I was so saddened by the interview with harry and megan , why would two people who have got exactly what they wanted are happy to create such pain for others

EllanVannin Sun 16-May-21 15:19:30

Yes, he is Annie.

Just reading about a deal they've made with Procter and Gamble " which sells " racist " skin-whitening cream ".
Is there no end to their spite ?

So no-one has listened to the interview - just bits highlighted by the media, which could possibly have been taken out of context

I have read the written transcript, and there is no doubt that Harry intended to say that he wouldn’t inflict the pain of his own upbringing and his Father’s own upbringing on his own child.
If he wants no contact with his own family he’s going the right way about it.

A 12 year old walking behind his mother’s coffin without a hand hold or hug is pretty dysfunctional behaviour in my book. If he is emotionally damaged his upbringing undoubtedly made a contribution to it.

How come that William seems well adjusted, has a happy family and gets on with the business of being a working royal whilst enjoying the right work/ family balance then? He had the same upbringing.

EllanVannin Sun 16-May-21 15:27:02

Many siblings are as different from chalk and cheese lemongrove, same parents, same upbringing etc, but end up so different in every way. A mystery of life.

The statement about parents and children is standard philosophy for anyone going through therapy paricularly in the US. The accepted theory is I believe "if you don't make the journey your children have to". I don't know if it is true or not. I can see that for Harry there is a lot of stuff in his life and his father's life that would seem to fit in with that philosophy and of course talking about it is part of making the journey.

lemongrove Sun 16-May-21 15:29:45

That’s very true EV but if they have had the same upbringing, then it wasn’t their parents that were the problem.
Harry will find it’s not all that easy being a parent as time goes on, especially with teenagers.

lemongrove Sun 16-May-21 15:31:30

Couldn’t he talk to a therapist in private trisher ?
Well, we know that he could, there’s no need to do all his therapy ‘on air’.

Buffybee Sun 16-May-21 15:31:57

It’s all about the $$$
He has no talent, his only commodity is being born a Prince and hating it, and his family......apparently.
How long before the USA get as bored with him bleating on, as we are?

EllanVannin Sun 16-May-21 15:34:51

I have two daughters and a step-daughter. You'd think my step-daughter would be the " different " one, but you'd be wrong.
One bio and step-daughter are more like myself, my other bio daughter in Oz is totally different. You never can tell.

EllanVannin Sun 16-May-21 15:36:57

The teenage years will be the test lemongrove. Pity I won't be around to see/ hear all the fun and games grin

lemongrove Sun 16-May-21 15:41:19

Harry and Meghan remind me of John and Yoko, famous, wealthy, and whinging.Maybe they could try having a week in bed and giving interviews on how to achieve world peace.
It seemed to work for J and Y back then, who wanted to get away from the trappings of celebrity-dom by having a whole roomful of the media crowded round their bed and hanging on their every word.

lemongrove Sun 16-May-21 15:42:32

Hang in there EV for another 12 years?

Ellianne Sun 16-May-21 16:02:36

I think it is very sad that the closer Harry gets to having two beautiful children of his own, the more bitter and harsh he is being towards members of the family who raised him.
His latest words are very hurtful.

EllanVannin Sun 16-May-21 16:07:17

If I keep up this determination, I will,*lemongrove*, I hate missing anything grin

Each child has their own experiences despite having the same family background, even genetically identical twins develop different personalities, so you cannot state that because William seems grounded, family experiences can't have affected the younger brother. You are not inside this man's head, so if he says he is suffering you should not dismiss it ( just because you don't like him.)

Madgran77 Sun 16-May-21 16:41:39

No question he is suffering. But how he is dealing with it, talking in such detail about his family, speaking on behalf if his father and brother about he thinks they feel, implying serious criticism of mystery fanily members behaviour, all in tge name of "helping others" (oh, and making money!!) is questionable and feels very uncomfortable. If he wants healing he either needs to sort it out with family not "the world" or if necessary walk away from his family and shut up about them

Anniebach Sun 16-May-21 16:56:57

William has said he was given the choice to walk behind the coffin, his grandfather told him - if you want to do it I will walk
with you.

If William had decided not to do so Phillip wouldn’t have done
the walk, the wailing crowds caused more distress surely.

Boz Sun 16-May-21 17:03:28

If you tell Californians you have "suffered" you will get a modicum of sympathy not given to you by the British Public, who will cast a jaded eye upon our little spoilt Prince.

Buffybee Sun 16-May-21 17:09:47

The idiot is upsetting Americans now!
He's said there's a lot he wants to say about the First Amendment and described it as "bonkers" .
He's being told to go back home on social media.
One comment was "after trashing the UK, he's telling the US how to run things now!"
I can see these interviews back firing on him very soon.

Smileless2012 Sun 16-May-21 17:10:41

If only he could take some positive steps to begin the healing process, by sharing that he would be in a position to help others but his constant whining helps no one, especially himself.

Anniebach Sun 16-May-21 17:12:43

It is sad, he is a loose cannon, his family must be so worried

Smileless2012 Sun 16-May-21 17:15:20

What!!!shock you mean he's trashing America's first amendment obviously because of the part that refers too freedom of the press, despite constantly shooting his mouth off to anyone in media who will listen.

Perhaps amending freedom of speech wouldn't be a bad idea in his casehmm.

I for one am more than happy for America to keep the pair of them.

M0nica Sun 16-May-21 17:16:06

PH says he wishes to break the trend and for his children
if I have experienced some kind of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father, or my parents, had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so I don’t pass it on.

But surely he is doing just that in both the Oprah and this interview, by constantly wittering on about his awful childhood was. Sooner or later they will read all these incontinent burblings and feel an enormous burden on themselves to constantly prop up his weak ego and tell him he was a wonderful father, even if he wasn't. I cannot see him dealing well with teenage tantrums when his son/daughter is shouting that he is horrible and they hate him.
