Alima
I was just having a laugh with a poster.
I wasn't 'ridiculing' anyone.
Do I have to preface this thread with 'light hearted'?

Pretty Woman is one of my DH's favourite films!!

Alima Sat 22-May-21 11:39:44

Have never seen Pretty Woman, what is it about that film that provokes such ridicule then Fanny? (Do like the Roy Orbison song with the same title though).

Grannysyb A Place in the Sun just gets my blood boiling!
I remember one particular episode when a punter turned her nose up at a beautiful home in the South of France, because 'it is too similar to our place in Portugal'
envy

Place in the Sun for sure! People with £80k who want two bedrooms, pool sea views, and then when the impossible is produced, turn it down because there will not be enough room for their entire extended family of 16 to visit for Christmas grin

Pot Noodles

Pink wafers with marshmallow
White chocolate buttons with 100s and 1000s stuck on top blush

Crappy magazines such as Take a Break, but just every now and then.

When I had my own business, I used to occasionally have an hour with Take a Break as I ate a Pot Noodle. The only thing I miss about having my own little office!!

Chestnut I've just started a BritBox subscription and was delighted to see that they have got the Hammer Horrors on there
In fact, they've got loads of goodies, including Sapphire & Steel!

grandMattie Sat 22-May-21 11:09:19

At the moment? I’m riveted by the “Property Brothers” on W! Total tosh, it enjoyable...

Chestnut Sat 22-May-21 11:03:36

Actually, the Hammer horror movies are all wonderful. The music is really scary, the blood is like red paint, and the fangs are long and sharp. They were such classics of gothic horror. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing played a variety of parts, good and bad, and were always so convincing. They were so naff but absolutely wonderful.

The crisp sandwich has to have salad cream on it too!!!

Ah, Chestnut you've just reminded me of Fantastic Voyage; where Donald Pleasence is shrunk and in order to save the President's (I think) life, is injected into his blood stream.
That's a cracker!

That's another of my naff favourites! Love it. I'm hoping to make the grandchildren fans of this movie too.

Seven Tears by The Goombay Dance Band

It's utterly sublime to me

I care not that people mock

I was a teen living in Spain when this came out

Just playing it now as I type.

I'm swaying

Any of the Real Housewives series.
The Dear Deirdre problem page .

No hope for me!?

I was just thinking about my much loved naffest movies!!
Island of Terror - wonderfully daft creatures that suck the bones out of your body. Peter Cushing trying to take them seriously. Absolutely love it!
Barbarella - watched it with my daughter and we laughed our socks off.
The Blob - Steve McQueen's first movie, a sci-fi horror where everyone tries to look scared by the 1950s special effects.

FannyCornforth Sat 22-May-21 10:31:28

I didn't mean to do a double ellipse hmm

FannyCornforth Sat 22-May-21 10:30:21

Aka 'Guilty Pleasures'

Hello Everyone! ?

Inspired by someone (who will remain nameless) who includes Pretty Woman in her list of all-time favourite films hmm

It can be anything: food; TV; books...

I'll get the crappy ball rolling with Super Noodles (chicken flavour); Celebrity Big Brother (RIP); and the Agatha Raisin books (complete and utter badly written drivel)
Oh, and I can't miss out The Daily Mail (subscription holder blush)

Come on, what are yours?

Thank you! smilethanks
