I’ve had various surgeries over the years to remove them. More recently, so last ten years, I’ve had injections. All have been very worthwhile. The only downside is having to wear support stockings for six weeks afterwards, so always have treatment between Christmas and March.
The NHS no longer treat them, unless they’re a danger to life. I paid £250 in February 2018, for the injections, which are all I need now.
I’ve always been pleased with results. It’s worth talking to your GP, and wearing support as much as you can. If it’s just your ankle/s you may get away with just socks.
