Good Evening;
How not to have a lockdown when you’re having a lockdown; don’t call it a lockdown!
That was the essence of today’s cartoon in The Australian newspaper, depicting the New South Wales Premier, Gladys Berejiklian and her Chief Medical Officer Kerry Ghant driving around with a megaphone shouting “Everybody stay at home.....The last thing any of us wants is a Lockdown”!
There has been great reluctance to mention the “L” word!, but now that the statistics are working against her, her hand has been forced!
Businesses are in dire straits, with TV News showing completely empty streets, yet Sydney beaches show many people enjoying the Sun!
Not beach weather here! Sunny breaks, but that brisk wind is keeping temperatures down; 11C now at 10pm!.
Ian returned home today with walking aids to be followed by physio twice weekly.
Hospitals certainly don’t mess about He was in a 2-bed ward; the other patient had just left and another came and went in that short time.
Pet dog Daisy has now to be trained not to jump up at him! She didn’t get the souvenir!
So there you have it Aveline! No worries! Good Luck!
Didn’t you say you’re on the 4th floor/ That will test your hip! Of course you’ll take the lift!
Megs I hope Friday’s wedding doesn’t suffer unwanted interruptions; TV News tonight showed a Sydney couple just beating the lockdown curfew! Many guests would have been disappointed too!
How times have changed! Had a phone call from a local chapter of Jehovah’s Witnesses inviting me to join a Zoom session next month! No idea how they got my number because I’ve never dealt with them before, but I suppose they can buy this information; so surprised I forgot to ask. She sounded a very nice lady; not pushing anything. I suppose this approach now replaces the original door-knock when a couple would appear on the door-step! I might look in; not religious, but always curious about anything new!
Good Health
