Good morning from North Yorkshire. High cloud about but I think it will stay dry..at least till my hair appointment later.
Last day for the decorators today. Downstairs is just about finished so bedroom and en-suite to complete. There’s a bit of outdoor painting to do too as they found parts of the door surround rotten yesterday so replaced it.
Today’s plan includes lots of bits of jobs to leave everything okish before I head off to see my daughters for the weekend.
I’ll do the final bit of sorting when I am home next week.
I had my state pension application letter yesterday so logged on last night and claimed it. It was a very quick process so I hope it all gets sorted for September.
Hope the poorly people are feeling better. Thoughts too for all of you with poorly family members and other things that keep you awake at night and worried in the day.
Take care and stay safe.

Good Morning Friday
(68 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
I am up early , but its dry and bright outside here in Brackley .
My reason for being early , i need to catch a bus at 0645 in order to connect with another at Bicester to make an appointment at the JR in Oxford outpatients , its link with cardiac so expecting the treadmill .
As to returning after appointment will again depend on bus timings as I want to watch the Giro cycle race drama unfold in its last 3 days .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all. It's sunny in Polmont today which lifts my spirits. I'm working as a drama queen today so I'll have to get moving. Thank you for all the congratulations yesterday. They are very much appreciated. It's good to see you back Marydoll. Ashcombe some lovely photos. Mick I hope the tests go well. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from a cloudy S Hants, a rude awakening earlier, I stubbed my little toe on the ensuite door frame, ouch!
I have lamb to pickup up, curry to make and planting to be done. We had a lovely lunch in a beautiful pub garden yesterday, the weather was glorious.
Good luck with the hospital Mick. Susan ?for your SIL too and Harrigran with your DH meds.
Marydoll of course we care! Thanks for posting, Hoping Cherry has had a good night and grandmajet is recovering well.
Have a gentle day all.
Good morning from the Black country, no sunny morning here it's very cloudy. Yesterday was a nice though and the bedding dried lovely.
Had a lovely evening with our friends it was great to finally be together again.
Mick hope your appointment goes well will make a drink and catch up with everybody's happenings. Take care all and enjoy the day.
Good morning all and it seems lots of you are up early after a restless night. The light mornings wake me and I fidget for a while until I give in and get up.
Yesterday was glorious. We picked the right day to go to the Olympic Park with its lovely parkland and gardens. My two old school pals and I just wandered and chatted then lunched until 6 o’clock. Train home and Asleep in the armchair by 9. ?.?
This morning I unpacked my bag and can’t find the gift my friend gave me. A beautiful crystal! It was in a small box and I put it safely into my large bag. It definitely isn’t there! I’m so upset. I will phone the train company but hold out little hope. ?. How could I be so careless! ?
Today we will meet up with other old friends at a pub for lunch. The men in the group were all at school together, so there will be a lot of chat. Lovely !
Nice to hear from Marydoll . Hope you feel brighter soon.
Urms I know what you mean by escaping now and again and being ‘off the radar’, so to speak. Suddenly my diary is filling up again after so much peace and quiet with no demand on our time. Oh dear, I do sound selfish too. ?
Sar have a lovely day on the boat. Enjoy the peace .
Dwm I hope your ankle improves. ?
Mick I hope your early morning travel went well.
Wishing you all a good day whatever you are up to. ????
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers, northwest Lancashire coast. I’m off to the optician soon and it will be strange, no one has been so close to me for a long while. The Indian variant and possibility of a further delay is depressing.
Anyhoo will return some white trousers to M and S. my waistline has expanded through lockdown but I think I’m not the only one watching passers by stripped off in the sun on my day trip on Wednesday ?
Tried to not put much pressure on my wonky knee yesterday, so hopefully it’s on the mend.
Hope your connections work out Mick and thoughts to Marydoll , grandmajet, Cherry Auntieflo and anyone with troubles or worries.
Morning from cloudy S Lanarkshire. I’ve been wakened for around two hours, which is unusual for me, and I’ve just realised it’s Friday, not Saturday. A good start.
My garden room builder came yesterday with no bad news, so hopefully things will happen on that front in three weeks or so.
He did say that building materials, particularly timber are about to be in very short supply and therefore more expensive but he has already ordered the material for my job.
Weather forecast for this area isn’t wonderful for today but good for the rest of the weekend so hoping everyone has a pleasant few days, especially those who have been feeling poorly or down. ??
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and dry. Yesterday turned out a beautiful day, warm and sunny so I was very happy pottering in the garden.
I hope your hospital appointment goes well today Mick
Lovely pictures thank you Ash and what a lovely view from your bedroom window!
We’re away to Rothiemurchus this weekend, it’s just near Aviemore in the Cairngorms. Lots of walking in the mountains and picnics by the lochs I expect so I hope the weather stays good.
That’s a worry about your SiL susan hope he’s ok and hope you’re firmly back on your two feet soon dwm
It’s good to see you back marydoll but sorry you’ve had such a rough week.
Safe travels everyone, there’s so many outings and meet ups just now, what a difference to a few weeks ago and great to see.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Summer is here!!
A surveyor is coming to measure up for some outside work this morning.
We might be tempted to break no mow May #lazygran as it's grown bits that are knee high and it's now nice enough to sit out.
Sending love and
to all x
Good morning all. A bit overcast at the moment but hopefully sunshine later.
Yesterday’s weather was lovely and we got our planting done.
DD3 and SIL report no side effects from their jabs yesterday other than slightly sore arms so my nursing skills are not required today.
Will do our weekly local food shop this afternoon as we are out all day tomorrow , a bit of housework and a walk.
Good to hear from Marydoll.
Thoughts with all who are troubled in any way.
Hope you all find a ? today.
Good morning from Cheshire. I had a night like that toograndMattie - so annoying when you can't sleep. Best wishes to your SIL*Susan56*-we never stop worrying about adult children and family members. Pleased to know you still have your sense of humourMarydoll and will be writing again soon.
Will be back later to read more posts after a quick trip to Waitrose for bits and pieces.
Good morning Michael and all GNs from a rather indifferent South Yorkshire weatherwise. The sun has not got his hat on. Hope your appointment goes okay today, Mick.
We had a day out walking yesterday and lunch! In a pub! Today DH has an appointment with the dental hygienist, poor chap, and I have a curry to make for tomorrow when DS is joining us for an overnight stay.
Have a pleasant day, folks, and stay safe.
Morning Mick and all
I am posting and running, sorry folks The Imp is due any minute and I’ve overslept.
Keep safe and well folks ???
DH has just found my crystal ! It was tucked away in a pocket In my large bag. I checked that bag three times ?. I’m so relieved, I could cry. Lots of brownie points for DH. ?
Good morning Mick, and good luck with your appointment today. Morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s still looking a little grey outside.
The traffic yesterday wasn’t bad so we made good time driving to the capital and luckily the same on the return journey. DoutL had signed the four year old up for gymnastics classes for little ones but because the staff aren’t allowed to touch the children there has to be an adult who can help the child use the equipment so it’s a real Grandma hands on class for me. The warm up exercises did me good, I should really get back to Joe Wicks on YouTube. Photo taken outside the leisure centre.
Today is my swanky charity shop day, DH reminds me every week to be on the lookout for Ancient Greek artifacts - poor deluded man!
I’m sending my good wishes to everyone especially those who have been ill this week, I hope today is a peaceful one.
Good morning from the Scottish Borders where the sun is shining but there is still a chill in the air.
Ofcourse we need to see you Marydoll
I'm taking DMiL to the Highlands today. I am quite nervous but it has been a plan for a while.
Before that I must replenish stocks of tablet see Marydoll
. It is a major component of DMiL's diet.
I will try to pick up a wee gift for the bairns too.
Elder DGC, aged 6, was visibly disappointed when she looked at my toy store for the first time in a year as in her words it was baby things
Happy Friday everyone. Including Gillybob if you are around.
Yay Gingster! I ❤️ That Feeling when you find something precious that you’d thought was lost. Joyous.
?
Good morning, Mick and All from a damp grey Carlisle. Fortunately I managed to mow the back lawn yesterday. The grass was ankle deep in places.
Another one with a poorish nights sleep, vivid dreams, a headache and cricks in my neck as well as the usual need to put eye drops in at regular intervals! Therefore I was up a tad earlier than usual, just as well because my Tesco delivery is due shortly. It will be followed at some point by the BHF coming to collect some of my surplus stuff so there should be a bit more space in my over full garage. Sadly, they didn't want my rugs as they sell new ones. I've been in their furniture store and I think my secondhand ones are nicer! I shall have to do some freegling/freecycling.
Apart from that, no plans for the weekend except for some shrubs I need to get planted.
You do live in a lovely part of the world, Ashcombe, it's uplifting to be able to look at beautiful trees like that.
Good wishes for better days to all in poor health/spirits. It's concerning when people stop posting..we can't know how you are.
Happy bank holiday to all...
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from cloudy but dry Harrogate
Had a Lousy night last night, usually is when I’m prescribed prednisilone ?The price I pay for breathing!!
Looks like, at last I shall have to get my summer clothes down. There’s a rumour they might be needed!!!
What a shock Susan I hope your SIL recovers quickly.
Your pics are lovely Ashcombe could the tree be a sycamore? Just looking at the shape.
Thank you for popping in Marydoll hope you will feel better soon
I have my dgs tonight so posting could be impossible tomorrow. Decided I will take him on the bus tomorrow (a novelty) for him
Hope Oxford is good news Mick
Look after yourselves ?
It has been sunny and cold here in locked down Melbourne. Went for a walk in the local wildflower reserve and not a soul in sight. We are limited to 5 km ,just over 3 miles, outside our houses, masks on at all times. Hugging the fire drinking some merlot.
Great*Gingstet*, I can relate to your joyous relief! Happy for you?
Childcare day today 4yr old has only been here an hour room floor is covered with cars ,will fetch his sister from school at one they have been finishing at lunchtime since they went back, hard for some parents who work .Take care everyone ?
Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Grey here but hints of blue sky. Nothing planned bar small amounts of decluttering and a purge of my wardrobe. Wearing one of my Seasalt purchases which gives me a lift. Will try to finish Claire Fuller's Unsettled Ground. It is beautifully written. Off to do my exercises. Hoping the best of days possible to all.
Good Morning everyone, grey cool and damp here in Co Armagh
I have joined the ranks of recipients of strange PM s !
I hope Marydoll is feeling a bit more like herself soon xxx
