Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. High temperatures forecast for today, and I shall struggle to find shade in the garden. I may have to look for the garden umbrella.

Cut the back grass yesterday, as I feared it would be too hot today, so never got to hoover upstairs, never mind there's only me here to see it! Sat in the garden in the afternoon and finished my book which I thoroughly enjoyed. Was surprised to find that I'd ordered it on my Kindle five years ago, but have no recollection of it at all; I know I definitely hadn't read it before. Will start on another of DD's books today.

Thank you Urmston and GrandmaFrench for the kind comments yesterday; I too wondered what on earth happened to me last year. I was definitely not myself at all, but it seems a victim of Covid. A year I shall not want to remember.

Now to make a coffee and attack the Saturday crossword. Rugby on tv this afternoon, the last match of the season, and we are away to Bath. I plan on recording the match to watch this evening, as Saturday evening tv is normally rubbish. Enjoy the lovely sunshine everyone.

Good morning all,

The sun ☀️ is shining here in South Yorkshire now and the cloud is starting to thin out so it should be a nice day today. It looks less breezy, too.

Having a get together with a few of the family tomorrow so will be popping out later to collect some party food to offer them. It seems SO long since we were able to do anything like this, and the weather is set to be hot tomorrow so the plan to use the garden should go ahead, which I feel happier about. There won’t be a lot of us, but being outdoors will be better. We missed so many special birthdays last year, and there’s another one this weekend, so it will be a joint celebration.

To all on their travels, I do hope you are enjoying yourselves and to all feeling unwell, I send my best wishes that you soon start to feel better ?.

Take care everyone.

Glorious morning so am awake and ready to face the day, though not much is planned. DH wants to watch Trooping the Colour so we’ll do that before I do local shop. Otherwise not a lot in view.

The news is disappointing though unsurprising but at least we have no family plans for a big event like a wedding. I feel so sorry for those with arrangements thrown into disarray, and even more sorry for people whose businesses are affected.

Good morning all from cool and cloudy South Lanarkshire.

DDog had her op yesterday and was very sleepy all evening but did eat and drink a little when I brought it to her. She’s still in bed now so I’m about to go and get her up. Today will be a quiet one as she can’t be walked.

Hope it’s a peaceful day for everyone.

Thanks to Jax, morning all from what promises to be a beautiful day here West Yorks.Cat napped early evening then couldnt sleep at bedtime so up at 2.30 catch up on GN then returned to bed 4.30.I really must get back into a healthy routine.
ALIZARIN great for you to be home but take things slowly shame to spoil your uneventful recovery.
JAX you have my sympathy a dry crusty nose is like an itch you cannot reach.
Think I may make some apple sponge using up apples the DGCs have ignored, going for all the bananas/watermelon instead.
The G7 meet certainly causing chaos for those trying to continue with their lives as well as added Covid threats. We know a few having staycations down there instead of their usual cruising.Quiet day today just pottering.
Thoughts of those with illness and worry.

Gingster Sat 12-Jun-21 08:06:20

Sorry *Urms forgot to wish you a happy holiday. Safe journey.?

Good morning all from another beautiful morning on the Suffolk coast. Yesterday was breezy but such a warm wind. Today is calm and still.

Yesterday we had a long dog walk along the beach , then through a gladed woodland leading to a common and lastly across fields. The wild flowers are everywhere .
As we arrived back, our neighbour invited us in for afternoon tea followed by a couple of glasses of chilled rose. A lovely day.

Another DH here will get the papers (our weekly treat) and a crusty baguette for brekkie.

I have given an old woodburner a coat of Hammerite as it was just sitting in the garden getting rusty . It looks good now and I e put a pot of geraniums on top to dangle over the sides. It’s made a nice feature as it’s so heavy , we will never be able to move it.

Ash and Mary have a lovely few days away. It’s so good to have a change of scene.

Gwen enjoy your time with your DS.

Alizirin keep doing the excercises. Onwards and upwards. My mum and my good friend didn’t bother with theirs and both walk very badly as a consequence. I’m sure you will be a good girl ?

Jax. My nose is running with the thought of you not being able to blow yours ?. How frustrating!

Wishing you all a relaxed and pleasant day. Love and best wishes to all the poorly folk. ?

Nannytopsy Sat 12-Jun-21 08:03:26

Good Morning and thanks Jax! Hazy blue sky and sunshine in Suffolk. We are all awake early, even the cat! “Come on Grandpa! I’m hungry!” was our wake up call.
They think Nanny doesn’t know how to cook potato waffles, baked beans and grated cheese and I don’t intend to let on! ?
We have lots of plant pots, cells, trays etc so this morning I shall get the smalls sorting pots out. Counting, sorting, bigger, smaller - spot my inner KS1 teacher!
I hope everyone who meets friends and family this weekend has a great time and that the poorly and the carers have the best days they can.
?

Good morning from sunny Colchester. No plans this weekend. DH isn't happy as he'd planned to go fishing but the lake has been closed for spawning.
We ordered our new bathroom yesterday and are now considerably poorer.
Much love to all x

dragonfly46 Sat 12-Jun-21 07:46:50

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Walking into town with a friend this morning for a coffee.
Had a long chat with DD last night. We were laughing about a friend of hers who constantly falls out with her daughter of 18 - friend is a Gemini like me and DD a Scorpio like my DD. We used to be just the same but not any more!

I too wonder how Cherry is and others who are absent. I hope Mary is enjoying her break.

monk08 Sat 12-Jun-21 07:44:01

Thanx JaxJacky and good morning everybody from a sunny Black country.
Have only skimmed through will catch up with everyone's news later, but I notice Beechnut you've been watching a heron and snap so have I. We get them flying over normally but this was in the neighbours fir then went onto their roof and the magpies were playing it up. Ash & Marydoll enjoy your time away.
Need to go and look for a new microwave today mine packed up yesterday.
Have a good day and may you all find some ?

Good morning from another lovely sunny start to the day from the east coast of Fife. That’s himself saying theirs little or no food left in the cupboard he’s off to do a food shopping before the shops get too busy. For a man who would never food shop I’ve got to take my hat off to him errrrr that’s if I wore a hat. What’s he up to? He’s not too kean to take me with him it’s a bit of a nuisance trying to clip a supermarket trolley on to my wheelchair, and there’s me adding extra stress to the experience by saying hold it!as he whizzes by the shelves.

Not to mind as long as he brings me my favourite sweet chocolate yogurt and brown crusty oatmeal bread.

Have a great Saturday all you lovely people, be kind to yourselves and others less fortunate it won’t take much just a smile does it smile

Sar53 Sat 12-Jun-21 07:40:21

Good morning from another sunny day in Leamington.
DD1 and I had a mammoth shopping trip to Birmingham yesterday, a very busy town. We did have a lovely Lebanese meal before catching the train home.
This morning I'm watching DGD2 play her last football game of the season and this afternoon I'm taking DGD1 shopping. This evening I'm looking after the girls whilst DD2 and SIL go out for the evening, the first time in months. Another busy day.
Have a pleasant Saturday everyone xx

Susan56 Sat 12-Jun-21 07:33:00

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

Had planned a day at home today but DD has asked me to go shopping with her to try and find an outfit for H to wear to his Christening in a few weeks time. Both DGS’s were meant to be getting Christened just as the first lockdown started.B is now 3 and H 20 months so not the family Christening gown is far too small for them both!

DH is going to stay at home and work in the garden.

Thinking of my dear friend Cherry?

Thoughts to all unwell, recovering, worried or anxious and of course our missing posters.

Have a good day all??

brook2704 Sat 12-Jun-21 07:31:11

Thanks Jax
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s light grey cloud and warm
Pleased you’re home Alizarin and take it easy
Today we’ve not got anything planned so will potter about in the garden and see what the day brings
How lovely to be watching the heron beechnut, when we first moved into this house we inherited a garden pond with fish but the local heron soon ate them all even after we’d tried lots of various things to protect them. We’ve still got the pond now but minus the fish, only the occasional newt, frog and dragonfly
Oooh DH has just appeared with my cup of tea ?
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 12-Jun-21 07:27:58

Good morning all from bright Harrogate. Thanks Jaxjacky for starting us off!
Today I shall do some baking. I usually make 3 fruit ? ? ? crumbles - 1 to eat and 2 to freeze. Next Thursday my sister is travelling up from Surrey to stay for a break. Our 1st meeting since her DH’s funeral in December 2020. While she is here, we’ll be taking her up to Melrose in the borders for a wee holiday.
Basically I have one house to clean and tidy between now and then!!
Hope to pop in and read all about what you have been up to later
Meantime have the best day possible.

ginny Sat 12-Jun-21 07:20:28

A bright Good Morning to you all.
Today we will be discovering Ely.
Museum visit booked and will also see Oliver Cromwells house. Have a wander around the market and a mooch in a good antique shop.
Dinner out this evening.
Wishing all a pleasant weekend and healing thoughts to those who need them. Hope there are some smiles along the way.

Dwmxwg Sat 12-Jun-21 07:16:18

Good morning from sunny north Surrey, in for a hot one today so will get the watering and dog walk done early.
Hope Grammarretto got the gas leak problem sorted pronto yesterday
Ash and Marydoll enjoy your weekends away.
The door men arrived before DGSs left for school, they were enthralled to see the old door being taken out.
The new patio door was replaced in 2 1/2 hours, friendly and tidy and they have put an extra seal strip indoors so no touch up decorating is needed. We haven’t opened yet as we’re advised to allow the sealant to dry thoroughly.
Message from sister to say her GS (age 18) has Covid and is feeling pretty rough. She had given him a lift earlier in the week so she and H have had PCR tests done and are isolating. I will need to take over the shopping for parents as that is usually her domain so another visit to mum and dad today.
Good news from other sister that her DD’s fiancé has passed his finals, so we will have 2 doctors in the family.
Had a lovely afternoon collecting DGD1 from nursery and then stayed for water play in the garden, tea, bath, stories and bedtime for the girls. It makes me so proud to watch my DS with them, he is a very hands on daddy.
We had our first produce of the season from the allotment for dinner last night, new potatoes, broad beans (my favourite) and a handful of strawberries, wonderful.
Some ironing and gardening on the agenda for today.
Wishing all a lovely weekend

cornergran Sat 12-Jun-21 07:15:47

Morning All from a bright corner of Somerset.

Routine tasks more or less accomplished yesterday we’re off to help one of ours sort an out of control garden. Some gentle weeding of raised beds and lots of chatting with grandchildren for me. A BBQ is promised later, looking forward to it all. With luck we’ll leave here early enough to avoid traffic queues.

Have the best day possible everyone, take care.

harrigran Sat 12-Jun-21 07:07:15

Good morning from a cooler NE.
Yesterday was mild but very windy so no sitting in the garden.
DH seems to be seeing some benefit from the antibiotics and had a little lunch.
My sister will call this afternoon and bring me some bread.
Enjoy your weekend activities.

Blossoming Sat 12-Jun-21 07:03:15

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire where the birds are singing and the sky is blue.

It must be good to be home Alizarin hope there’s not too much post-op pain. Try not to overdo it.

Hope you have a great weekend Ashcombe despite the disruption. Mind those knees Beechnut, mine object to being kneeled on.

Sewing is in the offing for me to GrandMattie though not as skilful as yours.

Happy Saturday and comfort to all who need it ?

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Jun-21 06:52:08

Good morning all from sunny with wispy cloud S Hants. I had one nostril cauterised yesterday, there’s some spotting this morning, all I want to do is blow it, not allowed!
Garden pottering today, weeding, watering later and the allotment too. Football to watch later; shame Nadal was knocked out in the tennis. When MrJ is up he’ll nip out and get my paper, Saturday treat.
Enjoy your Saturday all those who can, hoping MrHarri is improved. Be good to hear from those absent. ????.

grandMattie Sat 12-Jun-21 06:45:57

Rats! GOOD morning...
And thanks for starting, Jax.

grandMattie Sat 12-Jun-21 06:45:12

God morning from a bright, sticky E Kent.
Doing nothing today, probs some sewing make Iris’ summer trousers.
Stay safe. Catch a flamingo or two. ???☀️??

Gagagran Sat 12-Jun-21 06:43:13

Morning all from a sunny south coat with another nice day forecast.

We are off to get the click and collect shortly, when DH makes it out of bed. He was tired last night after a long bike outing with his club. It feels mean waking him up but we have a timed pick up and he provides the muscle for the packing and unloading!

Today we have nothing on the agenda but DD might call in and things do seem to keep turning up.

Glad you are home and your plants were there to welcome you back Alizarin. Hope you are soon fully mobile again.

Kindest thoughts to all our GNs who have troubles to bear. Just hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine
