Good Morning Everyone,
Today ,as started with a grey and wet morning here in Brackley .
My plans after some housework , will be to get the bus to Bicester for my usual hour there ,have a coffee and a snack as well , hopefully bump into former work colleagues, then return home to relax in the afternoon.
The cemetery trip yesterday , with the weather just lately has seen me clearing weeds between the 2 family graves , with more work later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton. I have a load of washing in, and the mattress topper is in the tumble dryer before it goes out to finish off in the fresh air.

Cut the back grass yesterday morning, and finished my book in the afternoon. On to the next one! I am reading a series based around the Trojan war: Stephen Fry's Troy; A Thousand Ships and The Silence of the Girls, (different authors). Just fascinated with the stories of Ancient Greece.

I too put the heating on last night, it was decidedly chilly here!

Adding to the Sainsbury's order today, then will put fresh bedding on my bed and tidy/clean the bedroom and bathrooms. Then a health walk after lunch.

We have garden waste bins here too, and our council charges us an annual fee - I have to have two bins as my garden is very latge, so double cost for me. But worth it, as I have no transport to get to the tip.

Been waiting for the results of a lateral flow test as I write this, thankfully negative. Since I've started going out and about I've been doing two each week, just in case. Peace of mind.

Hope we all find a bit of sunshine today.

Grandmajean could we be in the same LA? wink

Blossoming, I would be interested to hear what you have bought. We have bought Hondas for the last twenty years and Mr MDoll is thinking a buying a new car. However, the dealership has been taken over by a new comapny and the service is apalling and he may change makes!
This is the dealership who refused to help DD, when she was stranded in Orkney with a new car, bought from them. ?

Good news Sar

Blossoming Tue 22-Jun-21 09:04:33

Marydoll I’m so sorry you haven’t been able to hug Dollie, your love for her shines through your writing. I’m sure it won’t be much longer now until you can be together properly flowers

monk08 Tue 22-Jun-21 09:03:39

amserlin as NannyJan has said it's an area in the West Midlands. If you are in the area they have the Black country museum which covers the history of the area. Although the name is not very appealing we have some glorious countryside with lovely walks available.

Grandmabatty Tue 22-Jun-21 08:59:29

Good news Sar

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. My sparrow family are up early today but they’ll have to wait until Mr. B gets back from shopping for their breakfast. We are picking up the new car on Thursday, at the moment my bank account looks incredibly wealthy, but it’s about to disappear into Mr. Honda’s pockets! As Father Ted would say, it’s just resting in my account. I shall get on with the washing now, will pop back and read all your news later. Hope everyone has as good a Tuesday as possible ?

Grandmajean Tue 22-Jun-21 08:58:04

WelcomeMaggie
Marydoll we are going to be charged £40.00 per year soon for collection of garden waste. Everyone up in arms as the council sent out a "survey" with questions specially chosen so that you couldn't voice your opinion ! They must think we are daft !
Have a lovel meet up Elizabeth
Glad I wasn't the only one with the heating on last night !
It was like November here.

dragonfly46 Tue 22-Jun-21 08:56:48

Good news Sar!
Our brown bin costs £40 a year and is emptied every fortnight.

ginny Tue 22-Jun-21 08:55:48

Good morning.
It seems to be brightening up here in N. Bucks. Let’s hope it lasts. I too was so cold last evening I had to put my crochet blankets to good use.

3 of my DDs colleagues have now tested positive for Covid. She feels fine and has another test tomorrow so fingers crossed.

I have a zoom meeting later this morning . Picked rhubarb from MILs garden so need to make pastry for a pie.

If any one can smell ‘deep heat’ sorry , it’s me. Hoping it will help my back.

Not sure what the rest of the day will bring but wish you all a smile along the way.

Grandmajean Tue 22-Jun-21 08:48:23

Good morning ! Not read posts yet. Have spotted some lovely pics, though , while scrolling.
Will come back and read later.
Best day possible to all.

Good morning,

It’s a bright, breezy and cool morning here in South Yorkshire, but the forecast says it will become a little warmer. I hope so, the heating kicked in this morning.

A waiting in for tradespeople today, so will potter about whilst I wait...

Hope today is a good one for you all.

NannyJan53 Tue 22-Jun-21 08:45:39

Jaxjacky Bude has a lovely sandy beach. Most of the surrounding beaches are pebbly, but there are lovely walks, and gorgeous coastlines.

amserlin The Black Country is an area in the West Midlands, covering Dudley, Tipton, Wolverhampton and Walsall. The name is generally considered to be because of its industrial past. I live in Stourbridge which is part of Dudly Borough.

Welcome to Maggie I hope you enjoy getting to know all the lovely people who post on here.

Alygran Tue 22-Jun-21 08:43:23

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s sunny but not very warm yet.
It was a long journey home yesterday from South London. It took ages to get to the tunnel and a bit stop start on the A1. I saw the O2 for the first time! The trip was lovely. I didn’t realise there were so many parks in the area.
I have some washing on, need to pop out for some food then my much postponed lunch with some friends. This was originally planned for last summer!
Good to hear of negative tests. Keep them coming!
Hope all the appointments go well, leaks are easily sorted and the weather stays fine for visits and meet ups.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

A quick update, my granddaughter has tested negative, thank goodness, although still very unwell. At least the younger two can return to school this morning.

Good morning from Colchester where the sun is trying to peep out from behind the clouds.
The patio man has optimistically taken down his gazebo and is unpacking slabs....looking promising??
I am back as a charity shop volunteer today. The shop reopened yesterday with a new manager. We are competing to be as swanky as Baubles' shop and sell only good quality clothing. I have to donate my cast offs elsewhere grin
Love to all x

Anniebach Tue 22-Jun-21 08:37:23

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick and all from cooler (21° instead of 33°) Lüneburg. We had some lovely rain. The sun has just come out and a lot of gardening is waiting for me. Sars I hope your GD`s test is negative. Monk08 I would love to know where the "Black country" is. Welcome Maggie Tulliver on this friendly thread. I do enjoy all the pictures you post. The world is so beautiful. My future plan (or more wish) is to travel around the coast of Britain. - Whenever I can get to Britain. I am taking the dog for a walk today, I think it is cool enough for her, then ironing and garden work. Mary so good that Dollie has tested negative.
Have a good day all.

Georgesgran Tue 22-Jun-21 08:28:10

Good morning from Durham. Blue sky and sunny here. Unfortunately I’ve woken with a Summer cold - didn’t see that coming! Feeling a bit rough, but last minute change of plans, so looking after DGS as his Daddy has been called into work. I’ve postponed meeting my friend until Friday.
Must shake a leg. Hope everyone has the best day they can. X

Alizarin Tue 22-Jun-21 08:27:09

Morning from a sunny south Cornwall. So I wasn't the only one with the heating on for an hour last night, and that's this far south. Welcome Maggie, enjoy!

I pay £25 a year for a square brown bag for my patio trimmings, and it holds a surprising amount. Collected fortnightly. I've nowhere to store a big bin.

Today, the town centre market, library, a cafe and maybe another bus ride, though I spent too much in M&S at the end of yesterday's jaunt!! Like being let out to play. smile

Have the best day possible everyone.

Elizabeth1 Tue 22-Jun-21 08:25:37

Morning all from a very bright start to the day here on the east coast of Fife and today’s meant to be warmer than yesterday fingers crossed.

thank you Marydoll for your best wishes for today’s lunch date in the beautiful town of St. Andrews.

I’ll be meeting up with a potential stranger who’s agreed to wear a certain colour of clothing and not a red rose ? for recognition.

So funny when I recall my earlier days of meeting strangers trying to identify who’s who. I even met up with a new Gransnet in Tenerife who thought I was from England and I thought she was from Scotland eh how did that happen?

We both got our wires crossed we used to meet up every year after that and it was a regular lunch meet up in sunny Tenerife. How to keep friendships kindled she was very kind to me when I was in hospital by sending me photos of her beautiful English country garden to cheer me up smile

Greyduster Tue 22-Jun-21 08:16:31

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. We have some shopping to do this morning and this afternoon someone is coming to measure up for a new stair and landing carpet. We chose a few samples in the shop, so he’ll base the cost on those. We may have to lie down in a dark room after he’s gone!
Have a good day, folks, and stay safe.

harrigran Tue 22-Jun-21 08:14:54

Good morning from a sunny NE.
DH has a face to face appointment with the Oncologist today, thank goodness. I was not comfortable with telephone appointments. DH has lost 20 kilos and is very frail and nobody was registering the fact.
BIL will drive him in our car as they have to go to the next city.
Yesterday I went out and cleaned the windows of the car as the dust was thick and we feared the windscreen would scratch if the wipers were used.
BIL is bringing me some more plants for my patio, I think it is to make me go out into the garden every day to tend them.
Take care, covid is still rearing it's head, our favourite restaurant is closed yet again due to infection.

Susan56 Tue 22-Jun-21 08:11:02

Welcome Maggie??

Susan56 Tue 22-Jun-21 08:10:26

Good morning from sunny Staffordshire.

We are looking after DGS today but won’t be going far as he has been suffering with hay fever and is feeling a bit tired and sorry for himself?saying that he is out in the garden already digging for treasure with grandpa.

Good news that Dollie tested negative Mary.I’m sure you will get hugs soon.x

Sending love to Cherry.

Look after yourselves everyone and have the best day you can??
