Good Morning Everyone ,
My trip to the JR to see a consultant went OK , and not what I thought it would be .
Apart the basic ECG and blood pressure by a nurse , the consultant, gave a chat as to fact that I have managed to maintain a steady heartbeat , and it was my surgery who made the appointment , an offer of doing an operation was there it would take an hour under local antistatic, but whilst I am able to keep a normal heartbeat , and not go to high its on hold .
The journey there was OK ,although an early start , I got back home just after 1pm .
Today, I plan to do Buckingham and Bicester , but have doubts as to buses because I never saw any X5 `s yesterday ,and this because they are Bedford based the service maybe effected by the Indian Variant which is high in Bedford .
But we will see how things to turn out , locally weatherise its dry and cloudy here in Brackley .
Take Care,
Mick

Good to hear your hospital visit went well Mick

We are off to Son No.4’a today, as its GD’s fourth birthday, it’s the first time that the youngest 3 AC and GC have been together for 18 months. She is having a Princess party Elsa from Frozen and another one will be arriving to entertain the little ones.

Good luck with the slow gin Maw

Good morning from Colchester, which has Colton wool clouds with small breaks of blue. It's already quite warm. 20 plus and dry is the forecast.
We are going to a family barbeque this afternoon so I'll dig out a summer dress.

We haven't broken No Mow May but our neighbour has. The pigeons prefer our long grass but the starlings like the new mown. I love watching the swathe of lawn in front of our new house.

Much love to all x

Had a enjoyable walk and lunch at a NT place in Devon yesterday.it was a bit showery but managed to stay mostly dry .
Hope marydoll and anyone else feeling under the weather or with troubles has a bettrr day ?

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently cloudy. I hope it burns off soon. Mick that's good news on your test results. It sounds like people have nice plans for today.
Yesterday was a day for assessing possible depute heads. As always, it was interesting how the same scenario can elicit such varied responses. One of the candidates was very good at that part but I'm sure they all have different strengths.
I'll visit ds in Stirling for a coffee after I've done a food shop. Then some housework so a quiet Saturday for me. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Sat 29-May-21 08:18:28

Good morning all from Glasgow, just popping in to wish you all a pleasant Saturday.
Part of the reason for not posting is that the dangerously low levels of Vit D and calcium in my system have made me very unwell. An intervention from the hospital yesterday, will hopefully help to improve things.
Instead of my daily intake of 800IU, I was sent 100,000 IU to take immediately. ( That's service for you!) Who would have thought a deficiency like that would be so dangerous, make me think I was having a stroke and be in so much pain?
This has happened in the past, but never as severe. Severe anxiety and irregular heartbeat is another symptom. I thought I was going mad on my way out!!! ⚰ Unfortunately, it consequently means no Alendronic Acid infusion for months. Its only eighteen months late anyway, so no point in stressing about it! ?
Lack of monitoring due to Covid is the culprit, I'm afraid!

Please listen to the advice on here, Mick, why put yourself unnecessarily at risk by travelling in a area with rising Covid numbers? Look what has happened in Glasgow, because people weren't vigilant. They are still in lockdown!

Perhaps avail yourself of the free, lateral flow, home test kits, available online, that way if you, yourself are unknowingly asymptomatic, you won't be infecting others. My DH and I test ourselves at least once weekly, as advised by the NHS, even if we haven't been out much. Its not pleasant, but it could save your life or someone else's. It sounds as if I'm preaching, but someone has to say it and I'm not afraid to do so. Sermon over. As my mother would say, I am a nippy sweetie this morning. ?

Wishing all our struggling friends a peaceful and as pain free day as possible.
Congratulations to BladeAnnie hoping you are having a wonderful honeymoon, full of memories to treasure. ?

Good morning everyone from an overcast east coast of Fife. Yesterday was a really beautifully sunny and warm afternoon continuing into early evening. It’s meant to be the same today again. grinThe garden is beginning to look very smart the flowers ready to blossom. Our overnight visitors will be arriving this afternoon - let the fun begin.

The whisky bottle will be cracked open this evening and the world will be put to rights independence (yes or no?) I’ll just butt in with religion that’ll put the cat among the pigeons wink

I’ve also got a care home visit to see my SI who’ll probably not recognise me it’s her birthday tomorrow hope she likes the lovely blouse I’ve bought her from M&S if not it can always be exchanged.

The staff will support me in my wheelchair during the visit it’ll be a strange one confused himself isn’t allowed in with me.

Have a lovely day everyone enjoy the good weather should you be fortunate enough to get any. Good times will soon be here again wonder what’s for dinner? Hope its the Steak pie bought from the butchers.

Morning all from a sunny and warm south coast. Lovely!

Late to the thread this morning as we have been for the click and collect, put it all away and just had breakfast.

DH is out with his bike club again this morning and will hopefully see DS who is on his training ride, on the south downs, at the coffee stop. DS is coming here late this afternoon for a shower and food. I am loving these regular visits.

News yesterday of DH's third, and hopefully final, operation came through. He is booked for a pre-op on 18 June but we don't know when the op will be and are not building up our hopes in case it is postponed like the last op was. It will be great if he can get it over and done with this summer and we can put this difficult past 12 months behind us.

Hope the day is a happy and sunny one for as many of us as possible. sunshine

Gingster Sat 29-May-21 08:41:03

Good morning all and it’s a bit grey here , as Sar has already told us. I’m glad you had a lovely day with your boat. Peace and tranquillity. Lovely!

Yesterday was warm and sunny, so we sat outside on the pub patio with our old pals. Toastie sandwiches and a bowl of delicious chips, a glass of beer. Couldn’t have been better! Simple pleasures.

I’m on the lookout for a second hand caravan, shepherds hut or summerhouse to put in our largish garden at our cottage by the sea. All the family want to visit together in august for a few days but we haven’t got room to comfortably sleep them all. They’re not keen on tents and don’t like to rough it ! ?.
Any thoughts?
Of course I’m battling with DH on the matter. He doesn’t want an ‘eyesore’ at the bottom of the garden. ?.

Today we must clear the guttering on the conservatory, - birds are taking their nesting materials there and the twigs and mud is continually falling and making a mess.

We won’t go far this weekend as the roads are so busy round here. It’s not worth travelling as you’re just in a traffic jam, so we will stay put until Tuesday when we will travel up to our cottage for a few weeks.

Wishing Mr Lin a very happy birthday. Join the 70’s club.!
Maw enjoy your sloe gin. ?

Wishing you all a pleasant bank holiday weekend, whatever you do. ♥️

Greyduster Sat 29-May-21 08:41:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is doing it’s best. DS is here this afternoon for an overnight stay. He is doing a course tomorrow at our local woodland study centre learning to make walking sticks. Curry for dinner after which I hope we will be able to sit in the garden with a drink.
Have a good day, folks.

Alygran Sat 29-May-21 08:49:30

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is just about sunny.
Decorating all done. I am really pleased with it. Must straighten up the bedroom then pack my bag for a few days with the family in Derbyshire.
I’m glad to get away after a difficult few days of house disruption, work outside to install gas for a neighbour and my Dad and best friend’s anniversaries. I’m feeling very battered.
Mary hope you feel better today.
Happy birthday to Mr Lins.
Mick pleased your appointment went well but do take care travelling on the busses.
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone. Take care and stay safe.

Good morning from Shropshire.

I have had a restless nights sleep. My mum pulled one of her stunts yesterday which left me feeling devastated. She isn’t going to change now and I will get over it but made me feel ill.My dad kept her in check when he was alive but I am no match for her.I have supported her since my dad died 27 years ago but feel drained by it today.

Anyway big girl pants on and will enjoy a weekend at home with DH hopefully spending time in the garden and enjoying fine wine and dining!

In happier news we have booked tickets for Johannesburg Radebe’s tour next year?

Son in law still in pain, he now has effective painkillers but no diagnosis still.

Mary, I am sorry you have been so unwell and hope the medication you got from the hospital yesterday soon has you feeling better.?

Cherry, hope all building work is complete and you have had a peaceful night.

Thank you to Mick and all the lovely posters on this thread where we can support each other.

Happy birthday to Mr Lins??hope he has a lovely day.

Thinking of all unwell, with worries and anxieties.

Have a good day all??

Good morning from S Hants, high cloud at the moment. Successful trip Mick good news. But Marydoll not so good for you, hopefully you’ll improve quickly with your mega doses.
Happy birthday MrLins and happy bottling Maw.
Went to the local last night and got a shock when a large Alsatian went for me, fortunately on a lead. I was cross afterwards, the owner ‘found it’ on a farm and had no idea of its history. I sat outside until they’d gone. An hour of chat with friends and I headed home leaving Mr J as I’d driven. We’ve friends coming this afternoon for curry, first people, apart from brief family Christmas, to see/sit in the new kitchen.
Have a lovely day everyone with trips out, visitors and thoughts with others in a different place x

All the recent talk of plane trees made me think of this one growing in our botanical gardens. I love the London planes and we don’t see them hereabouts.

Grandmajean Sat 29-May-21 09:11:05

Morning from Cheshire . Lazy this morning . BBQ at DS this afternoon if promised good weather arrives. Bit dull yet. Lovely picginny even though birds get me in a flap when they flap !! I do like to look at them in the garden. Your weekend sounds lovelybrook and 19 degrees is a hot day up there ! Will read page two later and see what everyone else is up to. A good Saturday to all.

Urmstongran Sat 29-May-21 09:12:46

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s warm and the sun is shining. Just had a FT from our excited smalls who are in an hotel in Lytham, a view of the beach too from their family bedroom. Excited doesn’t cover it! The boy wonder said ‘Guess what grandma?’ (love it) ‘mummy surprised us after school and nursery and guess what?’ (again!) ‘we are in Lytham! We had a disco last night and I’ve just had sausage, egg and beans for breakfast!’.
?❤️

My stepfather is coming over to eat with us this afternoon instead of tomorrow as we plan to head over to Lytham and join the family on the beach tomorrow. I shall make beef in ale (Delia’s foolproof) and mash.

I’ve never tasted sloe gin Maw but as I like Hendricks, Gordon’s, Tanqueray, Larios and Beefeater I don’t think I’d have a problem!

What a shock for you Marydoll. No wonder you felt so rotten and anxious this week. I hope you start to feel better soon. You take care Mick out and about.

Well, I’d best get a wriggle on and get the day up and running. Or at least ponder it awhile ...

Morning everyone. Lovely day yesterday with DD and DGD at the Gardener’s World Spring Fair at Beaulieu. Was so good to be outside (and warm!) at an event - not too big or crowded.
Spending a few days away on the south coast. Hope to persuade DH to go for a nice long walk, perhaps with a coffee or a beer at the end of it. We shall see....
Best wishes for a gentle day.

Grandmajean Sat 29-May-21 09:17:58

Wishing your son in law good news soon Susan
Happy birthday Mr. Lins

B9exchange Sat 29-May-21 09:19:31

Good morning everyone, that is good new Mick hope you continue to keep a good rhythm! Marydoll it sounds as though hope is on the horizon for you too. Happy Birthday to MrLins

Not a lot planned for today, will try and get some bedding plants in. DS is still in a lot of pain from his op, it seems very strange that no doctor came to see him afterwards, the nurses just told him to go when he felt like it (at 11.30 at night!) and he has no follow up appointment. He rang and asked if we can go and help out in Tuesday as Olive has a hearing check and he can't control a rampaging two year old unaided.

Wishing everyone a good weekend.

EkwaNimitee Sat 29-May-21 09:19:42

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a greyish but bright Carlisle where the sun is trying to come out. I'm hoping to plant out at least one of my shrubs and go for a stroll to investigate the country park which is allegedly only a 5 minutes walk away. It will make a change from sorting the house out. The BHF furniture van did come yesterday and my garage is looking clearer so I now have space to construct the shelving rack which is still in its box .
I put BBC iPlayer on to catch the Giro but found I could only get the commentary in Welsh which was so irritating I soon turned it off.
I love Muncaster Castle gardens, Gelisajams. I hope the sun is out and that the rhododendrons are still looking good on the Terrace. What a wonderful view it is from there.
Marydoll, you have been suffering horribly! I hope you've been sorted out now.
Everyone, have the best weekend possible, it's supposed to be warming up for us at last.

Urmstongran Sat 29-May-21 09:25:43

Sorry to hear your mum gave you an ear worm yesterday Susan that had your mind racing last night. I too hope your son in law gets a diagnosis soon. The ‘not knowing’ will cause anxiety on top of his pain I expect.

On a brighter note ‘Happy Birthday!’ to Mr.Lins.

As you can see, I’m still pondering. I can hear Himself chopping onions or carrots. I will assist soon. Ish.

EllanVannin Sat 29-May-21 09:28:16

Good Morning All x.
Dull and heavy so far so I wouldn't know what it was going to do. The smell in the air is lovely though, of blossoms and greenery like an almondy tinge, pure nectar.

The Ceanothus gets covered in bees and you can hear the shrub buzzing with life and the Bottlebrush "tree" will be bursting open next month with another lot of bees enjoying themselves.

Just a trip to the butcher's this morning for a joint for tomorrow. It's not far away so no transport involved. I've no idea what to get but lamb remains my favourite. Will it be Welsh ?

Good to learn that the heartbeat has stayed steady Mick, let's hope it stays that way.

How lovely to have a visit from the blackbird ginny at such close quarters. Considering I have cats, I've had one quite near here each morning singing his little heart out with both bird and cats unperturbed. He's here for about half an hour then off he goes replaced by the blue-tits twittering.

My word, a plane's just gone over ! Strange how I've missed them since the airport is only in the distance over the water.
Unless the sun decides to show itself I'll have to be doing something constructive indoors----like cleaning grin Mmm.

Lovely to hear that most are taking advantage of the now decent weather and managing to get out or in the garden but whatever everyone plans for the weekend, stay safe and take care. Thoughts to our poorly grans and also absent ones xx
Have a lovely few days everyone.

Stilllearning Sat 29-May-21 09:34:21

Morning from sunny S Lanarkshire, how nice to write that!
No great plans today but will enjoy the lovely weather. Sheets drying in the sun, I’m easily pleased!

Glad to see you back Marydoll, I hope your ‘emergency’ medication does the trick soon. Bad enough feeling unwell, I think anxiety is crushing.

Best wishes to everyone for a good day, especially those who have illness to contend with.
