Good morning just
Using iPhone today as laptop is being diagnosed. Don’t find it as easy to do GN posts on mobile

Cornish Weather: cloudy but some blue sky. Breakfast was still outside
Didn’t get chance to read all of Wednesday’s posts and still gave today’s.

Good start to the day. Email to say say 3 £25 wins on premium bonds. smile

Knee a little easier last night. Mya is coping well with a slow walk. I’m so tired and good stomps are not on the cards at the moment

Take care everyone

Good Morning all from cloudy (but dry) Harrogate
I slept like the dea last night after an exhausting day with my DGS. I love that saying Marydoll like a 'box of frogs' because it describes him to a tee. I was at a children's farm with DD, DGD, DH and DGS, I did suggest I put a harness on DGS - not necessary replied the adults. DGS wait until it was just hm and I, then he shot off into the wooded area with me in hot pursuit. He wanted to climb beanstalks (trees) because he is Jack. DH eventually came to find us and assumed we were following him, right? Wrong? DGS was having a whale of a time with me trying to keep up with him and failing miserably. He eventually found a shed where he could throw beans (stones) out of the window. When we eventually caught up with the others, we decided it was lunch time (oh boy!! did I need a seat!)
DD decided we should go back to her home after ice cream. Which we did and had a welcome cuppa while the children played together. When we got home, we discovered DGS had been playing in DGD's mud kitchen, there was no alternative but to stick him in the bath! DD2 arrived to pick him up and he just wasn't ready, and I was shattered!!
Cherry that sounds a dreadful struggle with your hands
Hope your struggles are few and the sun will shine.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We had an hour of rain last night which has freshened the air here. We have a day to ourselves! No calls on our time. Especially welcome after our drive over to Bradford yesterday. Stepfather is off at noon round the corner from his to watch a bowls match (he does incredibly well at almost 90y doesn’t he?) and our little family are on their way to Chester Zoo for the day.

We think we might bob over to the Trafford Centre. I need to exchange two swimsuits for a larger size.
?
And I will have a small mooch ...

Enjoy today everyone. My friend lives in Bristol granMattie and since she moved I’ve really missed her. We plan a trip down there later in the year, hopefully. x

I realise my post gave the false impression that the live exhibit project was over - I’m on the bus to Brixham now for the final day.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest Lancashire coast. You will feel more comfortable today Mick, I don’t think we had time to acclimatise ourselves to the heat, it happened all at once.
Bit of paperwork, sister’s birthday card and I really need a pedicure if my feet are going to be exposed.
Taking some washing in from the back garden, a fox stood in the middle of the lawn, unbothered and just gazed back at me.
I really should food shop, but I’m trying to use up what I have in the freezer etc, rather than just piling more in.
Thoughts to the usual suspects Cherry harrigran Auntieflo Marydoll grandmajet grandMattie and anyone with troubles.
.

"My" donkey is called Zena Susan56 . I talk to dogs I pass in the street ! A couple of summers ago DH and I were passing a cafe and I started chatting to the owners ( and dogs ) sitting outside. DH told them ( owners ) he was my carer ! I moved on quickly.

Good Morning All x.
Dull and heavy and a bit rainy----well it would be since I did some watering yesterday then the heavens opened grin I was in and out filling containers so I must have done my 10,000 steps !

I'm expecting a call today after 3pm from a GP with a view to getting a prescription to cure the swollen feet. They're not so bad at present but as the day goes on they obviously swell up.
They've always had a tendency to do this during summer months so it's nothing new, even going back to the 70's.
( crumpets going straight to my feet grin ) I retain water.

I don't quite know what I'll be up to today. Ironing can wait for now it's mainly towels and tea towels so there's no hurry.
Pork chop and some little chats and cabbage later which won't take long to do.

There's a terrible surge of violence here in the nearby prom area, it's like the Wild West, disgusting and unnerving. All you hear on a daily basis are police/ ambulance sirens. Where are these monsters coming from ? A once decent area has now become a crime hotspot. Police need to step-up their game and rid the place of these subhumans---like to a Borstal !
A bad attack took place yesterday by a gang with " metal " bats, so there's more than one reason for not wanting to leave the house. It's shameful. ( moaning Minnie this morning )

It sounds to have been an interesting project Ashcombe and thoroughly enjoyed by all including yourself. Well done.

Go easy on your travels GM and you'll be fine.
Lovely pic of my past travels NannyJan. A lovely area.

Enjoy the continuing sun wherever you may be and take care of yourselves. I'll carry on reading posts and probably have another laugh at Marydoll's novellas---brilliant. What a spirit that woman's got !

Stay safe everyone and thoughts to our poorly and absent friends xx

Good morning everyone from the Scottish Borders. Cool but refreshing here. Making a list of cleaning jobs to be done in the house. Think that will be an incentive. Going to bake too. I do enjoy hearing others' plans and events. Just unpacked new cordless iron. Somewhat surprised to read in the instructions "the temperature of your iron is safe to use on all ironable fabrics"..It only has one temperature. There is no temperature dial. I know I am a Luddite but has everyone else one of these? Do they work? Only one way to find out. Have a good and safe day.

Gelisajams Thu 03-Jun-21 09:18:56

Good morning from a grey cool Morecambe Bay, much better than the heat of yesterday. I think I spent too long in the garden. It’s not that big but there always seems lots to do. My garden is often neglected as after a day gardening for others I really can’t bothered. I’m now down to maintaining just three others though, so mine is getting a bit more attention.
We seem to be having a run of sore hands and fingers! Hope they feel better soon.
Have done my exercises already but not sure what else is in store. I wonder if DH has any plans. I must ask him!
Take care and stay safe everyone ???

Happy birthday to little Miss Chatterbox Nannagarra ????

Grandmafrench Thu 03-Jun-21 09:11:19

Sounds like a smashing break for you, Grammaretto ?
Ouch, Cherry, I’ve just caught up. Please take more care !
So lovely to see you back, Shedlady Laura. Love your painted flowers and WHO could ever think your family weird with such fabulous names?! (Apart from most of us possibly?) ?
Alizarin same advice as Cherry - take care of all your fingers.
Grey hope your day is calmer today…and a lot cheaper!
Gingster what a little ray of sunshine you are about cold water swimming! ?
Hugs to Harri and hope and health to Auntieflo and grandmajet ???

Susan56 Thu 03-Jun-21 09:10:31

Grandmajean, we visited the donkey sanctuary in Sidmouth when our girls were children and adopted donkeys. We found the pictures when we were clearing out during lockdown along with an essay DD1 had written about the visit!

DGD saw the pictures and so we adopted her a donkey a couple of months ago.His name is Cisco I think?

Nannagarra Thu 03-Jun-21 09:08:34

Good morning from cloudy and cooler Sefton. I’m hoping the forecast is correct, that it remains dry as I’m meeting friends in a garden setting this afternoon.
It is Miss Chatterbox’s 5th birthday today. We have bought her a flamingo pink camera which has a touch screen, card, zoom facility - probably too complicated for me ? - and can seemingly roast dinners. That and a Quentin Blake book have been wrapped in The Tiger Who Came To Tea paper, a significant reminder of the performance we saw together. To take her to another show when we feel it is safer is very high on our bucket list.
Enjoy your time in Bristol grandMattie and your last day at the museum Ashcombe. Sorry to hear about your broken finger Alizarin. LauraNorder - do you have any other rellies for whom Out of, Postal and Standing might be relevant?
Thinking of Auntieflo, grandmajet, sheepandcattle, Bella’s, Cherry and Marydoll.
May you glimpse sunshine and a flamingo today.
?????

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining again after a heavy downpour yesterday evening.

We looked after H yesterday and put the lullabies on YouTube to get him to sleep, DH and I fell asleep and we all had a two hour nap!

In the afternoon DD and I went to Chester. She was really tired when it was time to come home so I had to drive her sporty, speedy car through Chester in the rush hour?lots of roadworks and diversions. It was fun on the motorway though?I could have done with a hoist to get me out when we got home!

Have a lovely time in Bristol mattie and hope the journey goes smoothly.

Ash, sounds like you have had a great time the last few days?

I hope you manage to find some help GrannySomerset?

Thinking of all our absent friends and all coping with illness, worries and caring for loved ones?

Have a good day all??

CherryCezzy Thu 03-Jun-21 08:57:56

Good morning all from a grey and breezy Gower.

Drat and double drat this morning, my whole left hand has flared up, so I'm typing with my gammy right hand?. It simply won't do, I've still got too much to do to ach up after all the work to the house there' still stuff cluttering up the upstairs bedrooms !

It's really tricky this typing withe the useless wrong hand so I'll just say that I hope everyone has a good day today, finds a random flamingo and a ? along the way ❤️

GrannySomerset Thu 03-Jun-21 08:56:54

Grey and still this morning but still warm which is a pity because I have a lot of bedding to iron after our busy weekend of visitors. I am absolutely exhausted but think this is really accumulated stress and will pass.

Both AC insist we need help (we do) and are undertaking some research to check out local providers. Any advice from expert GNers very welcome. I accept that in my 80th year I cannot do everything and DH’s physical needs and his increasingly irrational behaviour are hugely demanding.

Upside of having DD, DSiL and DD1 to stay has been some heavy duty gardening and the discovery of what a kind and patient young woman DGD1 has become - wonderful with her grandfather and a cheerful and positive presence. I am so impressed.

WI book group this afternoon if I feel a bit more energetic and feel DH could be left for a couple of hours.

Grammaretto Thu 03-Jun-21 08:51:49

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It looks like rain! What happened?
I am just home from my holiday in the Lake District where it was scorching and it has obviously been very warm here some shriveled lettuces but now it's back to to same old.
Ah well. It was lovely while it lasted.
It was wonderful seeing those DGC again although there was a fair bit of moaning at their parents from them, not from me. Nice to know they are normal teenagers. I don't remember ours even wanting to come on holiday with us and as for taking granny!
A wonderful pub lunch one day. The English really know how to do it and plenty of walking.
Enjoy your trip to the west country grandMattie

Have the best day you can everyone.

Sar53 Thu 03-Jun-21 08:37:41

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying to come out but there is a lot of cloud. Still warm though.
Supermarket first thing, once we are both dressed, then DH is going to the butchers.
I may go for a walk down by the sea this afternoon, it has been very busy this week as it's half term.
I hope you all have a pleasant Thursday xx

Stilllearning Thu 03-Jun-21 08:37:14

Morning from, as *baubles’ said a grey and wet S Lanarkshire. Supposed to improve later, we’ll see!

Lovely holiday pictures NannyJan, so nice to have a wee break.

Garden centre visit yesterday was successful and expensive!
My brother, who is in charge of my garden, assures me that since most purchases were perennials, it’ll be cheaper in the long run, I hope I have ‘a long run’!

In preparation for the construction of a garden room, a lot of rearranging is required, so I spent last evening ‘labouring’ in support and more planned for today.

I had planned a visit to a friend but that had to be cancelled anyway since her grandson who was with her at the weekend, is now isolating after a classmate has tested positive. A salutary reminder to maintain vigilance.

As always, thinking of those who are poorly or just not feeling up to posting and wishing everyone a good day ??

monk08 Thu 03-Jun-21 08:34:34

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Sun breaking through here in the Black country, washing on line so ironing later.
Meeting up with friends this evening for catch up a little bit of normality in these strange times. Safe journey granMattie and a pleasant day to everyone ?

Anniebach Thu 03-Jun-21 08:33:19

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmajean Thu 03-Jun-21 08:30:36

Dull in Cheshire this morning. Never mind, still warm.
Love Lyme Regis,NannyJan - we had a holiday there in 2019. Lovely old fashioned seaside town. Had a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth and "adopted" a donkey. There was no pressure at all and visiting the sanctuary was free. I am a sucker for animals.

Lins1066 Thu 03-Jun-21 08:29:50

Good morning all from a cloudy and much cooler S Welsh coast, no rain forecast though. We are off to DS's house later to water his pots and put the bins out ready for collection in the morning. DS and family are camping and sent lovely pics of their tent and a very excited five year old scampering around.
Hope Cherry had a good night.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day whether you have plans or not.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Jun-21 08:23:13

Good to hear from you Grandmafrench. My dignity has recovered, thank you. The chair and it's compadre has been put behind the shed til I brave a run to the dump.
