Good Morning Everyone,
The sun is up , as its bright and sunny here in Brackley this morning.
Today, housework , followed by bus journey to Bicester , for my usual hour there , with a coffee plus inside for a change.
Feels more like spring this morning as well .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from North Yorkshire...it’s still raining. I’m hoping the sliver of blue shy that Gwen spotted drifts 20 miles northwards!
Despite the rain I have washing on. I need to keep up this week as the decorator has confirmed for next..lounge, dining room and conservatory followed by the kitchen and utility. I need to choose the colours. Charity Zoom meeting later.
Harri you should contact PALS. It’s horrible when poorly people are messed about.
Ash enjoy your birthday and your visits north.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining.

I’ve slept all night! Opened my eyes for the first time at 7.45, I can hardly believe it. Normally I’m awake around 4 for at least an hour.

An old school friend is motorhoming in Scotland for a week from East Anglia and today we’re going to meet up. It’s been a couple years since we’ve seen each other so I’m looking forward to it.

That’s not acceptable Harri, what a dreadful way to treat sick people.

I think I’d be finding a friend to join me on a short break grandMattie , life has been so stifling and a change of scenery can be uplifting.

Have a lovely time Ashcombe, I hope it won’t be too long till you can be reunited with your DH.
Love the photo of the escapee Gwen.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it promises to be a sunny day.
I hope the pain in your knees is lessening Grandmafrench and that you have a speedy recovery. How lovely to be returning to T’ai Chi and seeing your DS2 this week grandMattie. In the same way that Ashcombe is visiting her AC and friends, you’re finally being reunited. Enjoy your meal Scentia; I like your style. To put it mildly, that’s not on harrigran.
Today I’m picking up DGD from school. We always stop to count the time with dandelion clocks, look at other wild flowers (she’s too tired to recall their names), inspect the effects of fungus on a tree stump and giggle at a very fluffy cat which meets us to have its tummy tickled.
Keep a beady eye out for a flamingo and hold on tight if you find one.

Good morning all from sunny Essex.
Sar -is your boat in dock at Two Tree Island . It’s beautiful there with all the wildlife. We used to go a lot. Must pop over soon sometime.

harrigran what appalling service you are having from your hospital. Your poor DH doesn’t need the extra stress. And neither do you.?.

Ashcombe have a wonderful week away. ?. Take care on the roads.

GM , I know what it’s like to have an awkward and at times grumpy DH.
And Urms you probably don’t realise how draining it can be to constantly try to organise and motivate them into doing something they don’t want to do. You tend to give up the uneven struggle ??. I would arrange a short break with friends. It’s much more fun. ??

Not much doing today, so will read, walk the dog and generally faff.
Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever it brings. ??

Jaxjacky Tue 18-May-21 08:35:49

I’ve now woken up properly...
Happy Birthday Ashcombe ??? enjoy your day, travel gently.?

Urmstongran Tue 18-May-21 08:38:13

You’re right of course Gingster I don’t know what it’s like (fortunately). But I think communication is key. Talking about the why nots. Grumpy husband just gets all his own way because it makes for a quiet life and he gets all his own road? Surely relationships are about compromise. Have a holiday this year and agree to forgo on next year for example. Talk about if anyway. If I didn’t I’d be so resentful and that must spill over into how harmonious a partnership is (or isn't). I don’t like the idea of one partner always having the casting vote.

But as you say I’m guessing here. Entrenched behaviour over years, probably does mean a holiday with a friend instead and just leave grumpy at home.

Gingster the boat was originally at Two Tree Island, now at Wakering boat yard on the Crouch. Very peaceful and lots of birds x

Ellianne Tue 18-May-21 08:50:10

There's a yellow ball in the sky this morning. Does anyone want to play catch?
Have a nice day!

Gingster Tue 18-May-21 08:51:36

Urms my DH will usually bow to my wishes, eventually, but it does sour the occassion. After 50 years I’ve given up and lead my own life. That sounds horrible, but we are happy in our own way. You Learn to live with it. When we go to our cottage by the sea, we spend all our time together, so this sort of compensates. You are lucky to have a like-minded DH who is harmonious with you . We can’t all be the same, I suppose! ❤️,

Anniebach Tue 18-May-21 08:53:35

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Gingster Tue 18-May-21 08:53:56

Sar yes beautiful there too. Enjoy your peace and quiet. ?????⚓️

Marydoll Tue 18-May-21 08:54:07

Urms, Grumpy husband just gets all his own way because it makes for a quiet life and he gets all his own road? Surely relationships are about compromise.

Easier said than done, if husband is reluctant to talk, let alone compromise. I too, now have a grumpy husband, strong, silent type he wasn't always like that! I've learned it's best to do my own thing, when he is like that!

GM, I can empathise! flowers

Nannagarra Tue 18-May-21 08:56:05

As you can see gM you’re not alone. If I lived in your part of the country I’d happily ‘play out’ with you!

Urmstongran Tue 18-May-21 08:56:40

Sorry Gingster I don’t want to come across as contentious. You are right of course. Each marriage (or partnership) finds its own level of acceptability. I only commented because granMattie doesn’t sound happy.

Morning all,

It’s brightening up here in South Yorkshire, but still on the chilly side. I’m getting tired of this now and long for a little more warmth, like many others, no doubt! ?

Enjoy your trip away and your birthday celebrations, Ashcombe. It’s sad that your DH can’t be over as well, but let’s hope that won’t be the case for too much longer.

Hoping to see my friend later for coffee if she’s free, it will be so good to have a catch up in person rather than on the phone.

That’s an appalling lack of communication, Harrigan and no doubt their excuse will be the letter to cancel must have got lost in the post, or some other feeble excuse. As suggested, contact PALS, especially as this is not the first time it’s happened.

Well, I hope the day goes well for everyone. Take care.

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Our wardrobes are finished, so no workmen here today.
Lots of housework and laundry to tackle. I will also need to walk to the supermarket.
DH is going fishing to allow me time to get stuff done.

Happy Birthday Ashcombe and hugs all round x

hulahoop Tue 18-May-21 09:02:47

Harrigrancomplain you and oh can do without any more stress .Ash enjoy yourself drive to see family and friends .GM like others have said go with friend if oh doesn't want to go.Take care all ?

Stilllearning Tue 18-May-21 09:06:32

Another morning from S Lanarkshire, looks lovely outside.

Enjoy your break Ashcombe, sounds like lots of cheering catch ups although your main one is still out of reach, you are very uncomplaining about that,

That was so bad harrigran, you and your husband must have been so upset. It’s ridiculous that you should have to, but probably worth you calling to check ahead of time from now on, if you can’t rely on the hospital to contact you.
I’d like to think a complaint would change things but to be honest, I’m not sure.

I had a wonderful couple of hours yesterday with my two youngest grandchildren, we just slotted back in and I was fine for the journey home.
Case numbers are going up in their area though, so fingers and toes are crossed for next week.

Zoom book club this morning, as far as I can gather nobody liked the book which is unfortunate for the ‘chooser’, tact will be required!

Wishing everyone a good day, especially those feeling a bit down ???

Feelingmyage55 Tue 18-May-21 09:07:15

It is a cold, wet day here in the north of Scotland and the heating is on. I have three layers on and short of wearing my outdoor winter coat in the house, needs must. We were always told to put on another layer rather than turn the heating up!
Grandmabatty. Now I’ll have to make dough boys tonight. My nana used to make them and they were so light and fluffy that they would have won a prize. We thought they were a treat and didn’t understand that it was an economy until in our teens.
Well, yesterday we went out and because it wasn’t raining stopped for a coffee at an outside table. What a treat. Over a year since having a coffee and cake. Couldn’t bring ourselves to sit inside yet but the area next to us is still in level 3 and we decided to be patient for another week or so. The shop next to the cafe emptied just as we were ready to leave so I went in and bought two presents that are so nice I won’t want t give them away?. Slept like a log for once and I think it was having a normal and happy day that did it.
Harrigran. Shocking for your poor DH but also you and BIL. All that effort and time from three people wasted. I hope you get it resolved because you have such a difficult time anyway. ☕️? from me.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Gingster Tue 18-May-21 09:14:49

Urms not contentious at all. Just a chat between pals, like I do with my other friends. It’s good to know peoples thoughts. .

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. Heavy showers forecast this afternoon so I am going to try and cut the grass before lunch. Should be a health walk today but with the forecast I shall not be chancing it.

Apart from that no other plans for today, just the same old.... Waiting to hear from someone about a quote for a new garden gate.

Best get a move on or I shall be sitting here all morning in my dressing gown.

Hope those feeling down find a bit of sunshine ?.

hollysteers Tue 18-May-21 09:17:12

Good morning Mick and all from a breezy mixed up weather wise northwest Lancashire coast.
Daughter here and son arriving later. They will cook, which is nice and I wish my IBS stomach would calm down, it’s done one of its regular turnabouts...
Cant think what to wear these days as the wind is so chilly but it’s MAY!
Watched Halston on Netflix with DD last night, v good. Then Discovering Rex Harrison, an interesting life and my son has a look of him. My grandmother looked very like Rex, complete with eye bags ?. I wonder how many people knew Rex was a scouser!
Happy Birthday Ashcombe and thoughts to all with worries of any kind.

Urmstongran Tue 18-May-21 09:18:21

Gingster ? thank you!

Gingster Tue 18-May-21 09:40:28

That made me chuckle holly . Your grandmother looking like Rex Harrison ??

Blossoming Tue 18-May-21 09:40:45

Good morning all from a lightly clouded Lancashire. Sunny intervals forecast for today and there is quite a bit of blue between the clouds at present. Happy Tuesday ?
