Good Morning Everyone ,
My trip to the JR to see a consultant went OK , and not what I thought it would be .
Apart the basic ECG and blood pressure by a nurse , the consultant, gave a chat as to fact that I have managed to maintain a steady heartbeat , and it was my surgery who made the appointment , an offer of doing an operation was there it would take an hour under local antistatic, but whilst I am able to keep a normal heartbeat , and not go to high its on hold .
The journey there was OK ,although an early start , I got back home just after 1pm .
Today, I plan to do Buckingham and Bicester , but have doubts as to buses because I never saw any X5 `s yesterday ,and this because they are Bedford based the service maybe effected by the Indian Variant which is high in Bedford .
But we will see how things to turn out , locally weatherise its dry and cloudy here in Brackley .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a promising looking day in Torbay! I’m amazed that a fine Bank Holiday weekend looms but pleased for the holidaymakers and those in the hospitality trade hereabouts.

I’m glad your hospital trip was a positive experience, Mick, but please take good care of yourself, especially on public transport.

Thank you for the interest shown in my photos yesterday and the kind comments. (DH says I’m like a collie dog because I thrive on praise - don’t we all?!) I took a photo of the bark, grandMattie, which matches your description of a plane tree but I think the leaves suggest a beech.

Another day in which I shall be waiting for my friend in hospital to be released after knee surgery. She sounded downcast yesterday when she rang to say her blood test results had caused her to remain for another night.

I hope those with worries find some comfort and you all enjoy the weekend. ☀️??

grandMattie Sat 29-May-21 06:19:35

Good morning from a bright E Kent. Once the high cloud burns off , we should have some sunshine.☀️
Glad everything went well at the hospital yesterday, Mick, and good to know that the op is available if/when you need it!
Took my old friend out for a cuppa yesterday afternoon. It was the first time she left the Home since March 2020! She was exhausted.
Same old, same old today. Have a good day everyone. ???☀️??

grandMattie Sat 29-May-21 06:20:58

If the leaves match beech, then beech it is, Ash. The shape suggested it - but I’m not very good on identifying trees!

Ashcombe Sat 29-May-21 06:24:21

I included photos with my first post but they’ve failed to appear so I’ll try again!

Beechnut Sat 29-May-21 06:29:28

The leaves match me ?

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s cloudy and damp. I think I should have kept my mouth shut about buying a parasol.

I hope your happy with your hospital news Mick.

If the weather stays the same as it is now I shall do some sewing. If it dries up and no more rain forecast I shall get on with my painting outside.

Best wishes to you all and hope you have a lovely day ?

Ashcombe Sat 29-May-21 06:30:34

.....and again! I’ve reduced them in size each time but still no luck! This is the smallest resolution available so if this doesn’t work I shall sulk!!

Ashcombe Sat 29-May-21 06:32:04

The gremlins have it in for me and they’ve turned them through ninety degrees!!

grandMattie Sat 29-May-21 06:37:03

Defo beech! Well done Beech! ?

Scentia Sat 29-May-21 06:37:46

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks like a good day ahead.
Off to take DGS to his activity class in a while.
Yesterday DD and I took a trip out to an antiques centre in Heanor. It was amazing dnd do much more affordable than I expected. I will certainly go back when I have more money!
Take care my friends and enjoy your weekend.

brook2704 Sat 29-May-21 06:46:27

Oh my I’m awake early this morning so can join the early birds on here. I’m not much good with trees Ash but pleased GM and Beech have assisted!
It’s good that your appointment went well yesterday mick take care when out and about
We’re just outside Aviemore for the weekend in a little cabin on a campsite in the woods. Today’s forecast is great - warmish about 19 degrees and sunny so we’re going to pack a picnic and head out walking. There’s lots of trails around here so not sure where to yet .. DH has got a bit of a dodgy knee just now so it might not be that far today. Might have to leave him sitting on a bench minding the sandwiches ... ?
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning all from north Surrey. Overcast but a warm day is promised which is good news as we have a BBQ with friends this afternoon. We shall be arriving late as I have an eye clinic appointment. Requested by me as I am having intermittent blurry vision, maybe due to change in eye drops.
My foot is holding up, seems better if walking on it so will keep pottering.
Wishing all a good day/weekend, so much better for the improved weather.

Good morning all - it’s very still and slightly overcast here as yet but I am expecting the sun to come out soon
I am bottling sloe gin with my neighbour this morning. She and her husband picked the sloes last autumn and I provided the equipment, some of the gin and my (?) expertise as Paw and I used to make it every year. Partly due to not mixing indoors, we have resisted the temptation to bottle before now as the longer you leave it the better it gets. The sloes were particularly big and juicy last year so I an ??.
I’m glad your JR visit was uneventful Mick and I hope reassuring. If you don’t actively need the procedure for your AF it is best avoided as, apart from other things, it does not have a high success rate and actually diminishes with subsequent attempts. It was attempted more than once on Paw when in hospital in London at UCLH, eventually culminating in a Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion at the JR which would have been a significant game changer for him, but had to be abandoned mid-op when his breathing or blood pressure or something dropped alarmingly.
I think it would be wise to avoid the X5 buses these days, as you say, Bedford is a Covid “hot spot” these days and contact with it perhaps best avoided. Frustrating but sensible.
I hope everybody has a pleasant day and for those seeing family or up and about over the BH weekend- have a lovely time!

Good morning from a sunny NE.
My sister will bring my bread and newspapers this afternoon, other than it will be a quiet day.
DD and SIL were told this week that they can probably get their second vaccination in the UK. They had their first in Belgium but as they do not know when they will return to their home it is now becoming an issue.
Enjoy the improved weather.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is grey and cloudy, I'm hoping the sun will appear later.
We had a good few hours working on the boat yesterday. A few people taking their boats out once the tide had come in. It was lovely and peaceful and quite warm in the sun.
Today DH is off to do some more work and I will be changing the bed and doing some washing.
Enjoy your Saturday whatever you may be doing xx

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny S Welsh coast. Haven't posted for a few days as we had a few days away in Tewkesbury, the weather improved after a very wet journey up on Monday. It was lovely to visit the Abbey and walk by the river, balm for the soul.
It is Mr L's 70th birthday today and we are having a bbq later.
I'm off to catch up with everyone's news over the last few days.
Hope that Cherry, Susan, Marydoll and Auntieflo are ok, best wishes to everyone. Have a pleasant weekend and that the weather is kind to us all.

Morning Mick and All.

Warming up but cloudy day in South Bucks.

DS and 2 DGSs arrived last night for a 2 night stay over. The eldest said with a smile on his face ‘You don’t happen to have some crisps do you ?’ Knowing full well I have stocked the cupboard in anticipation of their visit.

They are allowed into us at 7.30 so better wake DH. ?

Have the best day you can.

cornergran Sat 29-May-21 07:19:47

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset. A dry and sunny day forecast.

Hope to finish our garden sorting this morning. One small bed to work through we’re done. I’m sad to remove so many plants but needs must for low maintenance.

Your hospital visit sounds reassuring mick, please be careful with the bus, best not to be taking unnecessary risks.

Hope everyone has the best Saturday they can.

GrannySomerset Sat 29-May-21 07:21:56

Awake early as we have a busy weekend in store. DS and partner and two teenage GC are here for lunch and a chance to catch up since last August. Tomorrow DD, husband and DGD1 come to stay, and on Monday we will all be here for lunch together outside. Overwhelming excitement and more catering than I have done in nearly a year so I am definitely nervous.

Hope all our posters have a good day and that Marydoll in particular feels better.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it’s fine and warm. It’s good to be back. However I’m driving
up to Cumbria for the day today visiting Muncaster Castle with my friend who is driving up from Yorkshire. We have postponed this trip for weeks because of forecast rain on the days she has off work but have decided we would go today rain or shine before summer is over. I have booked the tickets so hopefully it won’t be too busy. I’ve done enough mixing with lots of people this week already.
The cupboard is bare so I will leave a long shopping list with DH and he can cook a meal for our return! He likes cooking so it’s no real hardship. He will enjoy his empty. He will get the chance to play all his music louder than I can stand and I’m sure he’ll find some cricket to watch on his iPad.
Thinking of all below par this morning ? and for everyone out and about take care and stay safe ???

ginny Sat 29-May-21 07:32:47

Good morning all.

The photos are of Bunty Blackbird who joins us in the garden and waits each morning on the back doorstep for a sultana. If we are late she hops on to the kitchen windowsill to remind us she is there.

DD2 will be arriving later and we are booked in to a National Trust property, this afternoon and then for dinner at a nice pub/ restaurant.

Thoughts are with all who have worries and troubles but hope there will be some ?.

ginny Sat 29-May-21 07:34:06

There’s that grimace again, it should be a smile.

Good morning everyone from a rather grey Northampton, but hoping it brightens up later, as I need to cut the grass. Apart from that, no other plans for today. I need a new dressing gown as the zip has just broken on mine, so will have a hrowse. I want one with a zip, as the tie-belt ones make me look like a sack of potatoes!
I also need to change the duvet on the bed for a lighter one as I was so hot last night and didn't sleep well.

Glad yesterday went ok Mick, as others have said, take care on the buses.

Hope we all see the sun ? today.

Good morning all from bright Harrogate. Sleep hardly came last night - sharing a bed with one fidgety boy who at the moment has his head in my armpit!! How this small person can take up so much room beats me! I am crammed up against my bedside table. It’s a double bed. He wanted to sleep with DH because he has a bouncier bed (and bigger). But not wise, he is the proverbial grumpy old man. We’ll try to take him on the bus this am to go to M&S for a cuppa. I shall have to put a harness on him to stop him running ?‍♀️ around. Think I shall have a nap after he has been picked up.
Beech it is*Ashcombe*.
Have the best day you can folks!

Good morning from an overcast Black country. Glad your hospital visit was ok Mick.
Welcome back Lins and a happy birthday to Mr L. ?
Full English to cook soon our once a week treat.
If weather picks up will do some gardening. Meeting friends this evening at the local social club.

Thinking of those below par, may you all find some sunshine .
