give over with fishing for compliments
Kim Afraid I'll have to!
I've done some researching, but can't find any reference to a fish species called "compliments", so it must be an extinct species, in these waters anyway! hmm
Although I did manage to hook a few piranhas recently, vicious, so chucked them back.! grin

I don't care what people think of me. At least Mozzies find me attractive
Good Health

Hi Rufus. Watched the Eurovision Song Contest, so pleased the show is back on, not because I’m a fan, but it makes me feel as though things are slowly getting back to normal. Last year it was unbelievably scaring when the Venice Carnival was cancelled first, followed by other major events, including the Olympics. We knew we were in serious trouble then. With most people now vaccinated, we can look forward to start living and travelling again. The weather is quite cold for end of May, even by UK standards, but warmer weather is forecasted. On this happy note I say bye for now. Take care x winewine

Rufus, I think you're well young enough to save so give over with fishing for compliments. Keep taking care.

Hi Rufus 2. Very cold and wet here. My main preoccupations have been setting up my new tablet and phone. What a palaver. A world of passwords! However it's done. That should be it for 2 years at least.
We've certainly been boosting the economy and eating our way round our old favourite restaurants.
I was wondering what had happened to the 'Good evening' threads so glad to see this one.
You're not much of a man for dramas I note. You obviously prefer documentaries or feats of civil engineering!

Hi Rufus, wondered where you were. Very kind of the City owner Sheikh? Offering to pay for fans to go to Portugal for the final on the club organised trip, not sure if Pep will want Harry either, you seem to be doing ok without him ? We’re off down the local soon, last day of the premiership season, all kicking off at 4, we’ve got some fans back in to games too, makes a difference. Raincoats will be worn as it’s still chilly at 12, little growth on the veg front, they’ve got wet, need warm. Things are opening up here, after weeks of doing ‘not much’, suddenly we are ‘doing something’, I actually have to consult the diary to check for conflicts. We’ve seen my son, big hug, daughter, big hug and grandchildren, bigger hugs and I’ve had both Pfizer jabs. Still social distancing, masks inside public places, lots of sanitiser and hand washing., but lovely to see people we’ve not seen for months.
Right, better sort some shoes, coat, money, mask, quick loo visit and off. Catch you soon, good to catch up.
Take care ?

Hello Rufus, agree with you about that Italian on the Eurovision song contest, it sounded hideous.
Miserable day here where I am weather wise. I have just got back home, and glad to be back.
Take care.

Hello Again; Been ever so busy lately, what with one thing and another!
Researched a new microwave on line; free delivery any day now; some organisations make life difficult; “Open an account; think up a strong password that nobody else has used”, all because I want to spend $20’ I got to the very end of one, hit “Pay Now” then it disappeared! No money extracted from my bank, so shopped elsewhere with no hassles.
Btw; microwave cost a bit more than that!
Also been trying to repair “Jokes” thread after damage caused by trolls and HQ. who apparently can’t remove evidence that a message has been deleted; so that anyone new on the scene wonders what’s been going on. The thread looks a mess and not a good advert. Yet a complete thread can be “taken down” in a flash! hmm

Life here hasn’t changed much. Lovely late Autumn weather; warm , sunny days, 18C Chilly mornings 6C No rain, but heavy dews.

A reminder that Covid has not gone away. Tomorrow will see the start of a 2 week blitz by police on public transport now that patronage is slowly increasing; a $200 fine for not wearing a mask.
What’s not increasing is the take-up rate of the first jab amongst the elderly.
A few days ago 33% weren’t interested because of blood clots then some medicos claimed that a better vaccine (Moderna, I think) would be available at the end of the year, so it was inevitable that some decided to hang on.
Nobody has asked me to say Yea or Nay yet. Too old to save I guess! sad

So; talk of Kane joining City saying he would love to play alongside Kevin!
I wonder what Pep thinks of that!?

Rob Bell presented another very interesting programme in his famous bridges series; this time the Severn bridge. It’s incredible what workers had to suffer during these engineering feats’’
An interesting diversion was provided by Rob and two others surfing upstream.
Apparently the record distance on one wave is over 9 miles! Awesome!

European Song Contest; Aussie entry was recorded a month ago because of Covid, but it never got far. The Italian entry wasn’t much chop in my opinion; noisy, tuneless; nothing like the good old days of 1974 when ABBA won with “Waterloo”

We travelled with Swiss railways up the Matterhorn last evening; a repeat but well worth it.
How are things with everything? I assume you all went out and splurged to boost the economy last Monday!?
Mellina, my present nurse, went up State with a friend to Bright, well known for its Autumn “fall’ of leaves.
In order to stimulate the economy in tourist areas, hit hard by the lack of visitors, the Govt. is giving out $200 vouchers for visitors, provided you also kick in $400 and stay a minimum of 2 days. Not a bad deal!
Oh well[ Monday tomorrow and another busy day searching the Internet trying to spend more of my pension that’s been piling up thanks to Covid. grin
Believe it or not, my Air Fryer, purchased a year ago, has been out of its box for a few days and I’ve already lost its instruction manual, complete with some recipes, but fear not, there are plenty on YouTube, some even with video; so what can go wrong?
Good Health wine wine wine
