressure monitor readings I gave seem a little high so the she took it again , but explained that maybe the one I brought seem to be different as to fitting it on, but reading taken there was lower than those I gave .
Watch cycling unfold in Italy on TV ,and keeping an eye on where the GB riders finish.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning (late) Mick and all from a dull northwest Lancashire coast.
FaceTime today with DD in south who is arriving tomorrow so did a proper shop yesterday and bought too many fattening things as had only eaten a banana. Never shop when you are hungry is the old adage. How true. I was reading in bed last night and had a packet of crisps (disgusting habit). One bag was not enough, so got up, fetched the other five and finished them off. I’m sure they were not full size bags?
The Indian variant is worrying, we seem to be going backwards.
Will read through later and thoughts to anyone with worries.
A woman after my own heart eating those crisps!
Monk that made me laugh about the blue tits ??.
I think my sons group are called the Hadleigh Plungers.
We’ll have to think up another name - perhaps the ‘Wee Willy Winkies’ ??

Morning all, welcome back Maw, and great to hear your DD and DGD are now safely home Scentia. Enjoy your cuddles with both GC today, it is such a special time.
Enjoy your cake Ash!
The clips have arrived for the pelmet rail, so hope to get that repaired and out of cats' way today.
We have decided to celebrate freedom by booking three nights away in an historic hotel near Gloucester, leaving on 23rd. Will be so strange to be sleeping in a different bed, and being waited on!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is another padded jacket and ☔️ day. Greetings to MawBe!
Such positive news of Marydoll’s lovely day yesterday, brook 2704’s weekend away and Cherry doing well. How witty that the free swimmers call themselves the blue tits monk08
; although I’ve missed my daily dip I’m not tempted to add to their number but I will join with Stilllearning - I’d feel exactly the same. Sending hugs to Fanny and Auntieflo.
Thinking of those with health problems and wishing that everyone finds a reason to smile and laugh out loud today.
Good morning from a very wet East Midlands. More jam making today and maybe some chocolate chip cookies. Come on Leicester today!
Thank you Auntieflo, that's so kind.
And belated birthday wishes to Mary ??
I really hope that you had a lovely day x
Good Morning All x.
Dull and damp and slightly cooler than of late, but smells nice and fresh.
Another visit from two blue-tits which seems to be a regular thing as they make a bee-line for the pine tree outside the patio door. The insects must be juicier
I get full view of their antics.
The cats just sit and watch---from behind the door, but don't show signs of wanting to dart out.
I don't know what the day will bring as D said she has the weekend off. It depends what the children want to do, normally she'd pop in but we'll see.
It was lovely to hear of Marydoll's grand day and as usual I laughed about the flowers on the step, but how lovely. Didn't you do well ?
Dexter is a lovely animal, a real cuddly dog.I'm sure you'll miss him being around Dragonfly, I know I would.
How good is it to have Maw back in the fold ? I was so pleased, and to have updates on Rosie too will be great.
Lovely also to meet the new addition to the family Scentia, that feeling of the first hold is so special. Enjoy that time.
Loved the pic of the swans and all their brood, delightful. Such graceful birds. I'm so glad they're protected.
I was going to get the chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow but changed my mind when I saw the pack of lovely fresh lamb chops that I'd had delivered from Asda on Thursday. So it's chops again tomorrow with Jersey's this time and cauli. and carrots. I must have eaten half a bag of the potatoes yesterday with fish and peas, they were so tasty for a change.
I must get washed and dressed and show willing just in case anyone calls, though I must admit I'm quite happy as I am
Enjoy the day everyone and those on their travels, take care.
Hope the day goes well for all. Stay safe xx
It's a wet morning here in York's we are hoping it will stop later so we can go for a walk .Good to see you posting again Maw. I am being lazy this morning not showered yet ?Have a good day everyone .
Oh Fanny, I missed you out. I hope you are better today after your sad day yesterday.
Good morning Mick, Annie, and all, and so lovely to see Maw back here at long last. We shall all want to see a picture if Rosie soon, unless of course I have missed it.
Marydoll, Happy belated birthday wishes, sounds like you had a wondrous day. Well done, and hope you are not wiped out.
Yesterday after phoning the cancer nurse, then my GP, I was given a 3 pm appointment. Wow!
So first I did a bit of much needed housework, just the lounge, oh, and I had to hoover up ghe glass shards I had missed after shattering a jar lid. My, how the bits fly far and wide.
Then after lunch a good friend arrived to plant up 4 garden pots for me, and she has done a beautiful job.
So off to Dr. I was seen by a student, under my GP's supervision. The appointment lasted 45 minutes!! The upshot was I was sent to A&E. I think my GP likes me to have something to do on a Friday afternoon/ evening.
A blood clot or DVT was suspected, but luckily turned out not to be the case, so this time I was home by 9 pm. DD and SIL collected me and brought me home, and we will see them again this afternoon, when we try out the new sofa/settee for comfort, have tea and cake, and discuss next Saturday's arrangements for when I attain the great age of 79.
When you are 19, and a young newly married, you never expect to be that old.
Thoughts to Cherry, Dragonfly, Lins , Georgesgran
and to all who have worries or problems.
Thinking also of Bellasnana, and our missing friends.
Have a good day one and all.
Fanny
and a big hug
Good morning everyone from me in Derby.?
And what a good morning it is too, to see the welcome return of Maw! ?
It was my Grandmother's funeral yesterday, in the Black Country.
I decided not to say a eulogy, which was just as well as I was a snotty, weeping mess of mask, tissues and steamed up glasses.
(Thank you to Ashcombe and others for their advice and wise counsel about the matter.)
I was a bit cheeky as I bought home the flowers that I had bought for Nan.
It was a very large white spray of lilllies, roses and heritage chrysanthemums, which took me over an hour and half to arrange into three large vases. They look gorgeous.
It's definitely what Nan would have wanted (ordered!) me to do!
In fact it was my Nan's friend who suggested I do it, and I've got to respect her wishes of course ?
I'll be staying in bed for a while (leg is agony after four hours in the car yesterday); catching up on here of course; listening to Any Questions and Answers, watching the football; and M&S Chinese food for tea.
Have a good day everyone.
And a special big hug for Maw, and a kiss on the nose for Rosie (or is it the other way around ?)
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s brightening up at the moment although we had heavy rain again during the night. Our boy wonder has a football match this morning all being well at the pitch inspection.
Himself has just gone down in the lift to the larder to get what we need food wise for the weekend. Bacon & egg on toast for breakfast this morning and my stepfather has requested the SOAP dish for tomorrow’s lunch as we haven’t had it in weeks. Easy to assemble tomorrow anyway!
Glad your daughter is home Scentia and that you are back MawBe. I can imagine your relief GG13 now all your adult children have received their first jabs. Yay!
Himself will be watching the Cup Final I dare say. We’ve also been asked (weather permitting) to mind the grandchildren and give them their tea and baths so that daughter & son in law can go out for a drink together.
Hopefully today will be good to us all. Keep safe. x
Good morning Mick and all from warmish (the sun has just popped up) Lueneburg.
I just wanted to wish Marydoll and creativeness very many happy returns. I hope they had a lovely time yesterday.Welcome also to creativen.
I am busy sorting out which things to take to Britain and clearing the garden of weeds - the constant rain, which we have had - encouraged them to grow rapidly.
I am wishing you all to have a very pleasant day. Take care.
Good morning everyone. The Gower is grey and it's drizzly today.
Welcome backMaw ?. I hope Flynn enjoys his birthday, a treasure hunt sounds great.
No real plans today, that's just perfect ?. A chillaxed day, some non artistic artwork, a phonecall or two and the footie match later. My WP wants to get some gardening done but I don't know how much he'll actually get done in this dreary weather. I'm hoping it'll brighten up I can then have the lounge all to myself as he does like to keep busy and he enjoys gardening.
Thanks Lins, I slept well so I'm very rested ?
Whatever you are doing today I hope you find some enjoyment doing, take care one and all ❤️
Good Morning All, lovely wet rain here , not the thumping down stuff that runs off , but soft stuff that waters the garden properly
We have an old oil tank that catches the rainwater off my Son-in-law’s huge shed/den and it is useful for the dry spells
Great to have Maw back
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, 8°C here.
What joyful posts so far. So glad to see your DD is home Scentia Wonderful to see you posting again, Maw!!!!
Mick, I had to take my BP machine to the surgery, to calibrate it and check the readings with the surgery machine. It may be worth suggesting that to the nurse to ensure accuracy.
Thank you everyone for all your good wishes yesterday. I think it must have been one of the nicest birthdays I've ever had. I think circumstances have made us look on life differently.
There were some very amusing moments along the way!
I took myself off to the Silverburn Mall, which I hadn't been to for over fifteen months. A craving for M&S potato farls led me there! Most of the ground floor of the multi storey car park is full of disabled spaces. There was only my car and one other in the spaces, its usually full by 10am, as sign of our troubled times.
I didn't last very long there, as there was nowhere to sit down, and I was struggling.
While there, I saw a message on my phone from a friend and ex colleague, saying my she had left flowers on my doorstep, but hadn't expected me to be out. (Caught out again!).
Later, my neighbours told me they had a good laugh, as my doorstep looked like a shrine. My friend had been very reverent and it looked as if she was laying flowers on my grave!
⚰ (They have a warped sense of humour!!) It was very kind of her, the flowers were beautiful white and red roses, my favourite.
Back from my outing, which was interupted by the Ebay queen, phoning to ask where I was and why I was out on my own, (the security services are everywhere!) I of course dozed off, cuppa in hand.
Doorbell rang, it was my friend from across the road with a gift. We gossiped chatted for ages. Had lunch, fell asleep, doorbell rang again. This time it was my ex colleague back again, out for a walk with her Italian friend. Now the Italian part is important to the tale.
They stood in the middle road and sang Happy birthday to me.
Raving about my Italian food hamper, I realised I had made a hugh faux pas! The company who delivered the food hamper and the Italian lady's family are arch rivals in the restaurant business. That killed the conversation stone dead! ?
Doorbell rang again, more flowers!
Door bell rang again, it was my darling Dollie, (in full performance mode) with DS1 and DIL. More lovely gifts. DIL is trying to start a small cake business and had gifts of home made mint Aero and biscotti fudge. ( Italian theme again!).
After a delicious take away, we played the Rome version of Monopoly. As I mentioned previously, we had a vocab sheet and we all had to speak Italian, (DH's orders) but we hadn't reckoned on the fact that it was actually a genuine Italian set. All the Community chest and Chance cards were in Italian. Chaos ensued!! ? Google translate went into meltdown! Surprisingly, I won, I'm sure it was fixed, I never win!!?
Brook enjoy your visit to the West Coast please and hopefully some photos, sothat I can try and work out your location and come and visit you! ?
DS2 is coming later, so another busy day ahead! I will be back later and catch up with you all.
I have breakfasts to cook, or the guests will only give me 1*. After their last visits, I was given a low rating and must up the ante to improve my trip advisor ratings! ?
Have the best day you can, lovely Goodmorningers!?
PS this has taken me an hour to post, it wouldn't preview. I haven't been able to even to GN at all, so I've missed a lot of posts. ?
Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s dry at the moment in Suffolk but it won’t last! I think we are all getting some rain today.
The church clock is striking 9 so I really should get up!
After celebrating on Thursday with DS, it really is DH’s birthday today but very little is planned apart from a request for fish pie.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Morning Mick and All and especially MawBe good to see you back on GN.
I bet you had fun yesterday Kitty with the Wonderous Wolfie ?
Off to get the last things needed for the soggy picnic tomorrow for when we meet up with the family after 7 months apart. Can’t wait. ?
Morning Mock and all
Pleased your DD is back home Scentia , enjoy your first cuddle with your new GD.
Hello MawBe you have been missed.
I am a happy and relieved Mummy, all our offspring and wives have now had their first jabs (even those in Africa).
It’s grey and damp here, I shall venture down to the butchers at the other end of our road a d probably nip into the little Sainsbury’s local next door. Then it’s back home and hunkering down.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s a little brighter and dry for the moment.
Welcome back Maw, I hope Rosie is settling in well and the birthday boy has a great day.
Have a fabulous weekend brook the wet weather last weekend didn’t stop us enjoying our break. Scentia so pleased your DD is home with her new baby.
Enjoy the bbqs Sarand*Grandmabatty*. These no shows seem to happen often gingster, so annoying.
I’m completely wiped out today after my first day back at my charity shop. There’s been a change of manager since I was last in and the atmosphere is very different, no quiet moments allowed and not a word of thanks at the end of the day. It’s a lovely shop though and I enjoy the chat with customers, it feels very good to be back in the world.
Not a lot happening today, perhaps a mooch around our wee town now that everywhere is open, sorry to hear that Glasgow will stay at this level for another week while the rest of us enjoy more freedoms from Monday. Hopefully it will be just the one week.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day especially those with sadness or illness to bear.
Hello from Cheshire. Dull and ready to rain. No plans . DD popped round last night and we had a walk. Non stop nattering which was lovely.
Will read posts properly later. Have noticed that Scentia's daughter is home. Good news.
Have a day all !
Morning from S Lanarkshire, very grey looking but hope springs eternal! Hope it stays dry for you Brook
I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch with DD and DGD yesterday, but the cafe was more crowded than I expected, no tables had been removed to give greater spacing and windows were closed. I felt okay because of having had my two vaccines but I don’t think I’ll be rushing back. No one else seemed bothered so perhaps it’s just me!
Heading over to my bubble daughter’s home this evening. She has planned a little celebration to mark my second vaccine and steps towards freedom, I feel very lucky.
Wishing everyone the best day possible but always remembering those in our group with health and other worries.?
