Good morning all from a beautiful bright and sunny Anglesey. Thanks for sharing DustyAngel, yes it has finally arrived.
I shall be in the garden all day in my shorts, topping up my brown legs and making the best of it.
Happy birthday ? to Mr Marydoll, the world’s second most frustrating husband. Orlin has the gold medal on that score.
Hope your brother is not suffering too much Kitty and that don’t me answers are forthcoming soon.
Hope today is better for you GrannySomerset.
Your little party sounds wonderful Cornergran, just the ticket.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

kittylester Sun 27-Jun-21 08:33:00

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

Not a lot planned for today which, of course doesn't mean nothing will happen!!

Thank you for your good wishes for my brother. The doctors still havent traced the source of the infection but he is seeming a little better and moaning that the nurses won't let him go to the loo on his own. As if he could!! If progress continues, he needs to get some physio quickly as he has had no rehab for 2 weeks.

Sending love to everyone with worries of their own worries and thank you again for thinking of us.

Good morning all from Welwyn, Herts where it's cloudy but dry at the moment.
Yesterday we celebrated the marriage of our DS2 after many cancellations and changes of dates. It was a lovely day and all went well, except our new DIL's family could not attend from abroad but thanks to technology they were able to watch virtually.
Today a good walk is on the cards to recover from all the extra calories taken.
Wishing all a pleasant and happy Sunday whatever you are doing.

Nannytopsy Sun 27-Jun-21 08:28:35

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Its cloudy and breezy in Suffolk this morning. We have had two granddogs overnight so we’re awake earlier than usual. They have been pretty good, apart from a bit of barking at bedtime. They not allowed upstairs at their house but they soon made themselves at home here on my bed!
What exciting sport yesterday! Tumbles in the TdF, injuries to the Lions and such an exciting rugby final! And then there was Wales …
I hope GrannySomerset has a better start to the day and there is better news for Kitty & Susan.
Marydoll I would be in the dock alongside you if my DH refused to wear his hearing aids!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Pittcity Sun 27-Jun-21 08:27:06

Good morning from rainy Colchester. Very different to yesterday when we got through half a bottle of suncream while sitting out at a local vineyard with family.

A quiet Sunday here. I will pop to Aldi for ingredients for a roast dinner.

Love to all x

Good morning Mick and all from a damp S Hants, it hurled down with rain at 4:30am, drying now with a warm wind, but we are on a weather warning until Tuesday for rain. I did some digging at the allotment yesterday, me v couch grass, I fear it’s winning. We watched the early football game, sorry Wales.
GrannySomerset I really hope you’ve had a calmer night, what a difficult situation for you both. And kitty hopefully a diagnosis will be forthcoming for your DB.
Today’s weather means an indoor day, if I can summon the energy I’ll clean the bathrooms, there’s yesterday’s crossword to continue and I’m sure something on the moving box to watch.
If you’re reading this cherry hope all’s as well as it can be. Missing still grandmajet, EV and Urmstongran. As always Auntieflo in my thoughts too.
muse may your long awaited visitors arrive today ??.
Sunday ?to you all.

Lins1066 Sun 27-Jun-21 08:10:59

Good morning Mick and all from a dry S Welsh coast, heavy rain is forecast this afternoon.
Happy birthday Mr Marydoll ??
A walk this morning and little else today.
I hope you have a better time today Grannysomerset, thinking of you.
Wishing everyone a pleasant and peaceful Sunday.

Good morning all and it’s grey here in Essex. I do hope Nephew and wife have decent weather while they stay in our cottage by the sea. They arrived yesterday to beautiful sunshine - it does make such a difference.

Yesterday , the washing line broke , just as the last bit of washing was pegged on. ?. Dh bought a new one and had it up in a jiffy. It’s a bit droopy so It may have to be tightened .

I started a new book (thanks to Sars recommendation,) and sat in the conservatory reading for most of the afternoon. Lovely! DH was lethargic yesterday and it was hard to get him motivated. He’s better when we’re in Suffolk - there’s always a job that needs doing there.

I’m nearly finished the baby blanket that I’m crocheting for my lovely girl (I was her stand-in) mum . She’s expecting in September and wanted a brightly coloured blanket to contrast with the cream nursery they are planning. Just some sewing up and then I’ll back it with fleece. I’ll put a pic on when it’s finished.

DS1 picks up a new car today , so they’ll be along to show it off. ?.

Ash I’m glad your lunch was delicious. That plaice with lemon has made my mouth water ?. I’m sure the congregation will enjoy your piano playing. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be there . ⛪️.

Granny Somerset - hope you have a better day ?

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday. ?

Good morning everyone from a very bright east coast of Fife. I had a brilliant sleep last night only up once for a pit stop. That’s himself up sounding quite cheery perhaps it’ll last all day, fingers crossed, at least his hay fever cough seems to have settled.

We’re off to church this morning here’s hoping there’s room for us as we were all at sixes and sevens yesterday after a lovely coffee and cake morning in st Andrews, we forgot to book in. There’s not usually that many in church at the best of times so here’s hoping. I loved hearing the birds, especially the seagulls and the sound of church bells all so seaside like. It felt like we were in holiday mode sitting outside people watching with all these sounds going on around us

We’re now on first name terms with all the staff who are so welcoming, their restaurant cake is scrumptious I nearly couldn’t finish it all off.. but I did in the end. That’s my ds learning to cook at long last, the dinner of garlic chicken last night was very tasty and cooked all the way through roastchickenfor a change. What’s for dinner tonight I wonder?
Have a lovely Sunday everyone. Be kind to yourselves lots of love and hugs. flowers

Dwmxwg Sun 27-Jun-21 07:56:02

Good morning all from north Surrey. A few spit spots of rain in the air.
The memorial event for DH’s sister was well attended, with all bringing their picnics and the weather was perfect. It is a beautiful setting in a hamlet which is set in a valley. She is now duly scattered in the place which she chose.
When we got home I had a lovely, long street walk with the dog whilst DH watched Wales lose in the footie.
This morning I am at DD’s home looking after the boys as she is on an early. Will take them home later and DH will need to take over as I am working a late (unless I get cancelled).
Kitty I hope your brother begins to make some progress soon, such a difficult time for your poor SIL
Wishing all a peaceful Sunday

Marydoll Sun 27-Jun-21 07:48:44

Trying again.

Marydoll Sun 27-Jun-21 07:48:02

Good morning all from Edinburgh. I haven't a clue what the weather is like, since we have no Alexa and no view from our hotel window, the only view is the back door of Primark! (BTW, the visit was a success got the lilac knickers I have been searching everywhere for!) At 8am, we were the only people in the shop, it felt really strange, to say the least.

Yesterday was very full on and a tad stressful. (Once again, poor hearing and inability to listen on DH's paid a huge role in that chaos!)
It started with breakfast and went downhill after that! We went into M&S for breakfast and decided on Ciabatta rolls for breakfast. While we were waiting, I ran into the food bit, then ended up going round and round in circles, trying to find the way back to the café. This was not any old M&S café, this was M&S Princes Street, of which the basement is a warren!
The breakfast arrived, it looked delicious, but it wasn't what we ordered. ? Unfortunately, the lady who served it was deaf and couldn't speak. She thought we were complaining about her. ? I was frantically trying to reassure her and remember basic sign language from my teaching days. All I wanted was my blooming breakfast!
It was eventually resolved, with a refund, smiles and apologies all round and I have to say, I can thoroughly recommend recommend the oak smoked bacon and ciabatta roll!

Edinburgh was full of good humoured ( some of rather hulking appearance) rugby fans and there was a great atmosphere, but they were walking in huge groups, taking up the whole pavement. Social distancing was ignored, so we spent a lot of time wandering through the gardens.
There was some fantastic singing in the streets, everyone was joining in with all the national songs. However, it was totally surreal, sitting in our hotel room, hearing the Marseillaise, being sung, France weren't even playing!!!

In the middle of lunch, my phone rang, it was DS2.
DS2: Mum is my dad there, I need to speak to you, urgently? ?
Me: Your dad, sister and BIL are here too, we are in a restaurant.
DS2: I need to speak to you alone, now! ?
^ Me^: I will come outside, but it's really busy and noisy

Outside I went, phoned DS, but couldn't hear a thing, as the restaurant staff, decided at that moment, to empty the glass into the recycling bin beside me, rugby fans were singing and a multitude of buses going by.

DS2: Mum we bought dad a whisky barrell, table for the garden, but we can't get it past the cars. We are stuck outside your house!
Me: You have two options, either put it in the Ebay queen's garden or get my car keys and move my car.
DS2: Is that the keys with a picture of all of us on the keyring? I am in your bedroom!!
Me, Wow, you would never had the initiative to think of that in the past!

Phone rings again.

DS2: How do you put out your mirrors and why is the display in German?
Me: Actually it's Dutch! ( That's another long story.)

Then radio silence. Our parking is really tight, we have two cars, parked side by side, parking is down to a fine art and DS2 has never driven my car. Boy was I worried.

I then got a message from my friend across the road, this is all that was on it.
??????????????!
Phone rang again.

DS2: Mum, do you have a different alarm? I'm trying to put it on, I've managed to move the barrell. Oh, no.........
^ Me^: Aaaaaaaargh!!!!!!

Anyway, I have posted a photo of the final outcome. Oh and my delicious, long awaited Mexican lunch was cold, by the time I got back. ? Of course it was all DH's fault, because his birthday today was the cause of it all!!!

I will fill you in tomorrow about DH going missing, (because he didn't listen ....!!!) I have rambled enough.

We are off home, but there is a rail strike. We are catching the Megabus instead. I'm not looking forward to it, because DD suffers badly from travel sickness.
Fortunately, DS2 is picking us up at the bus station, otherwise we would have a convoluted journey home. Into the bargain, we have purchases to carry. DH got carried away in the book shops. I of course, am innocent. [Wink]

Sending warm wishes and hugs to Grannysomerset and hoping you are feeling a bit better. Sue and Kitty, praying you have better news today. ? Auntieflo, as always you are in my prayers and I hope pain free.

I do like the title of that book, Ashcombe. Going by the events of the last few days, it may need to be two novels! ?
Its Mr MDoll's birthday today, so he has a reprieve! I love him dearly, just not at the moment!!!?

For those with plans or meeting up with family, have a great Sunday!

My photos won't post, I will be back later
!

Good morning from murky Leicestershire. I am not sure it has rained so may still have to water the plants.

Big was today ready for going away on Wednesday.

I hope your day started better Grannysomerset and the help you need starts soon.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

harrigran Sun 27-Jun-21 07:44:13

Good morning from a grey and damp NE, yet again.
Yesterday was cold and miserable but my sister called with fresh pies and newspapers, she also included some dolly mixtures for me.
Family are going to visit this afternoon, DS and DIL had their second vaccinations yesterday. They are looking for a new house and saw one they liked yesterday closer to facilities than they are at present and half the distance to our house.
There are still some concerns about DS's health, he hasn't had a definite diagnosis about his heart, there was talk of long covid and how it can damage the heart but at the time GD had covid DS was not tested even though he was ill.
Thinking of kitty's DB and hoping for improvement.
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 27-Jun-21 07:38:04

Morning Mock and all

Mick Isaw the pictures of all those cyclists in a heap on the road, how sad and frustrated for those involved.

Well I had a very productive day yesterday despite feeling sloth like. Popped to local shops then popped into see AS4 who with his family had arrived back from Cornwall the previous night. They were all so tanned, especially GS who is 21 months, the GC have our DiL’s olive skin tone and they tan so easily (with sunscreen at factor 50)

We came home and I tackled the ironing mountain, including bedding, I wish I could get into bed without ironing it but I just cannot!!! I did not sit down till 5pm.

Having a lazy day today, then we have a table booked for 4.30 for a late Sunday lunch with DD and her family.

Sending (((hugs))) to all in need and our missing friends, have a peaceful Sunday.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Greyduster Sun 27-Jun-21 07:36:26

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire. I am sitting here trying to get my daily sneezing fit out of the way without waking DH. It started early today. Added to that I have a rash on my ankle where the top of my sock was. Can you be allergic to socks? Hmm! DD et al are taking us out to lunch this afternoon, but other than that, a relaxing day. We did a lot of gardening yesterday, and were paying the price last night.
For all those who have troubles, a big {{hug}} from me. Have the best day you can folks.

brook2704 Sun 27-Jun-21 07:25:43

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry but cloudy and quite warm.
Nothing much planned yet today, except later on the DGC are coming for a sleepover as we’re looking after them tomorrow. Yesterday’s walk didn’t happen as a change of plan meant we were looking after DGS most of the day, he wanted to visit Culloden Battlefield so we did that, he seems to like listening to the history on the audio guide there!
I hope your DS enjoys his trip to Alnwick GM, I’ve been there quite a few times as my DS used to live there before moving to Switzerland. The gardens and castle are really beautiful.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Beechnut Sun 27-Jun-21 07:19:21

Good Morning from a dull and breezy Severnside.

Weeding and reading yesterday. I will do some card making today and maybe start sewing up the top I cut out last week. I fancy edging the bottom after I saw what you did with Iris’s outfit Mattie. Copy cat me!

A house near me had a few viewings yesterday so possibly some fresh faces in our road soon.

Have the best day you can especially Harrigran and GrannySomerset and anyone else facing tough times ?

Sar53 Sun 27-Jun-21 07:18:29

Good morning from a very grey Essex by the sea. Yesterday was such a lovely day, why can't we have two in a row ??.
DH is going sailing with a friend today until Wednesday so I have time alone. No plans though apart from some shopping tomorrow.
I hope all with worries or sadness see an improvement today. Enjoy Sunday and find that ? xx

Scentia Sun 27-Jun-21 07:05:42

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun is still looking for his hat, hopefully it’s not lost!!?
We have DGS here this morning as he slept over last night so we can take him out to watch his Grandad running in a race today. He is just the best behaved little boy ever, apart from when he picks my flowers and puts stones in my water garden!!
We are just watching Postman Pat, one of his favourites!
Hope Grannysomerset had a better morning with Mr Somerset.
Take care my friends and hope you find a smile.

baubles Sun 27-Jun-21 07:02:19

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire where I believe it’s to be warm and sunny as the day goes on.

Lots of food prep yesterday for today’s meal. DD and family are coming for the afternoon. It’ll be the first time they’ve all been here for eighteen months. I’ve baked their favourites so there should be lots of leftovers for them to take home.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday, as always my thoughts are with those among us who are struggling with sadness, illness or worries.

Ashcombe Sun 27-Jun-21 06:44:14

Good morning from a dreary, rainy Torbay! Yesterday we eventually enjoyed a sunny day but that seems unlikely today.

Your poor brother, kittylester! I do hope he turns a corner soon. ? I hope you have a better day today, GrannySomerset. So hard when these things all happen at once, especially an appliance breaking down at the weekend. Many years ago, we returned from a few days away after Christmas to find a burst pipe in the loft and water pouring through the house! That night, one of the children wet the bed for the only time in her life!

Thank you, Grandmafrench for that lovely memory about the poem in Braille. Marydoll: for the novel's title, how about “Wifey Commits Mariticide Over WiFi”?!

Thank you for the good wishes for lunch yesterday. My friend and I enjoyed our meal with the usual attentive service and delicious food. I opted for the filet of Brixham plaice cooked in lemon juice again. It was probably still swimming in the sea the previous night!

Today I need to flex my fingers (other parts, too!) as I’m due to play the piano for our 09.30 service. One hymn is “O For a Thousand Tongues To Sing” …….. just allowing those in church to sing would be a good start!

Have as good a day as possible, health, weather and restrictions permitting. ?

cornergran Sun 27-Jun-21 06:35:23

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey corner of Somerset. Not raining - yet, suspect it will soon.

Yesterday was a thoroughly enjoyable, very full day. The birthday boys garden party was as manic as anticipated, wonderful to see the children full of joy and be with the adults. The sun shone to order. Couldn’t have been better. We’d been to a shopping centre first, had a meal with part of the family afterwards and arrived home happily exhausted. Today will be a quiet one.

Hope you had a less fraught night grannysomerset and all with worries and pressures of any kind can relax a bit today.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

.

Alizarin Sun 27-Jun-21 06:33:53

Good morning from a very rainy south Cornwall. A simple day today, sorting, tidying, reading amd watching a film maybe. I could go back to my church now - we meet at 4pm - but I don't fancy sitting on my own distanced from friends, and not being allowed to sing. I can wait a bit longer... Have the best day you can everyone.
