I wanted our daughter to have my name as her middle name but my husband (now ex!!) said he'd "never liked it".

I took my daughter's first name from Greek mythology ( a very beautiful woman fond of ships

I think she rather liked Paris!
It's a classic name that never seems to date although I don't know many very young ones at the moment.

I think men do like a say in the name selection, I think the birth giver, which more often than not turns out to be a woman, strangely! Alexandra and Catherine were on my list, my husband was agreeable to both of those, the latter being one of my names, one of my mother's and my grandmother's first name. Not to be! we had boys twice! Well Alexandra was turned into a male variant. For number 2, I wanted Sebastian but my husband vetoed that, thought it was too wet for words, it was Brideshead that dunnit for him! visions of adult still attached to his teddy bear as if! Anyway came up with a name we both liked, thought it was original at the time, but at least several others in his year with the same name

What does it matter of Harry told his Grandmother years ago, he was going to name his first girl after her?
Since then he has trashed her and the rest of the family, all over the World.
Then has the damned cheek to name his daughter with her nickname.
I'm sorry but I find them both absolutely despicable.

If Harry were to turn up to the memorial ceremony and bring his little family ovet to meet the Queen, I think many might forgive all the other nonsense. I would.

I chose the names. I had a name that I wanted for my first daughter but when she was born she just didn't suit it. So 4th child got it. She didn't look like this name either but I had planned on it so it happened. She grew into her name. Children always do. My husband wanted a Charlotte but I said NO and that was that. Poor husband.

Jointly. ExH. Wanted some v Scottish sounding names as he is Scottish but we lived in England so we compromised. We liked Max as a name but surname is an M as well and it sounded odd.
Second son was supposed to be Rachel but hey! We used a similar sounding male name. But it was definitely a joint decision, surely it has to be ?

Before he met meghan he told the queen he would name a daughter after her...He may have meant Elizabeth though.....

Even if she was asked, how could she say no .... there would immediately have been a complaint to Oprah/Gayle/Scobie that they weren't even allowed to choose the name they wanted.

It was uplifting to see that the parents of Lilibet, are going to lead by example and take 20 weeks parental leave from what exactly? and I have no doubt such a move, inspired by the initiatives taken on Planet Harry and Meghan as described on the Archewell website, large magnanimous multi nationals, such as Amazon for example, will I imagine be gagging to follow suit and grant their workforce spousal leave as and when birthing people and their birthing spouses on zero hours contracts require it and no doubt they can be assured of .........er let me think, oh yes zero pay!

However if it is from Harry making incomprehensible woke speeches or launching diatribes against his family, there may yet be a silver lining.
