I sent that poem to a friend of mine who had a very difficult relationship with her parents.

This is the last verse

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.

We are being encouraged to talk when we feel down. Part of what a lot of people go through is an inability to talk. They don't want to talk to anyone.

It's a massive problem with no easy answer. And one size certainly doesn't fit all.

Could it be that Harry has no other means of making enough money to support his extravagant lifestyle ( and obviously his private income is insufficient !’ He craves a quiet private life , but is not qualified or able to do anything else to earn a few dollars.
Perhaps he should read Philip Larkins poem “They f* you up your mum and dad “Apologies if someone else has already suggested that!

I think it's fairly obvious he is in therapy from his conversation, and actually good luck to him if he feels better, if he wants to talk openly after 30 odd years of having to keep quiet well why not? You don't have to listen to him if you don't like what he is saying. Personally I think it's deadly boring and so are most of his family.

My friend who works in the Mental Health field says "genetic abuse" is a term from a particular form of therapy (can't remember which) so I'm guessing he is in therapy. Or has been.

Personally, I think saying you're having therapy is encouraging and empowering for others. Maybe going over the details in public is not so wise.

Talking of redheads, back in the 60s they had a dreadful time at school. I was constantly battling for my friend who was endlessly teased.

We have grown out of that now, thankfully and redheads are what we want to be!

I find this really surprising as red hair is commoner in Scotland than anywhere else save perhaps Canada. I've always seen red-headedness as a particularly Scottish thing.

There are quite a few redheads in my extended (English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish) family. I've never heard any of them mention bullying (or anything at all) because of their red hair.

Harry in particular looks like he is trying too hard - exploit this, exploit that. Opinions on this, opinions on that. It must be mentally exhausting and if he takes on many more causes he will be less effective at campaigning for the ones that actually matter to him.
Will people soon tire of his views on anything and everything and will he then lose all credibility? I guess he needs to keep the RF digs uppermost in his repertoire because at least he has some experience in this field and no one else with any clout will argue with him on this one.

I too love red heads, always have.
My MIL family all had differing degrees of Auburn hair.
Sadly my children didn't.

To be honest, and I've mentioned it before, I believe H or M are using every popular topic to stay in the public consciousness.
With calculation, and much determination, they have mined all topical issues.
Ecology, race, mental health, family difficulties RF, now the constitution.

It seems very clear to me that their PR team are earning their wages.

They dont care which issue they exploit support so long as it takes them forward.

I've just seen the trailer that Rad Dude, aka Haz, has done with Oprah about the new TV series on Apple TV. Pretty impressive trailer, similar to those for a film.

Mega bucks. Big names. Glenn Close is in there. Lady Gaga.

It's all going off for Harry.

Hopefully he'll stay in USA and live his happy life.

Those are his children's cousins and grandparents. I'm sure the children would like to know each other. Let the 2 worlds meet now and then.

I think he should sit down and have a chat with Marcus Rashford, a young man who had a very difficult childhood and has turned that to a positive, no whining from him, no blaming his parents for going hungry just turning that experience into a motivation to help others.

I wonder if he would be prepared to spare a few minutes to help Harry get some perspective.

Yes. I always wanted a red headed child because it runs in my family and had great hopes when my husband grew a beard and it was red.

criticising Charles and put it forward as a hurtful comment.

But was she just twisting it? If you take one comment with no indication of tone you can make it sound bad even if it wasn't. He was probably overjoyed, he had done his duty, he had his heir and spare.

What on earth is Prince Harry thinking? Not content in slagging of the UK is now turning on the U.S saying ,in a recent speech, in his own words ,would he /could he?? really be that stupid ? although he doesn't (claiming )understand it, so shut it then, The Fifth Amendment is 'Bonkers'.

Well just as a point if information, a number of royals both historic and quite recent have been redheads. Edward 7th for one.

And Plantagenets and Tudors were all redheads.

Maybe that’s why they decided on Henry, to be known as Harry.

To those who are interested, too much navel gazing then exploiting oneself on the back of it, is detrimental to the perpetrators own mental health.
Let alone encouraging others by your actions to do the same.

I think Prince Charles’ remark about the red hair was part of a withering comment re the Spencers’ red hair.
My great grandfather referred to each baby as “another monkey” but loved them, I believe. Looking like Winston Churchill is another remark.
An earlier post mentioned the custom at funerals for ladies to wear a shoulder length black veil. I think that was an excellent idea and it’s a shame that has disappeared.

Just occurred to me that therapists, psychologist, psychiatrist, well -being gurus etc make a living out of mental health.... so why not a sufferer , just a thought, .....
for anyone who believes that this is what Prince Harry is doing . .
