I was getting the items out of the machine when I got out an old cotton cardigan. It had a few pulls in it but unfortunately they have gone bigger and badder and really it needs chucking. However, it's a favourite and I liked to chuck it on in the house when I'm a bit chilly BUT it's now an eyesore, and if I do keep it, I shall have to remember not to answer the door in it ! know it's time to let it go but I'm not wasteful and it does it's job still, but I wondered how many of us keep stuff we shouldn't.Do you have something you wouldn't open the door in ?!

I don't think so. Do you feel good in it, not just comfy but feel good. If not I would find something you do feel good in.

I’m rather wasteful and get bored of using the same things. But, for slopping around the house, an old cardigan is just as good as any. But……..draw the blinds and curtains and don’t answer the door to anyone 😂

I have old bobbly cardis and jumpers I put on over my PJs rather than a dressing gown or to wear whilst doing housework. I have answered the door wearing them and nobody has bolted for the hills.

Plenty.

But I can get away with it where we live.
Well, most of the time!

I'm with Fallingstar on this one. I have an ancient crocheted wool jumper that i wear around the house and wouldn't mind answering the door to anyone in it.

Remember the saying, 'Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.'

From what the OP describes you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
I’m baffled as to why you would keep an item of clothing that your too ashamed for the general public to see.
Unless of course your a person who would keep it for sentimental reasons.

I sorted out the airing cupboard yesterday, and came across (I knew it was there) the top I wore when we set off on our honeymoon.

Only 54 years ago!

I thought I was the bees knees in it. It’s a bright red velvet empire line blouse, short sleeves, button down front.

It was cheap and cheerful.

Why am I keeping it?

🤷‍♀️

I have removed it from the airing cupboard and hung it in the corner of my wardrobe.

(I won’t be answering the door in it, it still fits but looks rather daft somehow).

😂
